Cisco Routers :: RV180 - Subnet Calculation In Static Routes And Routing Table

I've been playing around with the Cisco RV180s for a while now and have come across a problem with the subnet calculation in the static routes and routing table. Essentially, if I configure up a static route for a /16 it's entered in the routing table as a /13. If I add a /24 it's entered in the routing table as a /16. I haven't tested every subnet size and combinations but this looks like a fairly fundamental maths bug.
 
As a side note, I notice that the 1.0.1.9 release notes state the removal of SSH Server, however, I can not find any reference to it's existance prior to 1.0.1.9, did/does it exist in 1.0.0.30 and if so where? .

Routers And Static Routing Table

I am currently using 2 routers. One is a 2wire router with stock firmware it is connecting to the internet and can't be altered all too much, it also has a PC connected to it. The other is a WRT54GL with Tomato on it with pretty much EVERY other PC and device connected to it, it is also connected to the 2wire and DMZ'd through it.What I want to do is somehow allow everything on the Tomato router to have access to the 2wire router's PC. (For media access or printers or whatever on Windows 7)

Cisco :: BGP Routes Not In Routing Table?

We have a BGP / OSPF configuration as shown in the topology picture. When the connection towards Internet is taken down, we expect the traffic to be forwarded toward WAN 2 (preferred) or WAN 1. The problem is that the BGP learned routes disappears when the Internet connection is taken down. The IP routing table on R2 only shows internal networks and the networks between R2 and WAN 1 and 2. No routes to internet is shown. We run "show ip bgp neighbors <ip-to-wan-1-router> received-routes" it contain internet routes. And when we run "show ip bgp neighbors <ip-to-wan-1-router> routes" it contains no routes at all.

Cisco VPN :: 2621 VPN Tunnel Drops Routes Out Of Routing Table

My main issue was trying to connect virtuelly via GNS3 and my router setup on it. I have three Cisco 2621 XM routers set up. They all came with 2 Fast Ethernet ports. However, only one of them has a Serial port. So, what I'm doing is connecting the routers together with the fast ethernet ports using crossover cables. So, I baselined two routers to start with. Very simple AAA, set up IP HTTP server, IP HTTP Secure Server, etc. Privledge lvl 15 access, etc.
 
I then set my Router A's inside Fa0/1 port with a 192.168.1.0/24 network. The outside port Fa0/0 is 10.0.0.0/30 network.Router B is set up similar, 192. 168. 2. 0/24 insice Fa0/1, Fa0/0 is 10.0.0.0/30 network outside. So, three networks 192.168.1.0, 192.168.2.0, 10.0.0.0 network. [code] I then repeated the same on Router B, just transposing 2.0 network for interesting traffic, and Peer 10.0.0.2 for the Fa0/0 interface on Router A.When I "test" the tunnel, I get an error message. So, since I'm connected to Router B (which was working, had routing, and had Router A's network 1.0 in it's routing table), the error msg says that I need to add a route into the routing table (192.168.1.0). It was there up until I attempted to put the VPN in place. It's like it stopped the routing.
 
At face value, it looks like this should be working! But when I debug the ospf process, it looks like hello packets aren't tranversing across to the other side. Is it because I just have the 192.xxx.xxx.xxx networks as "interesting" traffic? Can I have multiple networks marked as "interesting"? I thought that's what the peer statements were doing to allow the tunnel to be established.

We have 2 sites with 2 internet connections at each site. All are SRP527w routers. 1 is for internet and 1 is for a site to site VPN as,Currently we are using Static Routes on the PC's so they can access each server no matter what site they are at. I have looked at using the Static Routes section on the SRP's but cannot get it to work.

Cisco Routers :: RV180 NAT Five Static IPs To 5 VLAN Subnets

I have five static IPs that I would like to fully utilize, by NAT'ing them to internal VLAN subnets.I read that the RV180 can do this, but I am having difficulty in finding a working recipe.I have assigned xxx.xxx.xxx.2 to the RV180 WAN interface.
 
I have created four additional VLANs 2-5 and assigned to ports 1-4 with subnet interfaces 192.168.2.254, 192.168.3.254, 192.168.4.254. and 192.168.5.254,I have set the default VLAN to untagged on all ports. VLANs 2-5 are set to tagged for their respective port (1-4) and exclude for other ports.I have set DHCP relays to 192.168.1.202 which is my DHCP, DNS, AD services.
 
I read some months ago that when the first static IP address is assigned to the WAN port, that the VLAN ports will accept tagged packets on their ports and NAT them to the respective successive static IP (sounds a bit like magic to me). Regardless, I read that the RV180 can provide VLAN subnet NAT to up to 5 static IP address. I am not looking for 1 to 1 NAT, not the same.  I want to perform NAT on the four additional VLANs in the similar manner that VLAN 1 (default DMZ) IPs are NAT'd to the static WAN address. As in everything outbound on 192.168.1.0 is NAT'd to xxx.xxx.xxx.2
 
Additionally I would like all DHCP assigned by my DHCP server which I believe is accomplished with the DHCP relay setting on all five VLAN subnets, which point to the DHCP server 192.168.1.202
 
Lastly, I am trying to configure VPN connectivity into my DMZ network. I have configured a few accounts, enabled for PPTP. I have configured PPTP and am issuing 192.168.1.70-80. The VPN connection seems to work great without the use of Cisco quick VPN. I can see the remote picking up the 192.168.1.71 IP address as the VPN connection is made. From the remote I can ping IP addresses on the DMZ subnet 192.168.1.X   How can I configurer the Cisco RV180 PPTP server to provide the DMZ DNS ipaddresses? These addresses need to be 192.168.1.201 and 192.168.1.202
  
I feel I am almost there, in working out the VLAN subnet to Static NAT. I suspect it will be some routing configurations. The ISP business gateway on the WAN side that I point my router to which is owned by Verizon, is xxx.xxx.xxx.1 I have a /29 making IPs xxx.xxx.xxx.2-6  available to me.

Cisco Routers :: WRV210 Router - Can't Change Static WAN Subnet To 240

In the Internet Setup area (WAN) when I change to Static IP I can't change the Subnet Mask from 255.255.255.0 to 255.255.255.240 which is the information currently in my D-Link router.  When I try to save the changes I get the error "The IP address is not in the right subnet".  I find it hard to believe that a lowly D-Link $35 router has nore capability then a Ciso Small Business Router.

Is there a way to set static routes per VLAN?Example VLAN 100 sends all traffic to 192.168.1.1 and VLAN 200 sends all traffic to 10.1.1.1. (2800 Series RTR)I have 5 networks that have their own gateway to the Internet via satellite link. Those networks run over the same infrastructure on separate VLANs. They frequently send traffic to each other, which gets sent over a slow SAT link. I introduced a router to the network and would like to set all my hosts default gateway to the local routers sub-interface then have a static route that send all traffic that is not on one of my 5 networks back to that VLANs respective SAT modem to get routed out over the Internet.

Cisco Switching/Routing :: SG300 Static Routes Are Not Deleted / Editable

I have a Routing issue with one of my SG300-28P units. It has several Trunked VLANs. I think I habe Narrowed it down to a Default Route on the offending SG300 though I cannot see to change or delete any of the Static Routes on the unit. I can Add Routes with no issues, but once Added I cannot Edit or delete them.

I have 2 connections a single T1 for voip traffic only and a DSL line for data traffic.the dsl was migrated to a 2811 with out any issues now comes the time to move the T1 over.
 
on the T1 side I am able to ping the WAN router and the LAN router IP address but nothing behind it.

currently this is the only statment on the router:
ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 Dialer1
 
as a quick a dirty to remove the above i tried:
no ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 Dialer1
ip route 66.55.110.0 255.255.255.0 Dialer1
 
but the DSL side dropped. we have a 66.55.110.152/29
 
for the T1 i would use the following statement.. we have a 209.98.53.192/27
 
ip route 209.98.53.0 255.255.255.255 65.32.70.177

Is there any way to have my Cisco 877W Router alter from using one static route to another static route when another router on the network is reporting destination host unreachable?
 
Router 1 (192.168.2.253)
Dialer0 -> ppoe to internet
Vlan1 -> local 192.168.2.0/24
 Router 2 (192.168.2.254)
Dialer0 -> ppoe to managed VPN (172.16.28.1)
Vlan1 -> local 192.168.2.0/24
 
Router 2 is connected to another network through a managed VPN and that network also has internet access. I want to be able to have two routes to the internet on Router 2. And when Router 1 internet goes down packets get routed through the VPN instead.
 
I currently have on Router 2
 
ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.2.253
ip route 10.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 Dialer0
ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 172.16.28.5 250
 
Which does nothing when Router 1 has its Dialer0 interface shutdown, or goes offline completely.I suspect I could reverse the setup and have everything routed through the VPN by default and then if / when Dialer0 interface goes down it would switch to using Router 2, but if the problem is in the remote network and interface Dialer0 stays up, it would probably do the same thing... nothing.All devices mentioned are Cisco 877W routers with ADSL and a bunch of fast ethernet interfaces.

Cisco WAN :: 3825 Will Not Add Routes To Topology Table From Eigrp Neighbor

I have a 3825 running c3825-advipservicesk9-mz.124-24.T8. It is configured as an eigrp stub advertising only its connected and static routes. There are three WAN connections using a metro ethernet service. Two are data, one for voice traffic. The primary data connections run to two WAN edge ASR1002 routers.
 
The primary data connection (Gi0/1.943) is 20 Megs, the secondary data connection (Gi0/1.944) is only 15 Megs. Before the secondary connection was in place I only had routes to our backbone via Gi0/1.943 and everything was working great. Some time after the secondary data connection was turned up the routes to the backbone through Gi0/1.943 disappeared from the eigrp topology table causing all data traffic to flow through the less desirable secondary Gi0/1.944 interface to our backbone.
 
There is a good eigrp neighbor relationship between the 3825 and the ASR connected to Gi0/1.943, but if I show ip protocols it does not list the ASR as a data source. I know that the ASR is advertising its routes because I can see the updates coming from it if I debug ip eigrp. For some reason they are just not being added to the topology table by the 3825, not even as a feasible successor.
 
I have shut/no shut the interface multiple times at both ends during troubleshooting and I also reloaded and upgraded the code on the 3825 from 12.4(24)T to 12.4(24)T8. We also contacted the metro ethernet carrier to see if they had a policy that could potentially be blocking the traffic (no). My colleagues and I are just not seeing any feasible reason why these routes are not being added.

I am running an ASA with 8.4(3) and am trying to setup a dynamic VPN tunnel.  We are having a business reason to establish a VPN tunnel to customers who do not have nailed down IP addresses.  Now I found a number of documents that outline the steps involved.  It seems the basic steps were to Establish a regular tunnelAdd dynamic crypto mapAssign the dynamic crypto map to the tunnel created under step 1. While this sounds pretty straight forward and simple, while prepping for doing just this I hot a road block while thinking it through. In order for my ASA to put anything into the tunnel it has to have a route to the remote network pointing at my VPN peer at the  end of the tunnel.  How do I do this in a dynamic tunnel?  How do I add a dynamic route so the ASA knows which tunnel to stuff the traffic into?  How do I stop the traffic from just being send to the Internet?

We have a Cisco 7301 concentrator, well two of them in HSRP configuration.  We have multiple VPN's setup on that router (crypto map based).  Recently we noticed the following:
 
- There is one IP address that has hundreds of static routes for some reason

- VPN for this customer is working, but I'm trying to find out why this is happening. 
 
Here is how it looks like: S 0.0.0.0 0xF5FFFF2C [1/0] via "ip-address".There are hundreds of entries for a single IP there.

D-Link DIR-615 :: IPv6 Static Routes

Will there be a way sometime in the future to add static IPv6 routes?  I have a routed /64 and a routed /48 from a tunnel broker that terminates on my DIR-815, and I want to hang the /48 off of another router that I have attached to my LAN interface(goes to my home lab setup that I use for my job).  I could just move the tunnel endpoint to the other router, but I like having IPv6 access for all my other PCs on the LAN segment.

In datasheet of  WS-SUP720-3B - link- was said that are only supported around 256K routes (fib?rib?).With this value I can't get 2 full bgp - that is around 850K ..
 
The supervisor is that control this or just memory ? I said this because I have a 7204-npe-g1 whith 2 fullrouting and 1G of and he are ok..

D-Link DIR-825 :: No Ability To Create Static LAN Routes?

Ok I realise that the 825 doesn't have the ability to create static LAN routes. Is there a workaround or is this somthing that may be implemented in the future. It's a real let down to find this feature missing in an expensive router such as this.

Cisco WAN :: 1841 Floating Static Routes Configured If DSL Link Goes Down

I am having some trouble configuring dual NAT on a Cisco 1841.
 
The 1841 has three interfaces.
Fa0/0 - LAN
Fa0/1- Different private network
Fa0/1/0 - Connection to DSL modem
 
NAT overloading is configured on Fa0/1 and we have traffic that must be router there. We would like to have all internet access go through the DSL modem. Currently internet access is obtained through fa0/1 but is not ideal. I have floating static routes configured if the DSL link goes down. (Which is currently unplugged) I do not have physical access to the router at this moment. We would like to keep the config a simple as possible. It seems like route-maps may be one of our only options.

Cisco WAN :: 876 - DHCP Client Injects Static Routes In Config

I have a Cisco 876 router running 12.4.(15)T5, configured as DHCP client.  This works nicely.
 
A Cisco 886 router, running 15.1 software also works with the DHCP client.  This also works but has the following strange beheaviour: In the running-config an ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 <dhcp assigned address> appears. Also - some other static routes that are in the config using the dhcp keyword are duplicated with the dhcp-assigned address
 
Now - when a write mem is done, these dhcp-generated route entry's are stored in the startup-config...
 
This beheaviour is completely different and VERY unwanted.  After a change from DHCP server the config will simply stop working, when a write mem was done at the first DHCP situation.
 
Should we stop using write mem commands when a DHCP client is active in IOS?  Is it a bug? Is it a feature?

Cisco VPN :: Anyconnect Clients Not Following Internal Static Routes On ASA5505

I have just purchased an ASA 5505 for my remote users to access our internal network.  I have followed all the setup instructions I can find.  I am able to establish a VPN connection using the Anyconnect client and can see some of my internal network. (Basically, only the subnet of the internal interface)  However, I have several subnets inside my LAN which are routed by another switch inside my LAN.  I have built in the correct static routes so that the ASA will send traffic to that intenal routing switch for any subnets not part of it's inside interface subnet.  I can see and ping those subnets from the ASA itself but the AnyConnect clients cannot.
