Linksys Wireless Router :: Resetting Password On WRT120N?

Dec 24, 2011

Turns out one of the relatives changed the router name and password, and in a fit of brilliance, forgot to WRITE THE NEW USERNAME/PASSWORD DOWN!So I typed in 192.168.1.1 and tried literally every combination I know.   NOTHING works tried rebooting the WRT120N.   I tried both holding the reset button in, as well as holding the reset button in along with pulling the power adapter cord.   Neither of these achieved the desired result (which would be the resetting of the factory username and password to "admin/admin".

Jan 9, 2013

How do I either retrieve or reset the router password?  To edit it you have to have the current password, which it doesn't display.  If I want to reset it do I have to do a factory reset on the router?  If I do that, then I have to set everything up again.

Linksys Wireless Router :: Wrt54g V2 Reset Button Not Resetting Password?

May 13, 2013

I was given this router (it's my 3rd one) and cannot get the reset button to reset the password. I have run throught a 30/30/30 reset as well as just holding the button in for the standard 30 seconds.

I know the router works, as in i can ping it. It asks for a password when i go to 192.168.1.1, but *blank* and "admin" do not work. When i click the cancel button it displays a pink(salmon) screen that says "401 Unauthorized Authrization required". (all of this is when i am connected to it with an ethernet cable to #1)

When it's sitting there it has an led lit over power and one ove wlan which flickers from time to time.

Cisco Firewall :: ASA5505 Disable DHCP On ASA And Enable On WNDR3700

May 13, 2013

I have ASA5505 as my main router (192.168.15.1) and it currently it also serves as DHCP server.  I have a WNDR3700 (192.168.15.2) which work as an access point and it provide wireless access for wireless devices.  I have few dhcp clients where i can't setup static IP, and i want to restrict them to use static IP through MAC reservation.

1. Make ASA5505 to do the MAC reservation f, which will be easy setup for me.  But as per my search its not possible.

2. Disable dhcp on ASA and enable dhcp on my WNDR3700.  i tired this and dhcp clients are getting IP from wndr3700, but the problem is dhcp clients gateway defaults to 192.168.15.2 (as well as dns) and therefore no internet connection.

Cisco Firewall :: ASA5505 Can't Ping Device

May 22, 2012

I have interited an ASA5505 problem. We're trying to manage the ASA remotely - we can connect to the device remotely via IPSec, we can ping other devices on the LAN network, but cannot ping the inside interface of the ASA - nor can we telnet/ssh/http to it.  We can, however, connect to another router that's on the LAN and then SSH into the ASA's inside interface.

My IP via VPN: 10.133.20.8
The ASA interface we're trying to connect to via SSH or ASDM: 10.4.209.254
A router on the LAN we can connect to 10.4.209.250

We can ping other LAN devices such as 10.4.209.75, .90, .150 - so it's not a NAT/Route/Split Tunnel issue.I've attached the ASA config.

hostname ASA5505
enable password XXXXXXXXXXX encrypted
passwd XXXXXXXXXX encrypted
names
name 10.4.209.248 rpm_router

Cisco Firewall :: ASA5505 - Remote Device Or Resource Won't Accept Connection

Dec 21, 2012

I installed a CISCO ASA5505 with 50 user license  to my network as the gateway firewall. So ASA is acting as the gaeway router which is connected to a fibre circuit and also it gives DHCP to the network. The strange thing is that except for two computers rest does not have internet. I also have an asterisk phone system which works fine..

I tried everything.... static IP's DHCP, DNS nothing worked. But strange enough two computers works fine and have internet.. but are no special computers. One is Win XP and the other one is Win7. When I troubleshoot the problem in win 7 on one of the computers it says

"The remote device or resource won't accept the connection"

Cisco WAN :: 888e Enable Password Changed

Oct 23, 2012

Today I wanted to change my passwords on my router Cisco 888e.I connect by telnet my router and access the enable mode. Then, I set my enable password to passwordxxx with the command enable password password1.After a show run, i could see in this config my new password correctly set. Then, I set my enable secret password to passwordxxx (the same) with the command enable secret password password1.I log off the enable mode.Try to log on with the command en but when I type the new or the old password, I receive a 'Access denied' message.

And I'm sure of the new one because on my command line to define it I could see this new password in clear! What are my solutions to access the enable mode again? If I reboot my router, it'll run the previous config file with the old password? I've only worked on the running config file and haven't apply these changes to the nvram.
