View 4 RepliesRecently I have switched from DSL to Comcast Cable. In the PPoE settings you can disable DNS from ISP. However, now since I have to use DHCP I cannot disable the DNS from ISP.If I change the DNS on the LAN or change the DNS in my adapter properties (in local machine) this makes my Brother printer loose connectivity. How can I get the openDNS servers on the WAN side of the RV220?I do not have a static ip address from Comcast either....
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to configure DHCP option 150 on the RV220? I have a Cisco 7940 IP phone that is trying to connect back to my office. The VPN is up and I can ping the relevant server but I can't see any way to configure the DHCP option.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm running a Windows Server 2008 R2 connected via cable to my RV220. The server is hosting several websites running in separate virtual machines. These websites are accessible through a reverse proxy set up on the 2008 R2. In addition the 2008 R2 provides access to storage over Windows file sharing (client backup, file sharing ...). Most of the clients are connected via wireless. My problem is that after some time (~24h) I lose the connection to the services provided by the 2008 R2 server as a result of (host) name resolution has stopped working. This only happens for wireless clients. Wired clients are not affected. To give more details: Network clients connected via wireless can't see clients connected via Ethernet and the network shares are not accessible anymore (even by putting in manually "\hostnameshare", but "\[IP address]share" still works). Being connected via Ethernet the communication between client and server works flawlessly - the server appears immediately on the network device list. The other way around is also not possible: the server can’t see clients connected via wireless. The reverse proxy is still accessible through wireless connection by putting in the IP address, e.g. "http://192.168.1.123/homepage" but "http://hostname/homepage" won't work.A restart of the router will fix things but only for the next couple of hours.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've began having problems with the WRV210 where the router just reboots. Sometimes it may go for an hour or more then it slips into a series of reboots. The up time varies so I see no pattern. Contacted support they thought the device may have been defective so we did a RMA. Well guess what? The replacement arrived on Friday we put it in place and the same thing is happening. We are not using any of the VPN or VL options. Just simple PAT to a few internal machines for RDP access and an internal exchange server. The Qos is all disabled. It has the newest firmware which I have reflashed. I'm at a loss to explain the behavior but it doesn't appear to be isolated to a defective device.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI have an ongoing problem with my WRVS4400N router. It reboots on it's own when streaming video through a wireless connection (computer, xbox, roku, tv). Once I make a wired conection, it performs flawlessly. The firmware is up to date. I have read some reviews of this router on Amazon stating the same problem, but I expected it to be solved with firmware update. Unfortunately, this was not the case.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased the RV220W to upgrade by good, but aging RV042. I'm running the most recent firmware (1.0.2.4 as of this writing) and have noticed this router reboots daily. I'm guessing it's locking up and rebooting as it occurs as different times of the day. Compared to the RV042, this was a bit of a pain to setup especially with regard to port forwarding. I'm hesitant to reset and start over again especially since this is brand new.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have problem with RV120W router, device reboots very often ( up to 3-4 times during working day ), firmware is up to date ( 1.0.4.10 ), last week I decided to use "restore the factory defaults" unfortunately problem still exists.
Router is working in small office, there are 3 PC and 3 VOIP phones ( connected via LAN ) and 1-2 devices connected via wireless ( smartphones )
I've tried to view some logs but unfortunately no luck, can see some errors/warnings in dashboard ( see attached picture ) but cannot see more details ( log configuration wrong ? )
Additionally sometime I can see that CPU utilization is 100%
I have a N750 and I want to change the IP address through the browser. It is the standard 192.168.2.1 config. I change the IP to 192.168.15.x while hard wired and hit apply. The router reboots but still holds the same IP.

View 2 Replies View RelatedN+ requires constant reboots to maintain speed. When I reboot the router F5D8235-4 v3 it will run at top speed of 10mbps, after a day or two it slows to about 2mpbs. A reboot will speed it up again. I would prefer that it run fast all the time. Firmware 3.00.15
View 12 Replies View RelatedI've been tasked with redesigning a small network (15-20) including wireless. Cisco recommends the RV220 as the entry point Firewall/Router/Wireless and researching there are apparently some good and bad sides of having everything all in one unit depending on who you ask. The other option would be to get a dedicated Firewall/Router and then run the wireless on a seperate device(vlan). I'm fine with either solution but my main concern is performance on the physical connections as well as reliability with the wireless having good range and not dropping or having to reboot the router continuously. Behind the router/firewall I will purchase one of the Cisco 24-port gig switches for physical connections through the office. How to get for the router/firewall/wireless setup? Budget is not a problem although I don't want to pay for something that is overkill for 10-15 wired workstations and 5-10 wireless including a guest wireless.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI bought it without a a windows installation because i already had a copy of vista 64 cd which I installed when I got the computer. Then I realized vista couldnt handle the amount of ram my computer had or support some of the other new hardware, so i went online and purchased a copy on Windows 7 for 600dollars and digitally downloaded it from a non microsoft site, as it turned out after I installed it the cd validation key was not included in the purchase sadly so I was running it as trial version for 30 days.Anyhow, at some point (and it has been going on for awhile) my router reboots quite frequently when I am online playing games such as Civilization 5 , world of warcraft and CoD on this computer. Sometimes it can reboot up to 3-4 times an hour if I'm really unlucky! When I'm not playing games and just surfing the web it is rare the router restarts, and while I sleep I keep my computer online and it dont reboot at all.
So it is basically when I play online games this occurs the most. However! If I play games online on my laptop or playstation 3 the router -never- reboots, so it's obvious the problem is not the router itself since it works with my ps3 and laptop but not my stationary gaming computer
My new small router 866vae crashes and makes cold reboots every 20-30 minutes. I updated IOS, but it didn't work. The logs show texts like this:

I continue to have significant performance and random reboots with DIR-825 router (hardware: Rev A1; Firmware: 1.13NA). My ISP has checked the lines to my cable modem. If I connect any of my laptops or PCs directly to the cable modem and work off the direct connect, all works fine with no problems for many days and even mutliple weeks. So, the router seems to be the bottleneck/issue.
I've tried multiple settings changes as listed in the forum here. My setup is fairly simple and detailed below.
Setup -> Internet:
-- Dynamic IP (DHCP)
-- I have disabled "Enable Advanced DNS Service"
-- "Use Unicasting" is enabled
-- I have primary and secondary DNS servers set

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe've had UVerse for about a year now - but lately we've had weird problems:
-about every 2-4 weeks, the router will spend a night constantly locking up and rebooting itself. ATT says they don't know why, and wanted me to check the power?? When it does this, it will do it for 30 minutes to TWO HOURS.
-every couple of days, the channels will freeze. If we change channels and then back, it returns to normal for a bit. Sometimes for a while, sometimes only for a minute. We have two boxes, each one does it. Even affects DVR playback. Internet doesn't seem to be affected, so I had originally though it was the boxes. ATT has remoted in, and can't find anything out of the ordinary.
I recently upgraded to Docsis 3.0 Routers Homenetworking Modem.Speeds are more than I am paying for when using WirelessOnly problem is. When I start a torrent in Bitcomet my whole modem will "disconnect".Including all the computers connected via Ethernet Cable.I have had the modem exchanged, same thing.I am not using a Router. The modem has wifi which I use.The modem stays online it's just that is loses its internet connection, I have had a technician over to see for him self, he didn't know what to do, he tried swapping the modem. Same thing.

I have 2 Cat 6509-E switches in VSS configuration with 2 ACE modules. One in each Cat6k.
The ACE modules are running the following:
Software
loader: Version 12.2[120]
system: Version A2(3.2a) [build 3.0(0)A2(3.2a)]
We have only 2 contexts, the Admin and another one that we redirect traffic to WAAS equipment. The ANM soft running is only used for stats about the ACEs. It is version 5.2.
Since last week, the standby ACE module reboots on it own. It rebooted between 10 and 15 times until we had to leave the module PwrDown due to the constant reboots.
I tried to find any bug in the soft but I could not find anything related to that.
WAP200E access point that causes it to reboot after anything from 15 to 20 mins .I have run it off an injector and a POE switch, updated the f/w to WAP200E-ETSI-FW-2.0.3.0 and it still reboots itself .I have even been sent a new one from the supplier and it does the same thing.
