I bought cisco AP (air-ap1142-e-k9) and we know this ap works with 802.11a/g/n same the description note on the package cartoon but my problem is when i configure that ap its work only with 802.11a/g i tries to make it works with 802.11n but fail .

After upgrade IOS (to new Version 15.2(2)JA) without any config modification, management interface (encapsulation dot1q 33) or any IP interface with encapsulation dot1q became unreachable... If set IP on SVI (or BVI) with native VLAN (encapsulation dot1q 4094 native), this IP is reachable. Probably, there are bug in new IOS and Dot1q encapsulation? (see 'tech-support' in attached files)

View 2 Replies View RelatedI purchased a used Compaq laptop with a Realtek USB wireless adapter. The laptop came with XP Pro. I connected the adapter and everything worked great. My husband got a virus I couldn't remove. I have the CD for XP Home so I did a clean install.Windows works fine. I connected the USB wireless adapter and ran the installation disk. When I open Realtek to connect nothing appears in the available networks. I checked the device mgr and it says Realtek is working. I turned off my 2Wire gateway and then reconnected it. I doubled checked that the Windows wireless utility is disabled. Still no available networks. Everything was fine before the reinstall of Windows XP Home.

And then everything changed back to its original like my SSID from Netcom it changed back to wireless and everything was default and also the PPP was off so i wasn't able to connect to the internet. So i went to my router setup page on the internet or whatever and turned it back on. I was using the wired connection since then until I, at last, was able to use it's wireless connection but it only lasted around a week. After that, the modem light on the router kept on blinking and the internet light wouldn't turn on. I also couldn't connect to the router anymore(wired and wireless), neither could I configure it. I reset it but it still didn't work.

The ethernet cabled one does, but not the wireless. Trying to connect to anything wireless just gives an endless searching process, with no results. I can't test the ethernet either, my router is all the way into the living room, way far out of reach.

The DIR-825 wireless simply doesn't work. When I called tech support, we cleared some settings and hard-powered the unit on/off and it finally turned on the wireless radio. A couple weeks later I pull out my laptop to use in the house via wireless and the wireless on the DIR-825 is OFFLINE AGAIN...fallen and it can't get UP.Is anyone having issues with keeping their wireless online? OK - powered it off for 5 minutes...now the wireless is working. I think changing configuration settings causes the thing to lock up.
View 1 Replies View RelatedTrying to troubleshoot a Cisco Pix 501. We have a cable modem/router that goes to the Cisco box that then goes to my wife's computer. It's worked flawlessly since we hooked it up, even if we unplug/replug the router. Today, we unplugged the Cisco box itself to hook up a newer one. When the newer one didn't work, we tried to hook up the old one again to no avail. The led indicators seem to show that everything's working properly. We've unplugged and rebooted everything. Nothing works. The network monitor on the computer shows that it detects being connected to a network, but it always says no internet access.

As 3500 does not work in standalone mode, so we are looking for APs that can work in standalone mode ( and later can be converted to lightweight if needed). We can go for 1140 in that case. However, it would be better for us to know the main differences between features supported by 3500 lightweight AP and 1140 standalone AP. CleanAir looks like the main one. Are there other important ones as well?

The customized login page is displayed correctly. After successful authentication the browser is forwarded to the default CISCO login page "login.html". No further autentication is possible, also no internet access.Reload the customized webauth bundle to the controller didn't change anything. Is there a change in the HTML/Java code of this controller version? I didn't find any hint in the release notes. Or do I need the newer web authentication bundle with version 1.0.2?
View 6 Replies View RelatedIt looks like pretty basic config, but it does not work. I have 1x 2602i autonomous mode AP, 1x C2960 switch (with inter-vlan routing prefered SDM template) and 1x 1841 router.
I trunk between Switch and Router works smoothly, but it does not work between AP and Switch or AP and Router.
Configuration looks like this:

I just upload firmware1.0.1.10 on 2 WAP121. After the update and reboot, I was able to confirm the firmware version in the System Summary menu. The update is uneventful.However, the functions WDS Bridge and WorkGroup Bridge no longer works on two WAP121:
- For WDS Bridge, when I configure a Remote MAC Address with WPA Encryption and then I click on the Save button, nothing happens there. But it works well when I choose without Encryption.
- For WorkGroup Bridge, when I click on the Save button (even without changing the configuration), I have a message "Certificate file uploaded successfully" and another error message in the background: "error occured for query you send path . device.sync ... "

I've just setup a WAP321:
- 2 vlans: 200 & 250
- ip address on vlan 200 (management)
- SSID on vlan 200
- SSID on vlan 250
The LAN port is connected to Cisco Catalyst (Trunk 200,250). In vlan 200, there is the customer lan In vlan 250, there is a box to access to internet.
SSID associated to vlan 200 works properly. But the captive portal associated to vlan 250 doens't work. When we connect to it, and the captive portal is off, we can access to internet (the box give an ip address). But when I setup the captive portal to vap2 (vlan250), we can't access to internet (but the DHCP works properly). We have access to nothing, the page in the browser is blank.
I suspect a mistake with DNS configuration. I have read that the captive portal needs to be associated to vap0, is it true?

I can not setup a new user, or access wireless networks that show on my laptop had a virus and the shop said they removed it but the network has not worked since it a dell inspiron 1525

The laptop finds the router and gets "connected" but when I try to open a web page, it says there's an issue with my internet connection, and also something about not finding the DNS...whatever that means...as you can see..

I have a building just across the street and these would work wonderfully to extend the LAN to that building for the few users that will be located there. The distance is only 200'. That's not my issue right now as I'm still in the lab trying to get these things to talk. I've been through the Cisco documentation on this and just can't seem to get them to work. Here are the requirements:
1. I'll have 2 or 3 vlans that will be used by clients
2. I'll have 1 VLAN for network management
3. I'm not using BSSIDs
4. Is it possible to utilize the 5ghz radio for bridging and still have your 2.4ghz clients be able to connect or am I required to set up bridging on both bands?
5. There's also this option for "workgroup bridging". Am I getting confused on this. I've read through it. It doesn't look like the way I need to do things.
I'm attaching the root side configuration. Version is 124-25d.JA2. The non root side is version 124-21a.JA1.
On the non root side, I get error "dot11-4-no_valid_infra_ssid: No infrastructure SSID configured. Dot11Radio1 not started.
Show ip int br shows reset for the dot11radio1.
