View 2 Replies View Relatedour network is spread over 15 floors and each floor we have 5-6 switches. we are planning to purchase cat3750-x 24 ps poe with C3KX-NM-10G network modules. Each floor has two up links to the core switch with single mode fiber and other being the multimode.Suppose if we are purchasing 75 switches do we have to purchase 75 C3KX-NM-10 G modules.? or can we limit our purchase with 15 C3KX-NM-10G sothat two uplinks from each floor can be made? since network modules are optional cost factor is invovled. Or any issue with stacking ? the SFPs will be LR and LRM MODULES.looking for an answer ? whether the new usb type console cable comes bundled with cat350x or shall we have to order separately?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI need to connect one sw3750E with two 3750X , with Uplinks at 10 GBps. My doubt is the next:
Switch 3750E has two TwinGig Adapter Converting 10 Gigabit Ethernet X2, phisically each twinGig adapter has 2 slots for SFP modules. Can I install sfp+ If I want to use copper for Uplink at 10 Gbps, I just need to install one SFP-H10GB-CU5M transceiver ???? the other SFP slot is disabled automatically?
in the other side 3750X in order to support copper at 10 Gbps a C3KX-NM-10G network module is considered, this will be connected to SW3750E by means of SFP-H10GB-CU5M.
The second 3750X will be connected to second twinGig Adapter of 3750E using another SFP-H10GB-CU5M transceiver.
We have a 2960S using a single SFP-10GBase-SR to our Core switch. We are planning connecting the 2960S to a pair of Nexus 5k switches using Copper SFPs. We are already doing this on another 2960S so I didn't expect any surprises.
When I removed the unused SFP-10GBase-SR from te1/0/2, the interface was removed from the config and a gi1/0/50 was created in its place. Once I inserted the SFP-H10GB-CU3M, I expected that it would create a new te1/0/2 interface, but it didn't. I got the following errors: %GBIC_SECURITY_CRYPT-4-VN_DATA_CRC_ERROR: GBIC in port Gi1/0/50 has bad crc %PM-4-ERR_DISABLE: gbic-invalid error detected on Gi1/0/50, putting Gi1/0/50 in err-disable state
I didn't personally order the cables, but there is no Cisco label on them, so I'm assuming it is a 3rd party SFP. After looking at other posts related to unsupported SFPs, I ran the following commands: no errdisable detect cause gbic-invalid service unsupported-transceiver
After reconnecting the SFP, it didn't go into err-disable, but I still received the following error: %GBIC_SECURITY_CRYPT-4-VN_DATA_CRC_ERROR: GBIC in port Gi1/0/50 has bad crc
My other working 2960S appears to be using 3rd party SFP as well, but I can't see the brand. Is there anything else worth trying or should I just suck it up and order Cisco SFPs?
I have two 3750G switches stacked together however it's not in a full ring configuration:
Stack Ring Speed : 16G
Stack Ring Configuration: Half
Stack Ring Protocol : StackWise
And as shown below it's obvious which cable is not working:
show switch neighbors
Switch # Port 1 Port 2
-------- ------ ------
1 2 None
2 None 1
It's not flapping - it's like the cable isn't there at all. I'm going to try reseating the cable in there and perhaps an all out replacement if necessary. My question - is there any threat of a reboot of the switch stack or of partitioning of the switch stack by trying to get the 2nd cable working?
Any information on supervisor WS-X45-SUP7L-E? I saw that it has 520Gbps of backplane, but does it supports Netflow? How many uplink does it has?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have connected 2 SG500x switches using an SFP-H10GB-CU1M SFP+ Copper Cable module. Since the port shows as a 10G port, I would expect the speed to show as 10G as well. However, it shows as "Unknown". This doesn't leave me with confidence that it is being recognized properly. The link is working properly, but I haven't run tests to verify if I'm getting full 10G throughput or not. Shouldn't it show 10G as the link speed?

I have a 3750-x switch with module C3KX-NM-10G. In slots 1 and 3 I have GLC-T inserted, no problem. When I try to insert GLC-T into slots 2 or 4, I receive the log messages that are listed below. I can swap/mix and match different GLC-T's in slots 1,2,3, and 4, the SFP's are recognized every time in slots 1 and 3, and are never recognized in slots 2 or 4.
Slots 2 and 4 also double as the Ten Gig interfaces, which we are not using right now.Is there some trick to getting the switch to recognize SFPs in slots 2 and 4? [code]
confirm the C3KX-NM-10G module is hot-swappable.i have checked the cisco's website and it says " Although network modules are hot-swappable, we recommend installing a network module before powering the switch"
What steps i need to follow to install the module?
We are planning for the first installation of 4500 switches containing these supervisor modules. I'm trying to determine the interface numbering convention for ports on the supervisors. Our existing 4500E all have SUP6 modules with twin-gig converters - so I am familiar with the numbering conventions used on those supervisors. How does this change with the software based selection command "hw-module uplink select" used in SUP7?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have C3750X with C3KX-NM-10G, and have-T SFP in slot 3 ( means it is not in SFP+ slot ).I need to set speed&duplex hard to 100/Full, but if I do the link goes down. I have the same settings on the other side, only IOS version is different.I tried other speeds - 10 and 1000, but no one works with Full. When I change duplex to Auto it works fine. The reason why I am doing this on C3KX-NM-10G is because I need to use NetFlow and cannot use the chassis' copper port. At the moment the ports are connected through a copper patch cord, but in full production there will be a radio link in between that requires 100M/Full to be set hard.I am trying to search for any document that would describe this limitation, but cannot find any. Also port capabilities do not indicate duplex could not be set to full:

View 1 Replies View RelatedA product I could have used a number of times is a expanded version of the C3KX-NM-1G device module. To include 2 or maybe 4 more SFP ports. From the layout behind the faceplate there is plenty of space which additional circuit boards could be placed, (which is used in the 2 port 10GB version). I don't need the 12 port fiber switch that Cisco has, because I need a few RJ45 connection at that location, which I would then have to buy additional Fiber to coper Gbics for a few connections where the switch is at. The reason I need something like this is I have a few locations which I get a main feed from the City fiber, then it gets sent out to a number of local buildings on my fiber. Maybe another option is to take the 12port switch, and have an option for 6 rj45 and 6 sfp connections.

I know that the C3KX-NM-10GT network module has two (copper) ports that support speeds of 1Gps or 10Gps. Could this module work with one port at 1Gb and the second port at 10gb simultaneosly? It's possible to work each port of the module with different speed (one port working on 1Gb mode and the other working on 10Gb mode)?
