I have an LMS 4.0.1 server (on Windows 2008 R2) with all the LMS and device updates applied that fails when trying to do an Inventory Collection on a Cisco 3925E router. The router is running IOS Version 15.1(1)T2. This device is apparently supported according to:
I have 3560-24PS-S (ios version 12.2(35)SE1) that have high CPU (almost 100%) use at every inventory collection (each sunday) or polling (each day 6 a.m) during 2 or 3 minutes.
I read on the forum, that this could be due to some mib object polling failure, and could, perhaps, be solved by upgrading the ios version or configuring view preventing the poll of the problematic object.
But what view to configure ?Is there well known MIB objects to filter ? Which ones ? I did not see any bug related to my IOS version and this behavior in the bug toolkit ... I join some sh commands (unfortunately done when no problem). I will try to obtain the output of the sh command when the pb occurs.
I am having issues with monitoring our Cisco ASA5505 devices with "SolarWinds Orion NPM 10.2" through the use of SNMPv2. On some devices we see that SNMP polling stops and that the ASA's interfaces would show up as unknown - usually when the link to the device goes down/up or after a random ammount of time. At that point SNMP polling data is no longer updated and all we can rely on is ICMP for device status. I can resolve the issue by restarting the remote ASA OR restarting the SolarWinds server after which polling resumes. We are only seeing this behaviour with our remote ASA's.
Our setup is as follows: Head End: Cisco ASA 5520 [ASA 8.3(2)] Remote: Cisco ASA 5505 [ASA 8.3(2)]
I have found a SolarWinds article listed below that possibly identifies the issue that we are having but am not sure where to start.
We have LMS4.0 monitoring 100+ devices. In that collection we have 2 4506e switches. The switches are identical, but one is inventoried successfully and the other always fails. Both have verified their credentials. The 4506e failing inventory is the only device not being inventoried.I looked at other post and increased snmp timeout with no effect.
You all know the senario; A managed device, let's say a c2801 router is being replaced with newer platform, let's say a c3900e series router. Might aswell be a C2960 being replace by a c3750x
I the goodolddays, with LMS3.2.1, you would get the "conflicting device" notice that the SNMP OID has changed on this managed device. you then need to press update and the device would then be managed once more.
How is tyhis done in LMS 4.2.2 ?
I seem to see more and more device in one of my installation, that DCR sees teh new OID and updates, but Inventory fails ... I get more of this, and the error is just; Internalt error in the job-browser .
I see Device Center info is wrong, but DCR info is right ..
What to do, and how do LMS handle this ? Can I get notice around when a device has been changed ?
Just purchased a Cisco SG200-26 (non-PoE version).
It works great, but since hooking it up to my network, my Synology NAS won't hibernate.
So I went and checked if the switch was polling, and indeed it is. Every 1-2 seconds, the activity LED on all connected ports, flashes simoultaneously.
When the LED on the switch flashes, the network LED on my NAS also flash. So I'm prone to think the switch is polling the entire network every couple seconds.
I've tried disabling Spanning Tree, and other other options that could relate to the issue, but without any luck.
i looked but didn't find anything. I'm looking for a configuration guide, similar to the ASA Configuration Guide, that that can provide documentation on how to configure a Cisco 3925e router. I have my CCNA and a fair amount of real world experience configuring routers but ultimately what I am looking for is guidance on how to configure BGP on this beast. I learned a great deal about ASAs by running through the ASA Configuration Guide and I am hoping to do the same with the 3900 series ISRs.
I found a new bug in cisco IOS 15.1(4)M3 when running EEM script with syslog event detector. If system logging performed using the "logging discriminator" and run concurrently EEM script with syslog event detector, then Cisco router crash and goes to reboot.
I just installed a new ISR G2 3925e (spe200 integrated) in a VPN environment it works well but I lost latency (it adds around 8-10 ms in the VPN) because of " IPsec packet batching" :Queues multiple packets at the interrupt service routine level after being processed by crypto engine Reduces interrupt context switching by allowing one crypto interrupt for multiple crypto packetsIt's not very good specaly if you tunnel ToIP and/or video streamsI'm trying to find a solution how to disable it without impact other things or is there something planned soon to improve itfyi I use IOS c3900e-universalk9-mz.SPA.151-4.M.bin
How do I find the default throughput supported by the Router 3925E?I need a router that supports 400Mbps line 3900.The 3925E supports? If so, you need to upgrade or add a EHWIC? If so, what can I addto support that throughput?
We have several unknown devices within our inventory. When running an inventory report the message I get back is "No Credentials available".
For inventory checks is it just SNMP that is used or is it the standard credentials that are needed ?
I am planning to edit the credentials for the single device manually to see if this makes a difference. Our integration is with ACS and we have a machine account with admin priveleges.
Device Verification for the device states "Device Not reachable" for SNMP and SSH. There are no drops on any of our firewalls but snmpwalk does work from the command prompt from the LMS server.
Are there any further checks I can make for these 2 messages:
* "No Credentials available". * "Device Not reachable"
I have been having problems getting devices into DFM once I enable fault management.I am now having issues with the basic LMS / RME I am getting the following issue:"No Device exists in LMS or Inventory is not collected for devices."I experienced this before and resolved by reapplying the licence. The issue has gone from - all devices discovered and added to LMS and DCR ok turned on Layer 2 Topology and Faults and then no devices appearing in DFM.after restarting the Daemon manger I have no devices in LMS. total device approx 1900 - standalone setup.
After I upgrading all device packages, inventory collection failure to complete. All devices stuck on pending state and at the end of the job all devices are under not attempted and job result description ses " Timed out. Make shure that ICServer is running". I made sure that ICServer is running.
I have Cisco Works LMS 4.0 on Win 2K8 64 bits on VMware EXs. I am facing issue with reference to Inventory Collection, my 10% devices (including Routers & Switches) Inventory collection is failed and give me error (Device sensed, but collection failed). I increase the SNMP timeout 10 sec, 30 sec, 60 sec and even 100 sec the result be the same.
A customer of mine have 2 VSS systems for wich IC times out during collection when trying to read from flash on them. From the ICserver.log
[ Thu Dec 13 16:45:19 CET 2012 ],WARN ,[Thread-20],com.cisco.nm.rmeng.util.logger.XDILogger,67,com.cisco.nm.xms.xdi.pkgs.SharedInventoryCatIOS.FlashAGI_CISCO_FLASH_Mib,g$eval,70,com.cisco.nm.xms.xdi.pkgs.S
LMS 4.0.1 installed on Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard with SP1. Created Inventory collection job, but couple of hours later, it is failed with all devices Not Attempted. Increased SNMP timeout on 10 sec, started again for only 1 device - collection failed again. I am attaching pdshow and ICServer file.
There are 3 newly installed Cat4506-E.SSH and SNMPv3 access are verificated. Devices are managable in every way only the inventory is missing. If I try to collect manually then they fail but I can't figure it out why.
We have 694 units Cisco Catalyst 4507R plus E swithes accross the network. LMS 4.1 can discover it no problem however, i cannot extract inventory information for these switches. I get the this "Number of devices that do not have inventory collected data" on the report.installed System image file is "bootflash:cat4500e-entservicesk9-mz.150-2.SG1.bin"
i saw this supported version:
150-1.XO (or) 03.01.00.SG <<--- should i have the exact image or higher version will do? [Inventory Config and Image Management]
Reference: [URL]
Is the image installed on my switches not supported? seems like I have higher version.
We have just installed lms 4.2 and are having problems collecting config and inventory from ws-svc-wism2-k9. The response from TAC was that this is not supported. And it also says this in [URL]
Is this really the case ? Will there be released packeges to support this. It would be really useful if this was supported in lms4.2.
we have replaced a PSU in an ASA 5585 and after it, when we want to see the new PSU serial number, strangely appears the old one instead of the new one. Do we have to do anything in order to get the inventory updated?
I reinstalled CiscoWorks LMS (Windows 2008 R2) updated th LMS with all availible devicepackages and imported all devices with a xml bulk import of the former installation. Now I am frustrated.... because after the reinstallation LMS has problems collecting the inventory data. The inventory collection for one local device (Cisco WS-C3560-8PC-S) starts and nevers stops.... I have to stop the ICserver to stop the inventory collection.
I have only 4 of nearly 1800 devices where it was possible to collect the inventory information. All the rest is supposed to unreacheable...Reports> Inventory>Management Status>Unreachable Devices. But if I take one of the devices which is reported to be unreacheable and do a device diagnostic (Monitor> Troubleshooting Tools> Troubleshooting Workflows) says it is reacheable...
The inventory does not appear in the "Collector Status"?
By reruning discovery with new seeds etc I have more devices discovered. Howeverr they are not shown in the inventory, only in the Device Discovery Summary however.
I added this wlc in lms and tried to collect inventory. But it is failing after taking long hours.(LMS Version 3.2.1,WLC 4404 -Version 7.0.116)(SNMP walk is successful & using SNMP V2c)I hope the specific package is available in LMS as i could find the WLC 4404 in Device update->Sys Obj ID -> <id of 4404 WLC> Any bug could be the reson for this...?
Creating several Inventory-Report Templates via Report Designer I was asking myself how to export/import these templates for use on other systems, performing backup.
Inventory in CiscoWorks with new devices ASR9K Series is not working. CW version: LMS3.2.1. Device: ASR-9006 AC Chassis. Credentials correct. Screenshot1: inventory request fail.
