I also would have to put the encryption key in again. I am using WEP 40 bit.

Once I change they key, clients cannot authenticate to the access point unless they either change the password or forget and re add the network on the client device. Is there any way to make the client ask for a new key if the key doesn't match when authenticating?

It appears to be working but before I got the cable modem I had it connected to a router and it was set-up with a static IP address. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a WAP54G v3.1 running firmware version 3.05.01 and a WRT54G v3 running Tomato v1.28. The WAP54G is configured client mode and works perfectly. However, I was not able to get the two to communicate with WPA2 security - maybe, I just didn't try hard enough? Both devices are capable of doing WPA2 with AES but client mode doesn't seem to work with WPA2?  I had to drop back to WPA-AES to make it work.  Why is this?

This setup is only going to be temporary untill I can get the appropriate infrastructure in place to facilitate the Radius server setup I really want in 12 to 18 months from now.

i have a LAN network between several pc's connected with several switch's and connected to Thomson SpeedTouch 510 DSL Router its ip address is 10.0.0.100 subnet 255.0.0.0 and the router dont give auto ip to the PCs i have to issign it manually to the PCs "static ip".I bought the acer android recently so i bought a tp-link td-w8901g wireless router to act as an access point so i connected the 2 routers to each other by LAN and gave the tp-link an ip address 10.0.0.12 subnet mask 255.0.0.0 so it will be the same ip range of the speedtouch and setuped the tp-link router to fit my isp configeration it worked at first but i had to reset the router so i did the same configuration i did before but didnt work and i cant access the internet using the android or the wireless but when i connect the phone to the tp-link and unplug the speedtouch the wireless works so theres no any problem with the router?

I have read the docs on Free Radius, and believe I have the method worked out on how to make a small change, run in debug mod to observe my change, to verify that I don't spend too much time pulling out my hair. I am fairly adept at CSACS 5.3 but it hides the magic of Radius from me.
