Cisco :: LMS 4.0 - Lost Link Connection Between Devices Topology View?
Jul 16, 2012
I'm using LMS 4.0, after I auto discovery device, I can see all of devices on my network but I cannot view the links connect between the ASR 9000 and Catalyst 6509. I've just checked cdp neighbor on these devices, I can see the full of neighbors.
I attach 2 file, with the visio topology and the topology view on LMS , and I'm 100% sure about the connections between these devices are used. I try to re-discovery many times but it not work correctly.
The regular problem with the LMS topology and WAN Links when you see the branches are disconnected from the HQ BUT in my case the branches are already connected via Layer2 links but unfortunately some intermediate layer2 modem/switch exist in some branches which prevent CDP discovery but you will find both HQ and branch router in the same subnet .
I have problem with topology view in LMS 4.2.1, it doesn't show the tunnels connecting branches, though both devices are shown in sh cdp neighbour command output. If I choose Show Devices in Admin > Collection Settings > Data Collection, it is showing cdp neighbours correctly.
I work with the topology view in LMS 4.1. I can see all the links between the differrent switches (N7K, 3750, 3040).I miss only the links between the different N7K's. This links have one special thinks: they are configured as " rate-mode dedicated force" In the N7K cli this interfaces are displayed with the SN too.
sw-bb13# show cdp ne.The links to sw-bb11 and sw-bb21 are not painted in the topoloyview.
Setup my DCS-930L for DDNS (Dynamic Domain Name Server) so I can access the DCS-930L via the Internet (couldn't access the camera half the the time while on vacation using mydlink) and can now access the camera using my laptop, Android Thrive, and Motorola Droid 3 via the URL I've created but can only see the video when using the laptop.
I have the DCS-930L set to Java but when I log into the camera with the Thrive or Droid 3 (both Android devices) I don't get video. I can make changes to the camera settings and everything else you can do when logged into the camera but just can't see the video. If I change the 'View Mode' in the video setup to 'Image', I will get a picture on all three devices (Thrive, Droid 3, and laptop).
What do I need on the Droid 3 & Thrive so I can see the video when I log into the DCS-930L with an Android device?
We have a problem with the Layer2 view of the Topology java applet in Cisco Prime LMS 4.2.The Layer2 view shows all the ethernet interfaces links but not the ones in the serial interfaces. All devices have CDP and SNMP (read-only) enabled, and theirs neighbors can be seen with "show cdp neighbors" in both sides of those links.
I'm having issue with wireless connection on Belkin router F5D7633-4.Every 1-2 days my router disconnect and reconnect for no apparent reasons. When this happens, it affects it's wifi. All the devices in my house couldn't connect via wireless to this router. The only way to get these devices connected is to manually reboot the router.Do you know how to allow the router to allow many devices connected at same time?
1)i have problem in LMS 4.2 , he shows most devices not connected to topology sitting lonly even though the have cdp enable , how to force these to join the topology
2)why some devices are shown unreachable , even though i can ping them from lms server and gets reply, also they have community and cdp configured
I am trying to setup 4 cameras to view with remote live view. I set up my server with IP addresses of 192.168.1.80 .... 85. The screen has only the option for 1 video channel. I have seen on-line screen shots that have options for channel 1 through 8. I want to assign each camera to a different channel so I will be able to use remote live view to show all 4 cameras at the same time. I can only show one at a time. Do I need a different version than 3.3 or some obscure windows 7 setting?
Yesterday we had a very brief power outage and until then everything worked fine. Small business that runs modem - router - switch. Since the power outage I can only get internet if I run straight into the modem. As soon as I run from the modem to any (tried 3 different ones) router I lose internet. I get a wireless signal on my router. I've reset the router to default settings. I've plugged in another router to the modem to check and I don't get anything from that router either (which was not plugged in during the power outage).
I'm having a problem viewing devices on my home network. To better explain I created this diagram of my Home Network below.I have a Cisco VPN Router and connected to that I have a Netgear WRN 1000v2 Router & Linksys WRT54G2v1 Router. I used to have my home network connected to only one router and I was able to see and connected to other devices. Now my networks are separated, I think it has something to do with subnet masking and the IP addresses on the routers.
I've got a bit of a weird situation here as soon as I switch on my desktop pc my wireless connection is lost. This is only the desktop pc, I aso have a HTPC on wire, this one doesn't have any problems. If my wireless fails, my wired clients can still go on the internet. (see for detail the drawing at the bottom of this post).
The other weird thing is as soon as I set my wireless to WPA-TKIP there are no problems, but my wireless is set to WPA-AES due to the wireless N standard.
I also noticed as soon as my wireless drops out the router starts changing channels.
Part of my network is DHCP (in the range of 192.168.0.100 - 192.168.0.199) the other part has fixed adresses (192.168.0.251, 192.168.0.253, 192.168.0.254)
What i've tried thusfar - other firmware - replaced cables - rebooting/restarting router - setting up from factory defaults
I bought a DIR-600 a couple of months ago. Days later started experiencing problems, connection would drop, and only way to restore connection was to reset the router. It has its password configured, a secure wireless connection also configured, and Wan Ping is disabled.Yesterday I called D-Link support, and they asked me to update firmware (from 2.03 to 2.05). I did, but problem still here.Today I realized that there is a log section, and when I entered this is what I found?
I am using InnoMedia MTA6328-1Be2S from Reliance and D-link DIR-600 for sharing internet connection. I have a strange problem here after using internet for sometime..I will not be able to use internet unless I shut down and restart both Innomedia and D-link.I tried changing configurations in D-link but with no luck. I lost the connection no matter I am using wireless or wired mode.I do not know how to login to InnoMedia MTA6328-1Be2S as well.
I lost it on my old laptop. Figured it was time to get a new computer anyways, we bought a new one, along with a Playbook. Both the new computer and the Playbook have had this problem, though they were able to fix it.They all use Wi-Fi.
since a couple of days I've a strange behavior in my Spanning-Tree Topology.Every time I plug in a new Switch ( e.g. WS-2960S ) a topology change on my root bridge occurs and all client losing connection to the default gateway. The root bridge is also the default gateway.
Nov 28 11:14:12.865: STP: VLAN0001 Topology Change rcvd on Gi4/48 VLAN0001 is executing the ieee compatible Spanning Tree protocol Bridge Identifier has priority 0, sysid 1, address 0019.aa37.e040 Configured hello time 2, max age 20, forward delay 15 We are the root of the spanning tree
I have just started using D-Link 655 router and ATT DSL connection at home. There is an internet signal. Skype is working. But I can't open any sites. Ie tried typing hotmail, Google, anything - sites do not open. Ive tried to plug in the Ethernet cable directly into my laptop and I get the same result sites don open.
I have a DIR655 and I used to get to see my website from within my network. After a recent crash, I can now only see my website from outside my network.
I have a new apple airport extreme wireless router and have done all the port forwarding and gave the camera a static address and cannot view my camera outside my network. I also have done the dyndns service also. I will note if I change the http port in the camera settings to say 82 I get a black screen and cannot view my camera till I switch back to port 80. Reason why I want to do this is I need to view my camera for more then 60 seconds.
I have a camera set up in my kitchen and it works and I can view it in our house, on other computers or my iphone. But I can't view it from my work or anywhere outside our wireless range. It is a DCS-920. I have opened port 80, and checked it with a port checker and it says its open. I have bell as a provider with a 2 wire 2701hg-g modem.I read on here about someone else not having a gateway address or primary DNS. I don't know what to put in there. My camera address is 192.168.2.20.
My Brother-in-law, who lives in Singapore, uses his DCS-2121s (2x) for monitoring his newborn and it works great!
Me and my wife, who lives here in the US, always views those IPcams through my web browser from my PC (firefox 7.1).
I was just wondering if there is a different way to watch those cameras using my computer. I was looking for a dedicated D-link APP or Program so I don't have to use the browser anymore.
I can access my cameras through the Dlink web site (mydlink), but cannot access all of them through D-View Cam o n my desktop. I do a camera search and it only finds two of them and the third one it doesn't see. I tried to insert it manually and it still doesn't see it. It sees it fine in mydlink.
I've uninstalled the D-View Cam program and re-installed it, with the same results.
My camera saves video as .avi files, but when I open them in Media Player, all I get is sound. The camera works fine, as I can view live video, but the saved files show nothing, just have sound.
view a history of IPs that have connected to my computer. Specifically those that accessed my computer through a remote desktop connection? I believe I can check and see the ip while someone is connected but not after they disconnected.
Is it possible to configure a 3rd party product with D-Link D-Cam View program? We want to combine three D-Link IP cameras DCS-2210 with a epiphan VGADVI Broadcaster (url...). The epiphan product can provide a http mjpeg video stream that can be displayed with a normal Webbrowser, VLC or other programs like that.I can connect to the broadcaster with this URL...
If i run the software CD and activate the cam by "setup your cloud camera" it works and i can see the camera but i can only run it per local router command 192.168.... and there i only have the 320x240 solution. Important info: I only want to run the camera in my local network, i wont use the mydlink option,But if i install the D-ViewCam software the screen remains black and the program wont find my camera. I have already had a phone call with the d-link software
I have successfully setup the camera at home, that I can use the mydlink website to view. But when I go to work and open my IE to view, it does not connect to the camera. Do I know to do something at the router to make it unblock or some sort?
Have installed a TP-Link TL-WN722N wireless USB adapter.O/Sis Win XP SP3.Np options are showing for Wireless networks under Network Connections.Wireless Zero Conifguration is on.When I run a QSS app I can see neighbours network but not my own (My equipment doesn't support QSS) so the card and driver are working.
