I got 1 public IP for router and 16 Public IP's for NAT from ISP. Both router IP in one range and the NAT IP's are in different range. I want to use 1 NAT public IP for one of my windows server.Am using cisco 1841 router, in which I ve configured the public IP provided by the ISP for router.

I'm really bad on networking so I have a question about NAT. I got two public IP addresses from my ISP: 92.x.x.252 - 92.x.x.254. 92.x.x.254 is configured as secondary on external interface and clients will use it two connect (vpn) it from outside through cisco 1841 to zywall p1 with wan ip address 92.x.x.253. Is this configuration (look at picture) allowed? How can I route traffic from 92.x.x.254 to zywall p1, if posible?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to figure out how this works. I have an ISP device that connects to my 1841. ISP and fa0/0 hold the /30 WAN addresses. Fa0/1 hold one of the public IPs, lets say 1.1.1.1/29. Then the outside interface of the ASA holds 1.1.1.2/29. Now I have two routes in the 1841, one for default route going back to the ISP device, and a route for the 1.1.1.0/29 network going to the ASA.Now I have 4 more publics I can use 1.1.1.3 - 6. I do not want to assign these IPs to the servers, but yet just NAT them. I know this is possible, but cant figureI took an internal host and did a one to one static NAT from private to public. Packet tracer says my NAT rules are ok. Allowed all IP traffic for testing and still can't ping the server.

With my current setup I've configured PAT for internet access for my users, and we also have some servers on site which are assigned public ip addresses, these can be accessed from the internet. Now we have procured a Cisco 1921 ISR to replace the old 1841, when I connect the 1921 with an identical configuration in place of the old router, 2 things happen.
1) The users accessing the net via the nat are able to work without any inconvenience (good)
2) My servers which have public IP addresses are unable to reach the internet and subsequently I am unable to reach them via the internet (very bad)
i am using a Cisco 1841 with subinterfaces instead (NAT on a stick).From the internet i can access services on public IP being hosted in LAN2. But when i try to access the same services on the same public IPs but sitting on LAN1, it does not work.

Could I get a validation that this config is correct in that it allows inbound access to the web server and that I should be able to ping it from my inside interface.
I tried to use the example code from Cisco DocID: 115904 for DMZ WebServer, but I found the object NAT parts did not work with my 8.6 IOS so I modified them as shown in my config.Example from 115904 doc.

With the below code I do not get a ping reply sourcing from a 10.1.0.X host to 192.168.1.80 web server.And I cannot browse in from the outside to it either.I do see the MAC for 192.168.1.80 in the ASA's arp cache for the dmz interface.The web server is on a VMware ESX environment and I'm not sure it is set up correctly.

we need to implement a scalable solution where we can provide for each customer it's own public IP so that they can access some content restricted by IP range.the solution consists of a proxy software that will "listen" to multiple IP's, then reroute the HTTP requests and rewrite the URL's to a different format.Anyways, we came to the conclusion that what we need is the following:
- broadband line with a pool of 8 IP's
- a router that can support multiple IP's
- a server
what kind of router or device is required for this kind of configuration. basically the network diagram will be like this:
Internet ----> broadband -------> cable modem ------ > multiple static IP router -------> server NIC
we should be able to add the same above combination once we run out of IP's, another broadband line, another device and server ...
I have a virtual FreeNAS server running from VMPlayer and I want to allow my friends to connect to my media server from their houses, but I don't want to buy a domain. Is there a way to port them to it when they connect to my Public IP? I am willing to use another program if necessary. I have looked at Filezilla, but have the same issue.

Here is the problem.When I'm in a server (for example 192.168.0.210) and try to access other servers by their public ip addresses (i..e. *.*.*.211) the connection fails. However, When i try to access the same server by it's private IP address (i.e. 192.168.0.211) it works!
My issue is i don't want to modify windows host file for a manual mapping (for example mail.mydomian.com goes to 192.168.0.211 rather than *.*.*.211) because we host many domains and just doesn't make sense to do it one by one.So we must be able to access our servers by their public IP addresses in order for us our applications works correctly.
I have a new (linksys/cisco) RV082 Router that I have just set up and everything is working except that I can't configure it to allow public access to our web server. I have tried configuring port forwarding under the Forwarding and UPnP menus and still no access from the outside. I have tried accessing it from the outside using both the URL and the IP address and still no access. I have checked with my ISP and no ports are being blocked from their end. I can ping my public static IP from the outside with no problem. The documentation that I've found for this router refers to a menu that is different from the menu of this router and refers to an Applications & Gaming menu which isn't there, but it seems like the port forwarding should handle this.
I have a static public IP, a static internal IP for the server. I have set the port forwarding and UpNP to point to the IP of the server using port 80 and a secondary forward to port 8080. There are no issues accessing the website from within the LAN.
i have a windows 2003 server using it as a proxy server with 2 nics. 192.xxx.xxx.xxx to the LAN and 172.xxx.xxx.xxx to the internet router. although I can browse on the LAN, i cannot ping any public ip. because of that i cannot use my outlook to get my mail.

From internet i can reach to web server with IP:1.1.1.1 and from INSIDE connect to web server with IP:10.0.0.1. I want to set it up so that X.146 is where all my outbound traffic appears to originate.I want tcp HTTPS and SMTP to be allowed from the WAN (via the X.147 IP) to a specific server (192.168.1.11) on the LAN.Also, HTTP traffic to X.148, X.149 and X.150 should go to DMZ and 192.168.2.8, 192.168.2.15 and 192.168.2.18 respectively, but I haven't added that to my config yet. I'm trying via the ASDM to port forward http connections to a DVR for the purpose of viewing IP cams.I've tried via ASDM to create a public server but I'm not allowed to use my public IP address for the public Interface.I have only one public IP address available.Is there any way round this ? I would also like to know how I can enable NAT with PAT.I've tried setting the outside Interface for use with PAT but It keeps reverting to the setting for a range of external addresses.I'm not really used to the ASA cli yet , I'm getting there.If there's a workaround via the CLI , I'll take that route.

I have a local web development server that I'd like to open up so my clients can see the sites I build for them. The server is just my old laptop that I now use only as a web server.
I'm having trouble figuring out the port forwarding for this. I have a Netgear WGR614v9. I've configured the server to have a static IP, and have port forwarding sending port 80 over to the server. I've made an exception in Windows Firewall for port 80.
So, from my understanding, I should be able to go to my http://[my public ip], and I should in the least see my servers default site.
I think my problem is that I don't have just one website hosted by Apache. But instead am using Virtual Hosts to have a handful of sites hosted. So what I don't know is how to configure the server to know what site to serve.
I know I'm missing a step with having DNS setup. I haven't gone through that step yet because I thought it wasn't immediately necessary to configure the port forwarding.
I have configured Cisco 1841 router. My problem is what if every first time a user opens the browser will display a web page server. My web server ip address is 10.10.1.5. [code]

At this point although I have ACL's configured I have NOT implemented them as yet for the following reason. I am unable to recieve inbound SMTP traffic - now know my MX records are correct as this all owrks happily on our basic DSL router. I can send external emails no problem and all internal email works fine. View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a 1841 deployed as my NAT device towards internet. NAT is setup so that internal addresses can access WWW. I also have some NAT translations opening speciic ports from outside to inside in the form: ip nat inside source static tcp A.B.C.D 443 A.B.C.D 443 extendable.
Now have an outside address/port setup with a public DNS reference and using NAT from outside to get access to the corresponding inside address. It works when being outside the LAN.
Now to the problem: From the LAN side of the router - i cannot access the public name. I can ping it - but my browser dont find the webserver behind the name. Someone told me it should be setup as "local firewall domain" - and i should set this up as "source NAT".
Our company has a Cisco 1841 router which provides our connection to the outside world. We also have a windows server which provides our DHCP and DNS services. Our workstations which also get their lease from the server (using DHCP) do have a connection to the outside world.
when we connect a new computer or other device to the network we can only ping as far as the inside interface of the router. But when we assign the ip settings staticly we do get a connection, even if we configure it with the exact same ip as a lease it got a few seconds ago.

We have 2mbps leased line and have Cisco 1841 which is managed by our ISP. I have hooked up another 1841 (please find basic config below, it will get more complex lateron) Now when I connect my laptop I am able to browse Internet. But when I conect VOIP phone, it is not able to contact it's Hosted Server on Internet.
VOIP phone is Polycom SoundPoint 550 and I get URL call disabed message. If I try netgear Firewall everything seems to work.that the voip provider needs following ports UDP Range 16384 - 32766, TCP 5060 & UDP 5060. But in my config all outbound traffic is allowed. [code]
I am using Solawinds syslog and trying to get our Cisco routers send syslogs to our syslog server. I followed the procedure on Configuring Cisco Devices to Use a Syslog Server from [URL] Our Cisco swtches are all sending syslog messages but not the routers. I compared the config with our access switches but can't seem to find the problem:

is there a command that prevents the router from sending the syslog to the server?
One of our vendors requires using a public ip address to setup a site-to-site IPSEC vpn. We only have one public ip address and that will be used for the vpn endpoint and for internet access for the local network. I've setup policy NAT from our local network to the outside interface. I'm also using the outside ip address for the crypto map. The tunnel setups successfully and the Tx count increases anytime I try to ping the remote network, but the ping fails and the Rx count does not increase. According to our vendor, we should be able to ping the remote network and connect using port 443. When trying to connect using port 443, I see a SYN timeout in the logs. I'm not sure if the problem is on their end and they're rejecting our traffic, or if something is misconfigured on our end. I'd like to make sure that I have everything configured correctly before I go and point fingers at them.

I'm trying to setup my DMZ so all my servers will have public IPs assigned to them. I'm currently trying to use two interfaces on each server, one with a private IP and then one with a public IP. All my internal traffic will go over the private interfaces...this is working. However, I'm having a problem trying to get it so the public interfaces work. Ultimately, these will be VM Hosts and have VM guests on them, each guest will have it's own public IP.

Unfortunately the port 443 of the OUTSIDE interface of ASA is already in use by Microsoft Outlook Web Access and I cannot change the configuration of Outlook. This configuration already in place prevents me to use the public IP of the ASA as Cisco VPN ip address for the webpage. I don't either want to use a different port so to keep life easy for the users.I have some public IPs available that I can use so I wanted to use one of them instead of the ASA's OUTSIDE interface.
