I know that an ELAM can be setup on a 6500 running ipservices 12.2(33)SXJ, however I noticed that following commands are not available on a 6500 router running advipservices 12.2(33)SXJ:show platform capture elam asic etc
So I wanted to know if there is an alternate way to setup an ELAM for troubleshooting purposes?
On a 3750 you can do a show platform port-asic stats drop command. Is there a corresponding command for 6500 chassis?

We are running in our DC one of the CISCO 2911 terminal server which is connected with HP ARC sight logger.
it is possible to capture user who execute ‘Telnet” or “show line” in the log, I mean all the command entries by user.
How to enable any config on 2911.
I have been working on some Catalyst 3750's running 12.2(55)SE6 and hit an issue with CEF load-balancing over multiple equal-cost paths. Anyway this issue is now solved but it introduced me to the command 'show platform forward' - this shows you how the forwarding of a packet would be done via hardware cef (as opposed to the command 'sho ip cef exact-route' command that only shows the software cef path). Anyway I tried the command on a 3560G running 15.0(2)SE and it crashes the switch. I tried it a couple of times and verified that the MAC & IP addresses were exactly right in the command and each time the switch crashes. I have extracted the relevant bits from the crashinfo and attached them.

any VLAN interface once administratively down or simply down shows on "show interface status" output as VLAN.While it supposed to show "Routed". However once the port is up it is shows "routed" like it should.
I've just noticed an error I've never seen before in our switch logs. We have a stack of 6 Cat3750G-48TS-E switches. The first two in the stack have been up for just over a year and I've only just noticed this error. Thus far, I haven't noticed any symptoms - I just stumbled upon this error while checking for something else.
As far as I can tell, this has only popped up once and it was 2 days ago. Unfortunately, due to an incorrect firewall rule, our syslogs were not getting to our syslog server so I don't have any historical logs to check against, but it hasn't happened since.

I have a 48-port 3750G switch (model # WS-C3750G-48TS-S). How do I determine which ports are grouped per ASIC on the 3750G switch? For example, is the grouping ports 1-8 is serviced by ASIC 1, ports 9-16 is serviced by ASIC 2, ports 17-24 is serviced by ASIC 3, etc. If it exists, what is the IOS command to show the mapping of ports to ASIC?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have configured a vlan interface on a 3750 switch. there is aprox 4Mb active traffic flowing through the interface, but when I do a "show interface vlan (vlanid)" the output show zero bits in and zero bits out. Its a typical L3 config with one IP on the vllan interface acting as the gateway for the VLAN devices. Is this a normal behaviur ? and if so is there any way to get the traffic in/out stats. The end PC/devices are connected to this switch via an L2 TRUNK and I dont have access to the L2 switch on which the actual devices connect. so cant get the real time stats of those interfaces.

I have always done my port monitoring (SPAN) on Cisco layer 3 switches with no issues. This time I am trying to do this on a Cisco 2901 router:

I need to have the source port gig0/0 and destination port gig0/1. There is something about the gig port enumeration (slot/port#) that makes the command rejected. It is self explanatory:

It doesn't matter what slot or port number I use, it is always rejected. The command is rejected for Both destination and source gig interfaces. I tried a wide variety of slot/port numbers. To my best understanding the complete port names are: GigabitEthernet0/0 and GigabitEthernet0/1, so why does it think there has to be another digit after 0/0 or 0/1? Does it have anything to do with the Embedded-Service-Engine0/0 being administratively down?
I got the error in object when I try to add a new HSRP group in new vlan.All the HSRP group has the same HSRP group the 2.another way to provide clients's default gateway redundancy for each Vlan intead to use the HSRP?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am having problems with IGMP and QoS on CAT6500 platform with SUP720 engine.The problem is, it seems that all IGMP packets are getting marked with DSCP 48 when sent out of the switch regardless of any input service policy. I found several articles saying that PFC QoS does not apply to IGMP packets. However in IOS 15 that should be possible, but I didn't get it to work there either. [code]

The device is running OSPF (it is in an NSSA). I have several other devices configured almost the same running the same IOS in my network and they are working fine.This does make the third out-of-box 3560C Cisco that has failed on me within a few days.

I want to do a monitor session on on the switch so I can capture from a source port to a destination port on the same switch. I can configure the source port but when I go to configure the destination port I get "ERROR: Eth102/1/4: Configuration not allowed on fex interface". I have tried to reconfigure this port as a switchport but "switchport mode access" command does not take. I don't want to make any changes to any other ports but this one.

The 6506's are running CEF but the 3560's are not (The 3560's carry all our server traffic).When I do a show CEF on the 3560's it says %IPv4 CEF not running. There does not appear to be a global command to enable CEF on these switches.Is this an IOS version option or is not supported on the hardware platform?
