Cisco Application :: Configure New ACE 30 Module On Top Of 6500 Core Switch
Jan 12, 2013
i have configure new ACE 30 module on top of 6500 core switch , the issues am facing whenver i want to access to https://ACE_IP and after i enter the user name and the password , it's forwared me to the follwoing page: is there anything should i configure to avoid this page ?
I have an ACE10-6500-K9 (Application Control Engine service module for Catalyst 6500) but I can't access it because I lost the admin password.I would like to know how to perform a Password Recovery Procedure on this device. Is it similar to the password recovery procedure on an ACE 4700 appliance?
We have two 6500 core switches and one(primary) of them is running in VTP transparesnt mode and the other (secondary) one is running in VTP client mode. I would like to change the VTP mode of the second switch to transparent mode. Would it cause any issue. I guess i have to create VLANs onto the switch.
I am planning to migrate the core switch from cisco 3750 to Cisco catalysts 6513 switch. What could be the best approach to minimize the downtime or avoid disrupting the production. I have couple of thoughts, one method is to build the core and then replace the existing core, another option is to build the new switch as the second VTP server and once it recieves all the VTP information then disconnect the old server.
I have an Cisco 6500 CS and there is a Cisco Unified Communication Manger Server connected directly to the Core Switch.I tried to change duplex and speed ( fix and auto ) for both sides, but the same problem.
i configure the uplinks as etherchannel, i configure two svi interface on core switch int vlan 51(192.168.51.1) and int vlan 50(192.168.50.0) for this two svi int i configured two dhcp pool , when any of the pc is requesting for dhcp add i am getting dhcp request failed/
I have a switch layer 6500 series connected to a firewall, the port configuration between them is layer 2, in another words I do not configure an IP address in the Cisco switch port to conected it in the firewall, but when a apply a policy on firewall it lose communication with others vlans, just the vlan that is connected between the switch and firewall works, attachment the design. I think that is necessary to configure the connection between the firewall and switch as layer 3 ( a port with IP address in the switch), but I would like to know why? The switch is configured with about 10 vlan and it is a inter vlan routing, a default route is configured in the switch where the gateway is the firewall.
I m planning to implement VSS in core but want some inputs on IOS as i have FWSM as a service module Core :- Ii am running 12.2(33)SXH2a on my Core 6509 and i checkd cisco sites and Fwsm release notes but it states only I-Train of IOS while mine is H-Train so can I directly upgrade to I-Train or I was thinking of SXH8b IOS.
We are using CISCO Catalyst 6500 switches as collapsed core/distribution switches (2 layer architecture). I want to connect approximatly 10 application servers to the network. Can I connect the servers directly to the catalyst 6500 switches using WS-X6148E-GE-TX line cards? The other option is to use access switchs and then connect the servers to the catalyst 6500 through access switch(Catalyst 3750).
I have an Issue. In my networks, 1 single user is facing Network Slowness issue. i needs to check to which port user is coneected in switch to CHeck whether that port has any errors. But problem is, i am providing support from remote location. And my concern LAN segment is Very big,I have only user Ip address details, when i ping the Ip address from Core switch it is pinging. but when i give show ip arp & give Ip address then its not learning and listing out the Mac address to trace down to the specific port.
Doing a bug scrub on our dual core, dual Sup 720 6500s tonight. We are going from s72033-advipservicesk9_wan-mz.122-33.SXI4a.bin to SXI9. I want to get a second set of eyes on my script since I have not done this for about 1 1/2 years. Following this doc:[URL]
One of our ACE-20's crash recently with little info as to why - fortunately it was the FT standby module so service wasn't impacted but obviously keen to determine the cause of the crash, and potential resolution.
Running A2 (3.5).
last boot reason: NP 1 Failed : NP Core Reset - Cause Unknown,There is nothing obvious from the switch perspective:

I want to add module of WS-X6716-10GE(-3C). The type of 6500 isCisco WS-c6509-e (r7000) processor (revision 1.2).Can I add this module to this type of 6500?Do I need to reset the 6500 in order to the 6500 receive the module?
we are planning to implement a VSS solution with a 6500 series switches with sup 2T. We also need to include an ASA service module on the design, however the budget is not enough to buy two asa service modules. So i want to know if is possible run a VSS cluster, whit only one ASA service Module. and also i would like know what happens if the single ASA service module fails? can the switch cluster continue operating just as if there is not a firewall installed?
I recently installed the license ACE-SSL-05K-K9 on ACE10 with multicontext solution. The license provides 5000 Maximum number of SSL transactions per second (TPS).The customer would like to track this to find out the correct size and in the case of services https upgrade licenses. Can I do it so through particular output or it's necessary monitoring with snmp service? In the second case, can you tell me the oid string to use?
In case the module should receive a higher number of connections to that provided by the license, what's the issue for new https connections?
We are using a Ace module running version 3.0?We do have a service which can now be reached by a url like https://www.xxx.com/yyy/ < notice the last /This is running via the Ace which terminates SSL and so on..
So now our client wants an url like https://www.yyy.com . The backend realservers and place of virtual dirs on IIS stays the same.
So now /yyy/ needs to be added to the backend realserver request, so the correct virtual dir is used. Therfore I need to add this Uri towards the realserver.
I'm looking at upgrading our FWSM modules in our 6500's. They're the WS-SVC-FWM-1 modules.
We're running on version 3.2(12) at the moment and I'm looking to jump up to 4. Any recommendations around whether I should to go to 4.1(6) or 4.0(16)? There aren't any features in particular that I would need in 4.1 but want a good stable base to sit on for 12 months until I look at this exercise all over again.
I Just deployed some of these new modules and running A4.x code. How to configure an ACE with the maximum context?
We run in tranparrent mode with 110 Contexts, we found that with a base config for each context(80 lines of code) this would only leave us with 7% of available RAM. The Device begins to shut down services @ 5%. like SSH and others.
So, Is this even possible to configure 250 contexts and still manage the device.
Cisco IP phones attached to a Moduke in one of my Cat6500 access Switches suddenly went down. Upon closer inspection of the Switch Sys log, I observed the following Sys log error messages: [Module 9 is experiencing the following error: Inline Power Module - PS Voltage bad. ]A sh Mod output indicates the PoE daughter card and Main Module are "ok" - see attached output. It appears issue is related to the the actual Power Supply module and not the blade module and installed PoE Daughter card. I am inclined to open a TAC case for a PS replacement, but wanted to see if this can be resolved without a hardware replacement. At this time all 48 IP phones attached to this module are out of Service.
