Jan 4, 2011Internet doesn't work on my laptop. after getting some worms that prevented me to open any programs, i did a recover from previous back up. but since then my internet doesn't work (with or without cable). wirelessly: my laptop says im connected to the router, but it says that i have no connection to internet. sometimes it says that i m connected to internet but even so when i try to open my browsers (ieplorer or firefox), it just says "unable to connect"With wire: when i trie to connect via a cable directly to the modem, it does the same thing, it says iam connected to the modem but i have limited access, and the browsers say that it can't open internet.i am using windows 7, have a dell computer and a belkin N1 wireless router, and using cable.i tried to restore the winsock using the netsh command, i used winsockxpfix, i used lspfix, i deleted my norton virus program, i reset my router to default, i deleted my cache-cookie-history from the browser, i think my driver are up to date, i check my manager device (they all work), nothing worked.
when i type the command ipconfig, it gives me:
ipv4 adress: 192.168.2.2
subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
default gateway: 192.168.2.1
when i type the "ping yahoo.com" i get:
4 received, 4 sent, 0 lost
my computer works fine and i can go online. i use wire for my computer and try the same wire to my laptop but not working. i tries another cable throught the router but still nothing.

Feb 3, 2013Recently I bought a Windows 8 (64bits) computer, which is now part of my home network, but it has problems with Shareport. The other computers can be easily connected to a USB printer on my DIR-825 (HW B1) router, but the W8 computer refuses to completely install Shareport (both the CD version and the latest download v1.17). I also tried Shareport-Plus v4.11 (found on the DIR 835 page), which did install correctly, but was still unable to see the USB printer. What can be done? Can D-Link provide a new version of Shareport?

Apr 16, 2012I have a desktop and laptop running Win 7 and a WRT54G router. The desktop has a cable connecting to the router, and the laptop is wireless. Both connect to the network and internet fine, but I can't get the Windows 7 homegroup thing to work. Ran thru the troubleshooter a few times and got nothing out of it.
I just got the laptop so I could do programming homework and I'd like to be able to keep things synced with subversion wirelessly. Worst comes to worst I can use a USB key but it seems silly to do that when both computers talk to the same router.

Jun 27, 2011Im looking to create a home network with a wireless router.I have three machines, one computer is downstairs connected to the router with an ethernet cable, my other two machines are upstairs and connet to the internet wirelessly through the same router downstairs.I want to be able to connect to my upstairs computer with my laptop and access my files, i have an external hard drive connect to my computer and want to be able to back up to it from my laptop without removing cables.All three machines are running windows 7, the homegroup doesn't seem to work?

Nov 1, 2012I recently upgraded to Windows 8 with my XPS 16. I know the Intel R 5150 is not working right with Windows 8 just like everyone else I've seen post on various sites when they upgraded. My concern is.. when is there gonna be an updated driver!? You would think if Windows was gonna make it available to upgrade your OS to 8 that they would have all this straitened out. Now I have to get rid of 8 just so I can have WiFi!

Just got TL-MR3040 from amazon, not very happy that it is version 1, they could at least mention it in the description, but whatever...The problem is, i can not make it work with my PC laptop(thinkpad x120e with Windows 7 64 bit). Which means,1 not possible to get into web interface to configure it, and 2 if i configure it with old powerbook (os x 10.4) to share internet from usb stick, i can connect to it's wireless network but it doesn't share internet with my pc laptop,while mac and ipad working perfect...I've try to log in into web interface through the cable, still no luck...Not sure i want to re-install the whole system on my laptop just to see if it will change anything, it works with any other router, and usb sticks...

I was able to start it again using the Dell Operating System Reinstallation CD for XP Professional with SP1, that came with another computer. I then installed a Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 and Internet Explorer 8. However the wifi (wireless) does not work. I went to setup and assured that it is enabled. I assume that I have lost the driver for it. Before the crash it had a working wireless connection. I need to know what driver to install to make it operate. Setup indicates that my computer has a MiniPCI card 1370 Broadcom Corp.

I just wanted to note that the 3.2.7 driver obtained from Windows Update doesn't work well, drops connections and takes longer to establish a connection. I've tried to update twice and each time I go back to the older driver.Can someone at Linksys examine the performance of this driver?

Jul 26, 2012We are using the newest release of AD Agent (1.0.0.32.1, built 598). The ASA Firewalls 5520 are having the software release 8.4(3)8 installed.When somebody tries to connect thru the Identity based firewalls from a citrix published desktop environment (PDI) the connection is not possible. Checking the ip-of-user mapping on the firewalls (show user-identity ip-of-user USERNAME) mostly doesn't show the mapping of the USERNAME and the PDI the user is logged in. The user-of-ip mapping of the PDIs IP-address shows mostly other users, which then are used to authenticate the acces thru the firewalls.
What is interesting, that on the AD Agent using "adacfg.exe cache list | find /i "USERNAME"" i can't see the PDIs IP-address neither because it is mapped to another user.Is Citrix Published Desktop environment supported to connect thru Identity based Firewalls? How AD Agent, Domain Controllers and Firewalls are working together? On the firewalls with "show user-identity ad-agent we see, the following:
-Authentication Port: udp/1645
-Accounting Port: udp/1646
-ASA Listening Port: udp/3799
Why Cisco does use 1645 and 1646 and not 1812 and 1813?The Listening Port is used for what purpose? we tried the AD Agent modes full- download and on-demand with the same effect.
Cisco :: LMS 4.2 / W2K8 R2 - Discovery Not Working
Jul 12, 2012LMS 4.2, W2K8 R2.I was having an issue with discovery adding devices to with corrupt information (seemingly random strings of characters in several fields). While I was trying to clean this up a scheduled discovery kicked off and further exacerbated the issues I was having. Frustrated, I deleted all entries from the discovery schedule until I could get things cleaned up.
Now I want to go back and troubleshoot the discovery process. Trouble is, I can't get discovery to do anything anymore. I disabled all modules but CDP. I added a single seed IP address under the CDP configuration. This is the address of a 3560V2 switch that is not in DCR. When I started discovery it completed in about 2 seconds and didn't discover anything, including the seed device. So I added another 3560V2 as a seed device under global settings. Same results. Thinking that it had been working using scheduled discovery, I set up a schedule and kicked it off that way. Same results. Finally I added one of these seed devices to DCR and let LMS fully learn about it. Ran another discovery. Still no joy.
I started an SNMP debug on the seed devices before starting discovery. I see the SNMP get coming from LMS, the switches respond and the discovery completes with 0 devices discovered.CS Discovery.log contains no meaningful information. Only messages about "No appenders could be found for logger".
Cisco WAN :: W2K8 R2 / Unicast NLB And Distributed Routing And Switching
Feb 3, 2011I was wondering if the following scenario would work:
2 Microsoft TMG servers (could be any W2K8 R2 based server, e.g. UAG, Exchange etc.) configured for Unicast NLB. The servers are connected to separate L2 switches which are connected to a highly available central L3 switch (see attached drawing).
Unicast NLB works in such a way that it uses a shared virtual IP and a virtual MAC addres which is not used as Source MAC address when the TMG servers are respondign to requests.Basically it relies onto the fact that the switch does not learn the virtual MAC address and floods all packets destined to the virtual MAC on all ports. The L3 switch would learn the MAC through ARP. The question now is, what the L3 switch would do, if it receives a packet destined for the NLB VIP. It should do an ARP request in order to receive the virtual MAC. How would he decide on which port(s) to forward the packet as he does not know on which port the MAC is found. Can he make a decision based on Layer 3 (IP/VLAN based) therefore he knows that the VLAN for the TMGs is connected on those two uplink ports?

I seem to be unable to generate a syslog report that contains > 10,000 records. And I don't mean with run type immediate either. I am scheduling them to run at the next 5 minute interval (incidentally, why not have an option that just says "run in background now"?)
I am facing an issue where a bunch of errors are being generated by a voice gateway and I want to determine when the problem started. My syslog contains 7 days of records. If I schedule a report to give me all syslog records for the last 1 week (or 7 days I have tried it both ways) for all devices at that location I get 10,000 records, and they are all for the current date. If I schedule a report and select a date range in the past, I get records within that date range, but only 10,000.

It just shows the admin share of C$ immediately. If I choose 'New' at the bottom of the panel a new drive letter and drive name can be entered but it can never be accessed over the network! It shows up in the workgroup but I get a network error 'Network path not found' if I try to access it. I can ping the laptop from anywhere by name and IP address.The laptop can access all the other PCs without any problem.

Most things work but now I want to setup a vpn connection..I have done this 2 ways, first by using the "VPN Wizard" in ASDM and then 5 hours later removing everything and configuring from cli. And it just doesn't work, client (WinXP & Win7) gets "error 792" and sometimes "error 789" (both indicating problem with phase 1, I'm pretty sure of that) Googling on those gives a few suggestions none works. All I get in the log on Cisco is the "Error processing payload: Payload ID: 1" Google on that only comes up with a few pages telling me this message is caused by an error. (Yeah, I could never have guessed...) For the cli config, I followed this tutorial carefully (3 times actually...) url...I'm using PSK for IPSec, entered same on Cisco and client - checked several times, this is not a password/PSK issue. Ports opened on Cisco: 500, 1701, 4500 (For a try I opened all ports, no change.) And here's the "show run". [code]

When I open Realtek to connect nothing appears in the available networks. I checked the device mgr and it says Realtek is working. I turned off my 2Wire gateway and then reconnected it. I doubled checked that the Windows wireless utility is disabled. Still no available networks. Everything was fine before the reinstall of Windows XP Home.
