Cisco Wireless :: Power Injector For WAP 4410N
Jun 28, 2011I need a power Injector compatible for WAP 4410N.

View 3 RepliesI keep getting alerts from our WCS stating that our 1252s are drawing low power. Now I am aware that they require enhanced PoE (up to 20W) but as we only have standard PoE in that building we purchased the 1252 series power injectors to go with them.
However, even with the correct power injectors the WCS still reports the draws low power error.
Is this a bug? Running WCS 7.0.172 at the moment.
Forgot to say we are using the PWR-INJ4 and the injector status is enabled and you see the injector MAC address when you drill in to the AP status.
if the Cisco Power Injector (AIR-PWRINJ3=) is compatible with the 541n AP ? I find info about compatility with other AP models but didn't find any related with this SMB model.

View 7 Replies View RelatedWe are planning a wireless network using the 1602i APs. Some of our APs might or might not be within the 100m limit from the switches, so we'll be running them as repeaters instead. Right now, we are planning on buying power injectors for everything, but I can't seem to find an answer to this question:
If I'm running an AP as a repeater (no ethernet running back to a switch), can it still receive power from a power injector and a short ethernet run between the injector and the AP? Or will I need to use a power adapter?
Can I power the 1552e with the proper poe injector if I am not using the ethernet port for backhaul? I want to get power thru poe but use a fiber for backhaul.
View 4 Replies View RelatedContrary to the information contained in the link above, these two parts do not play well together. I purchased both and plugged them in and no go. It doesn't even light anything on the WAP. It worked fine when it was on its own 12V DC adapter but not plugged into this injector. What I don't understand is why Cisco doesn't just make a Universal power injector that is essentially a 1 port switch and is 802.3af or 802.3at compatible. Its maddening. It looks like I'm going to have to get an SD208P and waste 6 ports just to get one with the correct POE for the WAP4410.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have installed an Aironet 1130AG and utilized a power injector for the power source. I have the settings configured correctly in IOS, but the AP takes about 7 minutes to come on (illuminate LED status lights) once the Ethernet cable is connected. Is this 7 minute power-on delay normal when using POE? I am used to the instanteous "on" that usually comes with Cisco products being connected directly to the AC adapter.
View 5 Replies View Relatedhow far apart an Aironet 1410 Bridge can be from the Power Injector (Dual Coax feeds). I just can't find the specification details. The device comes with a 20' and 50' F-type and I'm looking at 150' runs for both ends of the bridge pair.

Does the 4410N support 802.1x using EAP? If so how is it configured?
We are looking at purchasing two of the WAP4410n Access Points to add wireless in one building, and possibly replace Wireless G in another. In our building already configured, we have POEs set up and this has worked to centralize everything that has to be monitored. We would like to do the something with the WAP4410n. With the access points we already have, they are Pre POE so there was only one device that would work. With These they are standard POE, Does that mean I can use any POE Injector that is using this standard?
Also, are problems that first existed these access points being worked out or been fixed? I want these to be minimal attention required since I am the IT person here and I don't work in this building, I work in the other building which is walking distance but I do want to avoid problems if possible.
I would like to configure 3 Access Point (WAP4410N) to extend the wifi in my house. I try it to do several configuration but it doesn't work.
In this configuration, the wifi devices disappears and re-appears constantly. I lose the IP addresses and they all come down only every 5 seconds. I made screen shots of the 3 terminals in the word document attached below

View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed one of these on a small network. It's going through a mini-switch 5 port netgear to a larger 16 port netgear. Users are only able to get (4Mbps, 5Mbps) down on a file transfer. Shouldn't I be able to get closer to 80 Mbps on a 100Mbps network when connected on 802.11N?
View 10 Replies View RelatedCan the WAP4410N accept a 48 VDC input from an IEEE 802.3af POE injector or is a splitter required on the AP end to drop the 48 VDC to 12 VDC and utilize the DC input connector on the back of the AP? We are on our 2nd 4410N. we monitor the AP with software that graphs the signal strength. the first 4410N would completely dissappear for about 3 to 5 seconds every few hours, that would disconnect users and annoy them greatly. a few weeks after we bought it, we sent it back to Cisco who sent us a new replacement. we have been monitoring the new one and several times an hour strength strength drops about 50DB for about a minute. monitoring is done from about 15 feet away from the AP.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWe installed a new WAP 4401n to extend a network and plugged it into a D-Link mini swtich (5 ports). In about 2 minutes we got no activity on the switch. We pulled power on the mini-switch, waited a couple minutes and re-powewred. No activity. Looks like we blew the switch. Put another mini-switch in and it did the same thing in about 4 minutes.
The WAP4401n is a PoE ready AP. We are checking right now on whether it's a cable wiring problem or an AP problem.I believe we are using the RJ-45 data cable that came with the AP.
I wonder if I can join via the WAP 4410n Bridge and also work as Access-point at a time. The idea is that you can connect to a router that provides Internet service that makes access-point bridge and connect to another WAP 4410n which would be another single access point for wireless bridge.
View 1 Replies View Relatedi noticed that the 1242AG does not bring up the Radios, when there is a Power Injector connected.I see in the Logs of the AP:
%CDP_PD-2-POWER_LOW: All radios disabled - NEGOTIATED WS-C6509 <Switchport MAC Add>
The Module in the 6500 is a WS-X6348-RJ-45 The Option "Power Injector installed" on the WLC is also enabled, with the MAC Address from the Switchport, but no change. When i disable CDP on the mentioned Switch Port and reload the AP, it comes up and runs fine.
I have 12 wap4410n to enable wireless connection to a school building with 3 floor. I planned to configure one as a Access point. My doubt is in which AP mode i have to configure the rest as WDS Bridge or WDS Repeater other mode. In each access point i have Ethernet connection to the switch.

I have 1 RV016, and I'm looking to deploy a RV082 and WAP4410N, with the 4410 being the only device on my network that would need PoE, I'd rather not have to buy a dedicated PoE Switch or Hub just for that one device.
