Whenever some other laptop in my room is using internet with its wifi my wifi stops working. I checked my ping when no laptop was using wifi that its runnig quite smoothly. But as soon as my room mates laptop gets connected to the same network my ping gives me output that "Request timed out".

The laptop finds the router and gets "connected" but when I try to open a web page, it says there's an issue with my internet connection, and also something about not finding the DNS...whatever that means...as you can see..

My husband got a virus I couldn't remove. I have the CD for XP Home so I did a clean install.Windows works fine. I connected the USB wireless adapter and ran the installation disk. When I open Realtek to connect nothing appears in the available networks. I checked the device mgr and it says Realtek is working. I turned off my 2Wire gateway and then reconnected it. I doubled checked that the Windows wireless utility is disabled. Still no available networks. Everything was fine before the reinstall of Windows XP Home.

And then everything changed back to its original like my SSID from Netcom it changed back to wireless and everything was default and also the PPP was off so i wasn't able to connect to the internet. So i went to my router setup page on the internet or whatever and turned it back on. I was using the wired connection since then until I, at last, was able to use it's wireless connection but it only lasted around a week. After that, the modem light on the router kept on blinking and the internet light wouldn't turn on. I also couldn't connect to the router anymore(wired and wireless), neither could I configure it. The ethernet cabled one does, but not the wireless. Trying to connect to anything wireless just gives an endless searching process, with no results. I can't test the ethernet either, my router is all the way into the living room, way far out of reach.

The DIR-825 wireless simply doesn't work. When I called tech support, we cleared some settings and hard-powered the unit on/off and it finally turned on the wireless radio. A couple weeks later I pull out my laptop to use in the house via wireless and the wireless on the DIR-825 is OFFLINE AGAIN...fallen and it can't get UP.Is anyone having issues with keeping their wireless online? OK - powered it off for 5 minutes...now the wireless is working. I think changing configuration settings causes the thing to lock up.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've recently received this new Cisco 1921 routers with Cisco CP loaded, so it comes up with the annoying change username and password at first access. I've removed all of those files from the flash memory, and rebooted it, and it came up with the proper initial configuration dialog, which is what I wanted. But, whenever I configure the router with a set of basic configuration, like interface, routing, and snmp loggings, and hit wr mem, it doesn't display at all when I do "sh run". It's weird cause when I do sh run | sec rip or any other stuff that I have configured, it shows up , but not in sh run at all.
What's the deal with the new routers? Even sh version doesn't show the config-register or memory allocation details.
