Cisco WAN :: 1250 - Stopped IOS Upgrade After 900+ Minutes
Aug 22, 2012
I don't really know what I am doing and have had no Cisco training I have an Aironet 1250 Access Point. I was asked to upgrade the software on the access point so I downloaded c1250-k9w8-tar.124-23c.JA5.tar and tried to upgrade it from IE9 browser window. I allowed the upgrade to run overnight. It ran for 900+ minutes before I unplugged the router. I know it said not to interrupt the upgrade, but it seemed like something was wrong.
So, I have the access point conntected to my computer with a blue cable and it is also connected to the network. I tried running Hyperterminal hoping that I could set the ip address or otherwise connect to it.

Is it possible to get this access point working again? How would I get it working again?
My computer connects to an unscured wifi near my home and i have internet acces for a few minuets, then it just stoppes. Sometimes if i reconnect it will run for a few more minuets 5-10. I have tried two different computers with same results. about a month ago the connection worked fine. This just started recently.I can connent and access internet at other public places with no problem. It seems only this network i have trouble with, why?I am running XP on one, and Win 7 on other, same results.I have read alot of things and tried them all,
-resetting internet options - changing tcp/ip - system restore with no results.
I upgraded my 6509-Es (sup720s) to 122-33.SXJ3 and now the banner command can not end when I include the ^ at the end. It seems to be stuck in text edit mode IE and usually hitting enter following that brings me back to command but it doesn't do anything but bring me to the next line.
After I have upgraded our ASA 5510 to 8.4.2 I have problem with the management interface. Our former firmware 8.2.3 had no problem using the management interface as a DMZ zone, but after we upgraded to 8.4.2 we can't make it work. The interface and the protocol is up, when I type: show interface. But when I ping the interface from a computer connectet to the interface, nothing happens. Even the logging shows nothing.

I've been using the W8968 for a while now with the default firmware out of the box. Everything was working fine, except that during a hard reset (power off-an-on) all my port forwarding settings were gone. This was so annoying that I decided to upgrade the firmware to 120926. Now the settings don't disappear, but the port forwarding stopped working. I've tried to connect from the outside to all of the ports that I opened on the router, but it kept on saying the port is closed (even though it appears on the port forwarding list and the status is "Enabled"). The router firewall is also disabled.
I was upgrading the firmware of the WRT54G router when the notebook´ screen closed and it went to standby mode. It was stoped the upgrade process. Now only the ports and Internet LEDs light up, but the power LED is off.I also cannot connect to thenavigator for show the administrator´s window. Any procedure to recover the operation of the router in a situation like this?
a few day l have 3 AP Ligthweight 1250, today l was checking my infrastructure and l saw that these 3 AP can´t join to the controller, l reset the AP to the, and its can not join, l checked physicly the AP, and the Ethernet Led is in Amber permanent and the Radio Led is in Green permanet , i am searching the status led to find the fix but l have not found these convination led. and l can not access to the consolo port.
I am new to the NCS implementations and configurations. I have one very specific case with Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.2 and autonomous APs and several issues with Cisco VSS on 6500 switches. So here is the version from Prime:
NCS/admin# show version Cisco Application Deployment Engine OS Release: 2.0 ADE-OS Build Version: 2.0.1.038 [code]......
Well the issue what we have now is that access point has been added but its not recognized by the NCS prime. I have tried all three versions of SNMP but I get the same result. The SNMP configuration is valid since I use the same for my switching infrastructure. When I enter "debug snmp packets" and "terminal monitor" I can see the SNMP communication between Prime and Aironet 1250 which is standalone.
When I switch to Life cycle theme and go to Operate > Device Monitor Center I see all devices I have added. The Aironet 1250 is reachable but under collection status I get Managed with Warnings. When I hover over with my mouse I get "None available".
I have successfully added my switching infrastructure in total, which is operating perfectly for Catalyst 2960/3650/3750/4500 series but for 6500 under VSS I have some warnings. The device is recognized by the system which is excellent and all is operational. I get the following errors under Collection Status:
feature_sensorSNMP request timed outfeature_powerSupplyFanStatus-6kSNMP request timed outIdentityCapabilityThe device is unreachable.feature_flashdeviceSNMP request timed outsam_ipsla_featureThe device is unreachable.
What can be done to resolve these issues ? I have attached a screenshot of this particular issue. The affected access point is 172.16.165.241.
I have installed 4 unit Cisco Aironet 1250 acting as Autonomous AP each. I want to integrate these AP to Windows Active Directory for authentication level.
When I read configuration guide on Cisco Aironet, they must be authenticated via RADIUS server.
Is it possible that these AP directly authenticated to Active Directory via LDAP protocol?
I have a aeronet 1250 access point and i have a windows 2003 radius server configured to authenticate users. I need to configure the access point for radius authentication .
When using dipole antennas such as AIR-ANT 4941 with the 2.4 Ghz 1250 AP, must the antennas be spaced EXACTLY as far apart as the antenna connectors on the AP, or can the dipoles be spread further out, say to 4" spacing.
I've just got a new AP 1250 series, and I was trying to configure the Radio for the 2.4Ghz spectrum using the interface dot11radio 0 and I've just noticed that this controller is not present so I cannot configure it so I wonder is it could be a HW problems as it looks to me or there is another way to enable this.
I never have an issue like this before so I want to first check with you before going back to our vendor.
Here is some of the details I get from the AP itself:
System image file is "flash:/c1250-k9w7-mx.124-10b.JDA3/c1250-k9w7-mx.124-10b.JDA3" ap02#sh controllers dot11Radio 0 ^% Invalid input detected at '^'
I have a customer using 1250 AP with monopole antenna, he face frequent disconnection for voice clients during roaming. Phone is forced for reregistration to call manager during the hand off. Same customer has dipole antenna in a different floor with 1250 AP and there is no issue observed for voice clients.
Is this an issue with monopole antenna ? Which is the best antenna to recommend for Cisco APs or wht is the occasion I need to use a dipole or monopole antenna ? How to understand the difference between them.
I can no longer open a http or https connection to the AP. I do have ssh access and I can log in with full privileges.
I was using the Web interface a few days ago and it did something strange during an update. The display of the web page became corrupted and no longer responded to my input.
I restarted it from an ssh session and I have also power cycled it via the power injector. Neither method has worked.
What should I do next or what additional info can I provide from an ssh shell?
Physical access is very difficult. It requires a 30' ladder after 10 p.m. So, I would like to avoid that if possible.
In my LAN, I have always been used an Aironet 1250 for internal use and always work fine. Now, I added a 3com AP but both AP are not correct. When I turned off the AIRONET 1250, the 3COM AP settings works fine. When both are turn on, the 3COM AP loses connectivity all the time.I have heard about the overlapping channels in 802.11b/g networks.
upgraded my home AP from Autonomous to Lwapp. I was an Idiot and thought i was getting an IOS upgrade. I need to revert it back to autonomous and a simple "mode" button reset doesnt work. I read that I need to Reload original IOS software, but It appears I cant get it without a support contract. I cant afford servicenet and need to obtain old ios to revert to factory default 12.4(10b)JA1. Do I need a contract to roll back? Is there an archive (backup image) of the old IOS that could be still stored on the device. I didnt back it up and need to obtain the image.
I have an Aironet 1250 AIR-LAP1252AG-A-K9 I am having issues with, and I am hoping for some direction on how to resolve them. I understand this question has been posted many times many different ways, but i have no luck unfortunately. Here is where I am: I can terminal into the AP, which has been set to factory default, with the username and password and enable password of Cisco. Once I am in the enable mode, I get lost.
Usually there would be an option to go to config. t, and work from there, but this AP does not have that option, Actually if I do a ? at the enable prompt, the commands list only starts with the letter C; but none are config.
I also cannot get into the web interface of the AP. The AP gets a DHCP IP from my DHCP server, (192.1681.128/24) but I cannot get into the web interface using the IP it gets from DHCP. The page never comes up. To add to the confusion, I cannot turn off the CLI event logging, although I enter the command "no debug all". Maybe I am off on what to put in. Nonetheless, it drives me crazy with messages every two seconds as I am trying to type while attempting to figure things out.
Overall, from reading the forums and doing Google searches, I am going on the assumption that the AP is now in lightweight mode, as opposed to autonomous mode, which is where I want it to be. I have tried the method of updating the firmware to the autonomous firmware from Jan 2013 for the AP. I use the TFTP method as I have found here on the forums a few times; I hold the mode button down while applying power to the AP, let the system LED turn red and release the button so the TFTP process can go through, but nothing changes.
I have the AP powered from a gigabit POE switch. The computer I am using for the TFTP is on the same sub net as the AP. I have tried using 10.0.0.6/24 for the computer with the TFTP on it, made sure the view all file extensions option was checked, and renamed the firmware to the .default extension-still nothing updates.
I also noticed that once I hold the mode button down for 20-30 seconds then let it go, the CLI output says the AP it is on the 10.0.0.x sub net, but I cannot ping the computer with the TFTP program on it. If i try to, it get a "Command not supported" message. So I will go on the idea that this is most likely why I cannot do a TFTP update.
About 30 seconds after I release the mode button and the AP boots, it will say it has a 10.0.0.x IP address, then it starts going crazy with messages that it cannot find a DHCP server.
We are facing an issue with a customer where a Cisco 4400 Series controller is blocking the 802.11a/n Radio Interface of a 1250 AP. The radio shows as down on the controller GUI. The error message on the GUI is that the 'Regulatory Domain' is not supported. This can be seen from the attached screenshot. Also relevant parts of the WLC configs are attached. WLC: Cisco 4402 WirelessWLC Country: SADevice: Cisco Lightweight Access Point 1250 (LAP) is controlled through the 4402 Cisco Wireless LAN Controller (WLC)The operating system version of the LAP: c1250-k9w8-mx.124-18a.JA version of the WLC: Software Version 5.2.178.0 The problem is that the controller shows that the 802.11a/n Radio Interface in Radio Slot # 1 is always down , the customer tried to manually 'no shut' the AP interface from the console and it worked , but obviously this solution would not work as the configuration cannot be saved (LW AP).
I just started a project to make a guest wireless network available at every site in my enterprise. Guest wireless networks are currently available at some sites. Two key goals of this project is to enable WPA/WPA2 encryption and to develop a web based registration/autentication solution. All of the sites have a mixture of 1230, 1240, and 1250 autonomous access points. What do I need to do/get in order to make this happen?
I have two Windows 7 computers and neither one will successfully upgrade a 1242 AP to LWAP. However, I go to a coworker's XP machine and run the tool without issues. On Windows 7 I keep receiving the error message of ACL or Firewall is blocking. I have added rules and then even tried disabling the firewalls completely on both computers and still no success.
Is it possible to upgrade the CSACS-1121-UP-K9 to be a non upgrade part? We were going to upgrade from a Windows 4.x to the above Appliance (version 5.x) but there is now a reason to keep the old Windows version running therefore we cannot give the new Appliance the old ACS's licenses?!So we should have (with hindsight) bought a fresh version of the ACS 5.x rather than an upgrade.
My connection is up for a minute and then goes off for a minute. I don't think it has anything to do with the router itself as my room mates' laptop works just fine.
I am using Cisco ACS 5.1. I would like to authenticate my ip phones with mab (Avaya phones) and the commputers with dot1x.Everything works fine except that the phones which are successfully authenticated with mab tries to authenticate again and again and again ... and this fills up the ACS logs. Every authentication is successfull and the phone does not hang up. But this fills up my logs and makes them unusefull.
What could b the issue with my internet connection i keep losing the connection every few minutes if im idol on sites not games related i stay connected when i go onto games i start losing the connection. [code]
I have had this problem for a week now. We have a desktop, PS3, and 3 laptops connected all at the same time. No problems with the desktop, PS3 and one of the laptops so far, but my Asus A53E and the HP Pavilion keep getting disconnected every few minutes! I recently installed a Linksys router (just to try it out) and it didn't really do well so I returned it and switched back to our old router which is the DLink DIR-625 router. It was doing okay for a few days and then suddenly it just started going crazy. Both the desktop and the PS3 are connected to the router through cable, but the other laptop (Dell) is not. I don't understand why it's just the Asus and the HP that get disconnected a lot. I already tried updating my drivers and reformatting my laptop, but still nothing. I don't want to call our ISP (Shaw) and D-Link because the internet works fine on the other 3.Additional Information:
-Modem -Microsoft Security Essentials (on the Asus) -avast! (on the HP)
