Cisco WAN :: HWIC-1CE1T1-PRI For ISDN30 - 8 Channels Data Backup Usage?
Oct 18, 2011
The customer has an existing ISDN30 - 8 channels backup circuit what was originally terminated to a C2611XM Now they required to replace this old router with a new one.The old router build:
I tried to configure a 2920 with a WIC=HWIC-1CE1T1-PRI. In the serial 0/0/0:23 I set the isdn switch type to primary-ni2c. When I then exit configure mode and show interface se0/0/0:23 the switch type has been changed to primary-ni. Is this normal?
I'm trying to backup my primary WAN with secondary backup connection - 3G WAN through Cellular 0/0/0.Point is that I need to track some external IP address on my primary interface, for examle 8.8.8.8. If it is not reacheable, then router brings up backup connection - 3G. This can be done by using dialer-watcher.Simple.But unfortunately my primary WAN interface is an FastEthernet, which is the coonected to a switch, switch to WAN . There is no dialer-watch commands on it. Thats sad .
One more time :
WAN -> SWITCH -> ROUTER(WITH 3G HWIC and Fa 0/0 connected to switch).
I have many HWIC-3G-HSPA cards as backup connections and I need to keep them up for monitoring purposes. Being a backup connection they get little interesting traffic for them to spring into life but they are the source interface for a tunnel interface (we use DMVPN). The interface still insists on going down. I have even added static routes to the DMVPN hubs over the cellular interface and they still go down. What command do I enter to always keep them up? I had originally used 'dialer idle-timeout 0' and then removed it altogether which the same results. Below is what I have now.
interface Cellular0/1/0 ip address negotiated ip nat outside ip virtual-reassembly in encapsulation ppp dialer in-band dialer string gsmscript dialer-group 1 async mode interactive ppp chap hostname //username// ppp chap password //password// ppp ipcp dns request
access-list 1 permit anydialer-list 1 protocol ip list 1
line 0/1/0 exec-timeout 0 0 script dialer gsmscript modem InOut no exec transport input all transport output all rxspeed 7200000 txspeed 5760000
My requirment is to drop the Internet traffic once the Cisco HWIC 3G backup link will become active(attached) .Because I should allow only Business Critical Data allow through that and others should drop. Here are the config I used. In here I used a standard access list to generate intersting traffic which allow all the traffic traverse through the backup link. Can I drop the packets to the proxy (192.168.1.100) using this access list and allow other traffic.access-list 1 deny 192.168.1.100access-list 1 permit anydialer-list 1 protocol ip list 1.Is this the proper way I should follow ? Is there any other good method to achieve my requirement ? [code]
Have a problem coming my way with regards monitoring 3g data usage on an 887 router. The router will carry two links - x1 primary over the serial port and x1 secondary failover link utilizing 3g.
The 3g sim has an allowance of 1Gb per month (traffic has been baselined and this seems sufficient - not by me though).I have a requirement to monitor the 3g link and trigger an alert at say the 60% mark (600Mb). Whatever mechanism is used to count the data also has to reset to 0 at the beginning of every month as data stats will be included in monthly reports.
Second conundrum, I also have to somehow split out the data usage stats to show my customers usage as well as my own. My own being management traffic (mainly snmp and icmp) and present this in the monthly report.
#1 - Does the 887 have some form of 3g accounting capability either via gui or cli that can fulfil my requirements above?
#2 - With splitting the data usage stats, could this be achieved using netflow and if it was possible, could i only have my flows sent down the Primary link (obviously only when it is active) and if the box fails to 3g have netflow just count the data until the Primary kicks in again. If no built in features can give me what i want i my go down the eem scripting route burt this is a last resort.
Not sure if I should be here or software but I'll start here. My question is I want to split my data plan with users on one pc, eg 3 users on windows 7 giving them 60gb each then shuts off when it is reached? I have tried looking online but seem to only find stuff about timelimits.
I recently switched over to a new cable modem/wireless router, which is the Zoom DOCSIS 3.0 (Model: 5350-00-03). Me and my brothers have set up a second router, a Netgear N300 (Model: WNR2000v2), on the other side of the house. After the switch, our data usage has been increasing. I just want to know if having two routers affect more data usage.
Is there any way to monitor and plot graphs against the data usage for each local pool configured on Cisco 7609. I have a CISCO 7609 that is acting as RAS for PPPoE Customers and have mulitple local pools (/24) configured on it. What is requried is a graph that shows data usage of each pool separately ( I can plot usage against each IP but that is not requried here, I need data usage (MRTG) for each complete local pool).
I own a wireless router (ZTE W300) and due to the large number of devices in my house, and limited broadband usage, can I limit downloads/uploads (in other words, limit data usage) to a particular device over the network?I think the stock firmware on my router doesnt allow that (and its pretty base level too). If so, do you recommend any other firmware that can do the task, and is compatible with my router?
I bought a new Toshiba Satellite C660 laptop with Windows 7 on Sept 1st, and had no problems at first with the mobile broadband. However, on Monday 13th I noticed massive spikes in the data usage. After browsing the internet for around an hour I decided to check my usage randomly, and it was at 350mb!Since then, there's times when I don't even have my browser open and in the space of 5 minutes it will reach 150mb of usage. There's also times when it works absolutely perfectly for hours on end (including today, where it was working fine up until around an hour ago!) I phoned the mobile broadband company twice last week, the first time the person told me that it was a computer issue and to go to an IT repair place.
So after sending him screencaps of Windows task manager processes/applications/network he can't see anything that could be doing it. He advised me to do a full antivirus scan, and full malwarebytes and ad aware scans and they've all come up clean. The second time I phoned the broadband company, they told me that there were some wrong settings, and that they've been changed now but if I have any more problems to ring customer care again. So after seeing an offer with a different mobile broadband provider, I decided to buy a new broadband stick and change networks in hoping that would solve the problem.... it didn't.
So there's definitely something about the new laptop that's causing the data usage to spike I don't use any torrent programs, and haven't been watching youtube videos constantly or trying to stream online, like I said there's been times where I don't even have Google Chrome open and it's using up all my data! I don't use Skype or anything like that either (to be honest I have barely any programs on this new laptop)I've turned off all the automatic updates for as many programs as I think can have them. Ii's definitely improved a bit though, but there are still times (like around an hour ago) that the data usage starts spiking randomly.
I have got a 1TB external HDD...I want to use this to backup my data (dokuments , pics , video) that are on 2 desktops and one laptop---
AS I understand the terminology a I won't have enough room to do image backups (these back up all info incl OS ??) as on pc is usingb 677 gb and the other 400 gb ---- and anyway I can re-install windows if anything goes wrong...
SO---am I able to do this-
1. connect the ext- HDD to PC running win 7 64 bit....create a folder called "win 7 64 bit" and then drag and drop filesand folders into that folder(or use windows backup..which i am unfamilar with)
2. then connect to PC running Vista 64 bit ..create a flder called "Vista 64 bit" and do as above....
3. Do the same for the laptop running win 7 32 bit
Am I right in assumming that because it's just data I can put info from different OS on to it without and conflicts when connecting it to different Pc's?
Region : UnitedKingdom Model : TD-W8951ND Hardware Version : V5 Firmware Version : 22.05.2012 ISP :
I have a TD-W8951ND v5 on the latest firmware.
I recently broke my broadband data cap which surprised me as I had not been using the internet much.
I only have tablet which I switched off having first checked the router to make sure there were no other wireless connections and adding MAC address filtering to be sure no one else was stealing my bandwidth. With just my router connected to the ISP, my ISP has recorded 170MB of downloaded data in 3.5 hours. Switching off the router stops the traffic being recorded (as you would expect), but when switched back on the large data transfers start up again.
I have plugged in an older router (not wireless) and no traffic is generated, so it seems to be the TP-Link router rather than my ISP or ADSL circuit that is at fault.
I'm about to install a new E1 onto my 3845 as backup line for my data network. We usually use VWIC2 cards since our infrastructure covers EU and US sites. But this time, I ran out of stock and so did my supplier. I have a VWIC-1MFT-G703 card here but not sure if it would work. What is the difference compared to the regular VWIC-1MFT-E1 ?
We have backup data center where I am now planning to provide backup internet service ( in the case where there is internet down or power outage at main server room) . I have a pair of Cisco ASA's 5540, one of which I need to move to backup data center ( BDC), Presently I have ADSL router at disaster serve room with static public IP from ISP.
Currently, I am publishing all my internal resources through ASA. Now my questions, if I move Standby ASA to Disaster Server Room. How I can publish the same internal resources through standby ASA and make it standby as active during the down time of main server room
I have a 1.5 TB USB hard drive attached to me E4200. Configuring it so that multiple computers have access and can read and write their files is quite simple. I've followed the instructions and had no difficulty.
My problem is this, after about a week's time has passed any file that has been on the hard drive for more than a week become undeletable. Any attempt to modify it or remove it pops up a message saying I need permission from a specific user (always the user that I am currently logged in as!) to perform the operation on the file.
When this starts to happen, the device is, otherwise, perfectly functional. I will still be able to create new files and delete any newly created files from the drive without difficulty even when those files are in the same directory as the files that the device will no longer let me edit. Examination of the file properties dialog shows that the files that the device refuses to allow me to delete are identical in every way to any new file that I create. Yet newly created files are removable but these older files ... are not.
I'm quickly coming to the conclusion that the HDD mounting feature of the device just doesn't actually work as advertised.
FWIW: all my computers are using Windows 7 with the latest build. I do access the device from these computers wirelessly.
however recently when i check my internet usage log on my wireless company (Rogers) the usage is totally off from what my bandwidth tracker shows me. So i decide to turn off my wifi and see what happens, there has always been this weird wifi connection appearing whenever my wifi appears, then afterwards when i turn off my wifi the suspicious wifi connections disappear. is this possible that someone is using our wifi? i might just be overreacting but it has brought me to concern that if the usage continues my family will have to end up paying over $30 for extra internet use. it is very frustrating me because when i check my DHCP client table it only shows 3 connection, ethernet - my desktop which is not turned on, 2 wireless connection - my laptop and my sister's laptop.
What is the difference between HWIC-1ADSL-M and HWIC-1ADSL without the "-M"?Can either of the above ADSL cards be used in Cisco 3845 router? We are using HWIC-1ADSL-M in our Cisco 3845 routers everywhere?
I am testing a Cisco 1552 and cannot seem to set it to use the 40 MHz channels. In the controller GUI is is set to use 40 MHz channels under DCA for 802.11a but when I go into the CLI and show the config of the AP it shows the channel width to be 20 MHz. If I try to change the channel width through the CLI I get "radio is not disable or ap not set to customize" or something like that. The radio is disabled globally and locally. Is there a way to set the AP or radio to a "customize" mode?
What prompted this was I was testing the throughput on it and can only get a 130 mbps data rate connection to it. The data sheet says it will support 300 mbps with the 40 mhz channel so I was trying to test it atteh higher rate. The HW is a Cisco 4402 with 7.0.230 software on it, 1552E.
I have WRV210-E V01 router and there is only 11 (instead of 13) WiFi channels available. Firmware 2.0.1.5. How to get all 13 channels (European ETSI standard)?
I've got a deployment of 1142N APs using a pair of 5508 controllers running 7.3.101.0. We're in the United States and the country is set to "US". I've added the UNII-2 channels to Auto-RF on the controllers via "config advanced 802.11a channel add 100" and so forth. According to the output of " show advanced 802.11a channel", I've enabled every 5 GHz channel that's legal for use in the US:
My confusion comes because the automatic assignment of 5 GHz channels is heavily biased toward just a few of them, with most of the available space being ignored. Here are the 5 GHz channel assignments from a large, single-story building with 31 APs:
(qty 2) 36 (qty 6) 40 (qty 5) 44 [ code].....
A total of nine channels are used (two of them only once) while twelve other channels are ignored completely. Many of these APs are close enough to hear one another, so assigning seven of them to ch. 48 makes no sense.
Looking at my campus as a whole, I've got numerous APs using channels 36, 40, 44, 48, 149, 153, 157, 161, and 165. I've got at least one each using channels 52, 56, 60, 64, 112, 116, and 132. Nothing at all is on 100, 104, 108, 136, and 140. I am using 20 MHz wide channels, between, so all are independent.
Can anyone shed light on A) why my distribution is so heavily skewed toward the first nine channels, and B) how I can learn whether certain channels are being avoided due to the presence of radar, etc, on the frequency? I'd like to take full advantage of 5 GHz by having as little channel re-use as possible.
Where you get get a modern ISDN modem with at least 4 channels? I am 2 miles from Cable and .5 miles from dsl.ISDN is the only option cause I play games online. Would 256K or 128K Up and Down be enough for playing FPS games on xbox live? I cant find any ISDN modems that are new. Only used ones on ebay that I dont know would work on windows 7.
I recently had to reset my router, back to factory default. The problem is after setting it up again and everything it's still somehow broadcasting the old network name. Alongside the new one.
I took my tv off of the cable, and am watching the Analog channels. Is there a way I can freely watch like USA HD, and such? Also, I have comcast I was going to watch stuff over the internet is there a way around minus switching to business class from comcast to not count toward bandwith?
We have a Cisco 2504 controller and approximately 35 AP's. Some of the AP's are located directly above each other (on another floor). When I run a basic annalyzer, it appears that there is some adjacent AP traffic, the controller has some of the close AP's with the same channel, so there is some RF interferance. The AP's currently are all setup for "G" and majority of the AP's are 1200 series, most of them are 1242's. Should and can the AP's be set with static channels so that there is no adjacent signals? If so where in the controller can that be done?
Couple questions on setting channels on Cisco 1552s. First off almost all locations are fibered and set as RAPs. It doesn't allow me to set the channel assignment method to "global" to use DCA. It says it can't be done for a mesh backhaul AP. Is there any way around this? Next, when the channel is set to "custom" there are only 5 channels listed to choose from in the UNII-3 band. The spec sheet on the 1552 shows it supports other frequencies in the UNII-2 and UNII-2 extended range. Why can't I select those channels?
