View 9 RepliesI have installed an Aironet 1130AG and utilized a power injector for the power source. I have the settings configured correctly in IOS, but the AP takes about 7 minutes to come on (illuminate LED status lights) once the Ethernet cable is connected. Is this 7 minute power-on delay normal when using POE? I am used to the instanteous "on" that usually comes with Cisco products being connected directly to the AC adapter.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI keep getting alerts from our WCS stating that our 1252s are drawing low power. Now I am aware that they require enhanced PoE (up to 20W) but as we only have standard PoE in that building we purchased the 1252 series power injectors to go with them.
However, even with the correct power injectors the WCS still reports the draws low power error.
Is this a bug? Running WCS 7.0.172 at the moment.
Forgot to say we are using the PWR-INJ4 and the injector status is enabled and you see the injector MAC address when you drill in to the AP status.
I need to upgrade a 1230 to the new Aironet 1250 at a location. I have only 2 external antennas at that location.
I understand that you still can run 802.11n with 2 antennas. But I can not find anywhere in WLC 5508 v7.2 that I can disable the middle nut (C)
I can no longer open a http or https connection to the AP. I do have ssh access and I can log in with full privileges.
I was using the Web interface a few days ago and it did something strange during an update. The display of the web page became corrupted and no longer responded to my input.
I restarted it from an ssh session and I have also power cycled it via the power injector. Neither method has worked.
What should I do next or what additional info can I provide from an ssh shell?
Physical access is very difficult. It requires a 30' ladder after 10 p.m. So, I would like to avoid that if possible.
I need a power Injector compatible for WAP 4410N.
View 3 Replies View Relatedupgraded my home AP from Autonomous to Lwapp. I was an Idiot and thought i was getting an IOS upgrade. I need to revert it back to autonomous and a simple "mode" button reset doesnt work. I read that I need to Reload original IOS software, but It appears I cant get it without a support contract. I cant afford servicenet and need to obtain old ios to revert to factory default 12.4(10b)JA1. Do I need a contract to roll back? Is there an archive (backup image) of the old IOS that could be still stored on the device. I didnt back it up and need to obtain the image.

View 7 Replies View RelatedWe are planning a wireless network using the 1602i APs. Some of our APs might or might not be within the 100m limit from the switches, so we'll be running them as repeaters instead. Right now, we are planning on buying power injectors for everything, but I can't seem to find an answer to this question:
If I'm running an AP as a repeater (no ethernet running back to a switch), can it still receive power from a power injector and a short ethernet run between the injector and the AP? Or will I need to use a power adapter?
Can I power the 1552e with the proper poe injector if I am not using the ethernet port for backhaul? I want to get power thru poe but use a fiber for backhaul.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an Aironet 1250 AIR-LAP1252AG-A-K9 I am having issues with, and I am hoping for some direction on how to resolve them. I understand this question has been posted many times many different ways, but i have no luck unfortunately. Here is where I am: I can terminal into the AP, which has been set to factory default, with the username and password and enable password of Cisco. Once I am in the enable mode, I get lost.
Usually there would be an option to go to config. t, and work from there, but this AP does not have that option, Actually if I do a ? at the enable prompt, the commands list only starts with the letter C; but none are config.
I also cannot get into the web interface of the AP. The AP gets a DHCP IP from my DHCP server, (192.1681.128/24) but I cannot get into the web interface using the IP it gets from DHCP. The page never comes up. To add to the confusion, I cannot turn off the CLI event logging, although I enter the command "no debug all". Maybe I am off on what to put in. Nonetheless, it drives me crazy with messages every two seconds as I am trying to type while attempting to figure things out.
Overall, from reading the forums and doing Google searches, I am going on the assumption that the AP is now in lightweight mode, as opposed to autonomous mode, which is where I want it to be. I have tried the method of updating the firmware to the autonomous firmware from Jan 2013 for the AP. I use the TFTP method as I have found here on the forums a few times; I hold the mode button down while applying power to the AP, let the system LED turn red and release the button so the TFTP process can go through, but nothing changes.
I have the AP powered from a gigabit POE switch. The computer I am using for the TFTP is on the same sub net as the AP. I have tried using 10.0.0.6/24 for the computer with the TFTP on it, made sure the view all file extensions option was checked, and renamed the firmware to the .default extension-still nothing updates.
I also noticed that once I hold the mode button down for 20-30 seconds then let it go, the CLI output says the AP it is on the 10.0.0.x sub net, but I cannot ping the computer with the TFTP program on it. If i try to, it get a "Command not supported" message. So I will go on the idea that this is most likely why I cannot do a TFTP update.
About 30 seconds after I release the mode button and the AP boots, it will say it has a 10.0.0.x IP address, then it starts going crazy with messages that it cannot find a DHCP server.
Contrary to the information contained in the link above, these two parts do not play well together. I purchased both and plugged them in and no go. It doesn't even light anything on the WAP. It worked fine when it was on its own 12V DC adapter but not plugged into this injector. What I don't understand is why Cisco doesn't just make a Universal power injector that is essentially a 1 port switch and is 802.3af or 802.3at compatible. Its maddening. It looks like I'm going to have to get an SD208P and waste 6 ports just to get one with the correct POE for the WAP4410.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm having a little issue with some Cisco Aironet1242ag WAP's. I receive a call at least twice a month stating that some of the WAP's are not giving out internet connection. What I always do is go to my patch panel and disconnect those WAP's not working and connect them back again so they can power cycle. These WAP's are connected to a Cisco3750g. Once the WAP's boot up, the users can connect to the WAP and connect to the internet.
I don't know if these WAP's are filling up with some information that causes the access points to not connect to the WAN.
Is it possible to lower the power draw on the Aironet 1552e AP (AIR-CAP1552E-N-K9) so it will run on a standard PoE device (IEEE 802.3af). The spec sheet for the AP says you need to either use the Cisco PoE injector (AIR-PWRINJ1500-2=).Is there possibly a firmware upgrade/downgrade or some sort of command I can use?The APs being used are running LWAPP and require a controller.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe are looking at purchasing two of the WAP4410n Access Points to add wireless in one building, and possibly replace Wireless G in another. In our building already configured, we have POEs set up and this has worked to centralize everything that has to be monitored. We would like to do the something with the WAP4410n. With the access points we already have, they are Pre POE so there was only one device that would work. With These they are standard POE, Does that mean I can use any POE Injector that is using this standard?
Also, are problems that first existed these access points being worked out or been fixed? I want these to be minimal attention required since I am the IT person here and I don't work in this building, I work in the other building which is walking distance but I do want to avoid problems if possible.
Can the WAP4410N accept a 48 VDC input from an IEEE 802.3af POE injector or is a splitter required on the AP end to drop the 48 VDC to 12 VDC and utilize the DC input connector on the back of the AP? I would prefer to use only the injector at the switch if the AP can accept the 48 VDC at the ethernet port.

%CDP_PD-2-POWER_LOW: All radios disabled - NEGOTIATED WS-C6509 <Switchport MAC Add>
The Module in the 6500 is a WS-X6348-RJ-45 The Option "Power Injector installed" on the WLC is also enabled, with the MAC Address from the Switchport, but no change. When i disable CDP on the mentioned Switch Port and reload the AP, it comes up and runs fine.
When using dipole antennas such as AIR-ANT 4941 with the 2.4 Ghz 1250 AP, must the antennas be spaced EXACTLY as far apart as the antenna connectors on the AP, or can the dipoles be spread further out, say to 4" spacing.

I have a customer using 1250 AP with monopole antenna, he face frequent disconnection for voice clients during roaming. Phone is forced for reregistration to call manager during the hand off. Same customer has dipole antenna in a different floor with 1250 AP and there is no issue observed for voice clients.
Is this an issue with monopole antenna ? Which is the best antenna to recommend for Cisco APs or wht is the occasion I need to use a dipole or monopole antenna ? How to understand the difference between them.
How many SSID can be create in a 4404 controller and also in standalone 1250 AP? How many VLANs can be created in eac one?
