Cisco Infrastructure :: 3750-E How To Reset Baud Rate
Apr 18, 2010Having trouble resetting the baud rate to 9600 on a 3750-E. Basically the device cannot be set to anything other than 115200 baud rate. I have changed this via startup-config (which lost connection) reconnected and saved config but after reload was back to 115200. Tried via bootloader to 'set 9600' but the termial program paused for a bit then the switch prompt returned. Tried the same to 'unset baud' but the same thing as above happened. I have erased and reloaded flash etc

Jan 27, 2013I've configured all my devices in the lab to use 115200 baud rate, so I can speed things up a little at the console. For whatever reason, I can't get my 3550 to save the 115500 baud rate. I power on the switch, hold the mode button, at the switch: prompt I type 'set BAUD 115200' followed by a reset. I power the cycle the switch once more, yet it still holds at 9600. I did the same process on my 3560's and it worked like a charm.

Feb 14, 2013I have a 2921 router with 1 etherswitch module installed. I haven't done it before and was trying to change the baud rate to 115200 for installing an IOS on the etherswitch module which had been deleted. I ended up "unsetting" the baud rate on the etherswitch and rebooted. Now, when I try to session into the etherswitch, its opens the connection but I can no longer see any text on the screen. Im using Teraterm. I've tried different baud rate settings for my serial port in TeraTerm but still cant see any text on the screen. I dont know of any commands from the router prompt. Any suggestions to fix this? If can start seeing the text, then I can probably configure and set up the etherswitch module.

Oct 20, 2012it seems that i made a mistake when typing the BAUD rate of a 2960-Switch in rommon.I can't start the switch now, because there is no image on it (because I deleted it before) and the baud-rate has wrong settings. When connecting via console cable i can't see anything (except some strange hieroglyphics) when starting. I tried all the speeds in teraterm... without success.what can i do, to recover the switch back?

We provide internet access for a number of clients sitting on our WAN, at present they have un-restricted access to the full bandwidth of our 1Gb internet pipe. As they are only paying for a proportion of that we want to set a Mbps limit on the clients, and idealy the device should be transparent between our router and the clients.
I have been trying to set up rate limits on a bridge on our 1841.

I have tried many combinations but can't get this to limit the traffic, the client still draws as much as they can.
Does rate limit work on bridged interfaces? or am I going to have to try it routed instead?

Nov 5, 2011I have 1841 router with Gigabit Ethernet HWIC with One SFP Slot installed in it and connected via SX Multimode cable to 2950 switch. I have 5 VLans in trunk. The question is what will be the speed rate between VLans - 1 Gbps or less?
The case:
Port 1 assigned to a VLan10 and Port 2 Assigned to a VLan20 on 2950 switch.
InterVLan routing is configured on 1841.
Computer A is connected to Port 1 and Computer B is connected to Port 2 on the switch.
What be a file transfer rate from Computer A to Computer B assuming that NICs on both computers are 1000Base-T.

Oct 30, 2011I have a WRV210-A V01 (Software: 2.0.1.5) router that when originally purchased I upgraded the firmware to the newest 2.0.1.5. However after the firmware upgrade the router has not worked right since. [I thought maybe the upgrade did not take, and successfully pushed the firmware 3x times]
Everytime you login to the webpage the right-side pane you have to scroll down 3x pages until you can see the settings options. It does that for everypage you visit you have to scroll down 3x pages until you can see the settings.
The wireless is sporadic and dropping connections, and now certain options like changing the "Basic Rate:" from "All' to "Default" does nothing and wont let you change it.
The main issue I have is that certain wireless settings like changing the "AP Isolation:" cause the router to reset back to factory defaults. and even trying to configure the LAN setup also randomly makes the router reset to factory default.

But when I http to 192.168.0.1, I get a screen that doesn't quite look like the one in the manual. I enter the "admin" and "W2402" and click login, and the screen refreshes but nothing happens (no configuration options, only able to check status of downstream and upstream channels). Pushing the factory reset button for ten seconds to load defaults makes the lights blink and then reboots; same result as above. Pushing the wireless config button has no effect at all.

Feb 12, 2012I'm trying to configure an IPSEC VPN + tunnel for multicast data. When the default gateway is set on the router (1841) it works fine but if I only set a route to the IPSEC peer via our gateway then the tunnel fails to come up. The end point is to a 3rd party. [code]
I found that if I add a static route for the tunnel destination via fa0/0, the public facing interface, the tunnel comes up..ip route 10.23.4.2 255. 255. 255. 255 FastEthernet0/0
and I can then ping the tunnel IP at the far end - 10.23.0.5.Why would that be? Is there a better way to do this without using a default route??

Its autonomous so there is no controller. I renamed the config.txt file I am unable to rename or delete the private-config file. I get the message that file or directory cannot be found when i try to rename and permission denied when I try to delete it.

However, I discovered that whenever the mesh APs reboot, the power of 802.11a/n signal to will be reset to value 1.
Thus, I would like to ask is this a norm behaviour or I have mis-configured some setting?
