Cisco Switching/Routing :: 3560C Amber LED But No Error
Mar 22, 2013
I have a PS3 connected to a Gig port on my 3560. When I boot-up the PS3 I have to wait around 30 seconds for it to get DHCP.
I noticed the orange LED would stay on and go green after 30 seconds. I assumed I would have an error-state but I do not, the port show connected with no errors even though it's orange. I have no connectivity from the ps3 until the light goes green and then all is well. The port is access and I have manually configured duplex and speed.

I have an office that I need switchports for 24 cubicals that need 2 network ports each with POE. The problem is due to my cable path the switches need to be right at the cubicles themselves and they need to have no noise.
The compact switches are quiet enough but in order to get the density I need I will have to use 4 3560C-12PC-S and they don't have stacking cables.
My question is, is there a POE enabled switch that is larger than 12 ports or has stacking capabilities or is the 3560C-12PC-S or 2960C-12PC my only options?
I have a Cisco catalyst switch 3750G has all LED lights staying amber still without blinking, I cannot console into it and it can’t boot past the POST.
THE ISSUE HAPPENED ON THE NETWORK AND IT WAS ISOLATED FROM THE NETWORK, SO NOW I AM TRYING TO RESOLVE IT OUTSIDE THE NETWORK
I have (2) Sup 32 configured in a 6509 chassis. I have 1 power supply plugged into the wall and 1 power supply that is not plugged into anything but it is in the chassis and has green light to show that it has been recognized.
My problem is the "system light" on both sup32 remains amber and does not turn green. I have done show modules and sh diagnostics and sh power and everything checks out OK. Also there is an amber light on "active" on the 2nd Sup32 which I am assuming means that it is in standby mode so that would be correct.
Q: My question is could it be the power supply that is not plugged into anything causing the "system light" to stay amber and not turn green? Q: Will this amber system light on the Sup32 stop the 6509 from running as normal?
In our company 3nos Cisco 3750 (WS-C3750-48P) access switch in stake mode. All port are assigned with voice and data Vlan also Avaya IP connected with this switches. From last few days tow port 2/0/7 and 2/0/8 is showing amber and status is showing err-disable. At Avaya end it is showing a message “ETHERNET WAITING” in phone dispaly. I try to connect laptop directly with these ports but it is showing "Cross Connectivity". [code]
The router 1841 is connected directly to the layer switch. the network diagram is below:
Office A --> Switch (L3) --> Router 1841 --> Internet --> Office B
However, when I transfer the file from Office A to office B, the speed very slow ( only around 40 kb/second), and there are an input error and CRC error:
Cisco-R1841#sh interfaces FA0/1 FastEthernet0/1 is up, line protocol is up Hardware is Gt96k FE, address is 0019.e02f.03dd (bia 0019.e02f.03dd)
I am in the datasheets page for Cisco 3560C Compact switch and states that it ships with IP Base image that "includes the support for routed access, MACsec, and Open Shortest Path First (OSPF)"

Does this image come with the full fledged OSPF feature or is it a cut-down version of it?

After formatting the CF, the router is able to see the flash without a problem. I copied files to the flash - still able to see the contents okay. The problem ia that if i restart the router with the new flash, i get this error:

I have just moved to the 3750X switch and have connected it to a 6509E. From the beginning I was having OSPF encryption errors, followed by flood warnings, LSA issue's, duplicate IP's which is baffling me.
There are no IP's which match on either switch however the 3750X was continually power recycling causing the interfaces drop continually.Even after disconnecting from the 6509 the 3750X continue to behave in the same manner. Could there be some issue with this switch?
I've taken 2 4507's fresh out of the box running CAT4500E-ENTSERVICESK9-MZ.122-53.SG2.BIN which was upgraded from CAT4500E-IPBASEK9-MZ.122-53.SG2.BIN
I'm getting constant %C4K_S2W-4-WRITECALENDARERR: Calendar write operation Failed errors on the console. I was also getting them on the original IOS version.
Anything I've seen say's to ignore them but their very frequent filling up the logs.
There's very little return on google and no bugs to report on Cisco?
We're seeing "OutDiscard" error on a LAN switch connected to newly migrated Cisco IP phones. All the other error counters are clean except for the OutDiscard. (please see attached "show int count err" output.) [URL].
According to the link above, the common cause of such discards can be to free up buffer space.(Am I seeing a switch buffer issue?) How to identify/resolve the cause of the OutDiscard. The switch is 3750-E running c3750e-universalk9-mz.122-44.SE6.bin
on IOS versions higher than 12.2(50) on Cisco 3560G-48TS I get this error/traceback, when I reach a certain number of Access-lists group'ed to "interface vlan", and the ACL inserted in the TCAM reaches acl label #128 (can be seen with : Show platform acl label 128)I can see errors in the TCAM if I issue the command

I encountered problem while trying to copy file from Nexus 5548 to my ftp server (proteus - 192.168.12.220 - the Nexus switch is able to resolve name proteus correctly to 192.168.12.220). See below the working and not working scenarios. I have serached through Cisco Bug Database but unable to find any related bug associated to this problem. This Nexus is running the following NX-OS version.
n5000-uk9-kickstart.5.1.3.N1.1a.bin n5000-uk9.5.1.3.N1.1a.bin Working (without specifying the username and full path)
I'm having some problems when upgrading the IOS of my Catalyst 3750 switch through a tftp server. I've been surfing the net and found that there seems to be a problem when the image file is larger than 16M but this is not my case.I erased the flash to be sure that there was enough memory space to upload the image but didnt work.I also tried with archive download-sw /overwrite command and using a ftp server but the problem is the always the same: [code]To make sure it was not a problem of my computer or tftp server, I tried with a different computer and with a different tftp server but the same happen. I also tried with a 3750V2 and still the same. Even when trying to backup the current IOS to my computer, I got "error writing".
Then, I have tried to do the same with a different model of switch, a WS-C3560-48PS and it works perfect.I still need to try using Xmodem but Xmodem takes ages to finalize the process.
I was trying to give the following host name to my 3925 router.Iht comes up with the following error. DRT0(config)#hostname DRT#0 % Hostname contains one or more illegal characters.% Hostname "DRT#0" is not a legal LAT node name, Using "CISCO_000000" DRT#0(config)#
We have a VSS environment with two Cisco 6509-Es. This issue temporarily relieves when reseating the X2 module, but reappears after reloading the switch.
