Cisco WAN :: 1841 VPN Tunnel - Cannot Access Remote Lan From Router

Dec 15, 2010

I can ping across the tunnel from the pc's on either end of the tunnel, but I can't ping across the tunnel from the routers. If i ping using the source command using the LAN interface, the ping is successfull.

The reason i need this is for the remote router to be able to lookup the head office server for dns wins and ldap.

Cisco VPN :: 1841 Remote Access Not Working Right

May 27, 2011

I have setup a remote access on our 1841 device, with split tunnel.

now i am able to connect via the vpn tunnel, and even ping and telnet into the cisco device, but when i try to ping any device past the 1841, the ping fails and no traffic is even been encrypted to go over the vpn traffic (looking at the vpn client statistics).

From the ciscos side, pings to the vpn client is failing, yet i see the vpn client in the routing table.

Cisco VPN :: Cannot Access Remote LAN On EZVPN With DVTI 1841

Mar 18, 2011

configured Ezvpn Server/client with client mode configuration on IOS router with ver advipservicesk9-mz.124-15.T3.bin of ISR 1841 routers. Only my main issue is that once the tunnel is up I cant access the server side local LAN. However I could each site my icmp traffic is encrypt or decrypt but not both at the same time. However I can ping from the server to the client ip address which is assigned by the pool (int loopback10000)

Also once the tunnel is up I could also see there's static route towards the client side via virtual-access interface and also static route on client side. I have already configure SPLIT ACL on server side allowing the required network access.Attached is the configuration of both server and client with all required show output.

Cisco VPN :: Setup A Remote Access VPN On ASA5505 Firewall

Jun 2, 2013

I have setup a Remote access VPN on my ASA5505 firewall through the ASDM wizard.I can successfully connect with the Cisco VPN client. My firewall also shows me the VPN session and shows incoming Rx packets. However, Tx packets remain 0, so no traffic is going out. My ASA5505 is configured as router on a stick with 25 different VLAN's. I want to restrict traffic to one specific VLAN using a crypto map. When I issue a ping -t command on my connected Windows box, the firewall log shows me the following message:

"IKE Initiator unable to find policy: Intf outside, Src: 10.7.11.18, Dst: 172.16.1.1."

"This message indicates that the IPSec fast path processed a packet that triggered IKE, but IKE's policy lookup failed. This error could be timing related. The ACLs that triggered IKE might have been deleted before IKE processed the initiation request. This problem will most likely correct itself." [code] I have really no idea what's going on. I have setup a Remote access VPN countless times but this time it shows me the error as described above.

Setup Linksys 3200 Remote Access

Oct 3, 2012

I'm trying to setup remote access for my linksys 3200 so that I can configure it through the WAN port. I have turned on remote access, however when I try to connect I get a 404 error. The settings I have are:

When I try to access xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:9999 I just get a 404 error. I have allowed RDP access to a computer behind the router and this works fine on the same IP address. what else I have to do to allow remote management access?

UPDATE: I tried changing the port to 80 and it works. Change it back to any other number and it doesn't work. Modem is setup with a DMZ to the router's IP. Why does it only work on port 80? BTW I can't use port 80 because there is a website hosted behind the router.

Cisco Switching/Routing :: 1841 - Unable To Ping Remote Gateway Or Hosts On Other Side Of Router

May 30, 2012

I am just setting up a simple scenario with a 1841. Server @ 172.31.1.1 cannot ping 172.31.0.254 or 172.31.0.105. It can ping 172.31.1.250. The router can, on the other hand, ping devices on both networks. This is just for testing routing theory so I don't know why hosts on either side of the network cannot ping each other.

I am only using the FastEthernet interfaces on Router 1841.

Cisco WAN :: 1841 / Getting Performance Based Routing Setup

Apr 27, 2011

Here is my setup:

Cisco 1841 Software (C1841-ADVIPSERVICESK9-M), Version 15.1(2)T1, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
 Cisco Internal IP:192.168.X.254
Cisco External IP 64.X.X.5 (NAT)
 Netopia DSL Router:
Internal IP: 192.168.X.253
Exernal: 76.X.45.3

Now the DSL was installed a while back for a different need and now that need is gone. What Id like to is have the Cisco router do performance routing and send out internet traffic to either its own external IP or send it over to the DSL if it can get a better response. Presently, Since the Cisco is my gateway, the DSL line is sitting idle.

Cisco Infrastructure :: 2811 / 1841 / WIC-1AM-V2 - Setup POTS Dial Connection Between 2 Routers?

I would like to set up a POTS Dial connection between 2 Cisco routers, using the modem card WIC-1AM-V2. I'd like to use this as an out-of-band connection to a remote site, if the primary internet connection fails. So, this setup will only be used in one direction, 1 router placing calls, the other one receiving calls. Here's my config of the receiving router:

chat-script dial "" ATZ AT OK "ATX3D T" ATS0=8 TIMEOUT 120 CONNECT C
interface Async0/2/0 description out of band for network no ip address encapsulation slip async mode interactive
line 0/2/0 session-timeout 5 absolute-timeout 10 script connection dial login local modem InOut transport input all escape-character BREAK autoselect ppp stopbits 1 speed 115200 flowcontrol hardware

[code]....

This config is working fine, when dialing in via a Windows Hyperterminal Dial connection. After a while of dialing I get the login prompt of the router. Now I want to have a router placing calls instead of a Windows Server. I can't figure out how to tell a router to place calls to a POTS phone number.

Receiving router: 2811, WIC-1AM-V2, IOS c2800nm-ipbasek9-mz.124-25a
Calling router: 1841, WIC-1AM-V2, IOS c1841-advsecurityk9-mz.124-25a

Router Drops And Remote Access Failures?

Sep 23, 2011

I made a custom-built V1 Windows Home Server that I really would like to be able to remote access. I have tried the Netgear 3700, but it did not allow remote access. A D-Link DIR-825 does, but it, and many D-Link products, have a persistent problem of requiring a reset due to dropped connections. I have had 2 of the DIR-825's drop connections. I have been told that their QoS components cannot handle the load on them and fail, causing the drops, but I cannot corroborate that.Perhaps what I need is a router that allows "NAT loopback"? This way I can see the WHS Console verify that I can access the server from outside my network. I have tried to do so with the above routers via a 3G connection on my iPhone 4 and all except the D-Link failed to allow access to my WHS.

I should add that I am using a D-Link DSL-520B modem on ATT DSL. It is a 6MB connection from the ISP. Previously the modem was in "bridge mode" on the D-Link router. Also, contacting ATT I was told they do not block any ports. I have tried forwarding the proper ports (80, 443, 4125) for the WHS, but that has not given me remote access. I did get them by enabling UPnP on the D-Link. Is all this an issue of needing the modem on "bridge mode" in order to work properly? Any router for my needs that allows remote access (NAT loopback needed?) and also has a solid connection? Gigabit ethernet is a must have too. Otherwise I am open to options. I would like a combined router/modem unit to make things a little easier.

Internet(VPN)  --->  Router1 (FE 0/1)  --->  Router1 (FE 0/0)  -->  Router2 (FE 0/0)  -->  Router2 (FE 0/1)  -->  LAN

I tried configuring on Router1 (FE 0/0) interface and also on Router2 (FE 0/0) interface with same behaviour.  Router2 is used for internal NAT.

bridge 1 protocol ieee
bridge 1 route ip
