does the cisco wlc 2504 (software release 7.4) support QoS per-user bandwidth contracts ? I only can see the default QoS profiles (gold, platinum...) i can't see the per-user bandwidth contract to modify it. shoud it be activated ?
One of our customers have one Cisco WLC 2100 (firmware 5.2) with 4 AP Mesh 1522, in a city deployment. In order to achieve local regulatory, has to implement bandwidth limitations per user.
I got screen captures of WLC QoS Profiles options, with Average Data Rate in Per-User Bandwidth Contracts. So my question is, do I need any other equipment to achieve per user bandwidth limitation? Can it be done with WLC QoS options?
I'm looking at the spec sheet comparing Cisco WLCs and I see that the 2504 has a bandwidth max of 500mbps. Just to be clear, not all of the traffic from the APs goes through the WLC does it? In this setup, the APs would be plugged into a PoE switch as well as the WLC. The only traffic to WLC would be the CAPWAP tunnel, CleanAir info, etc right? All other traffic should just be handeld at the switch right? Also, does the 2504 licencing include CleanAir in the price?
My QA team needs to test number of special connectivity scenarios where their wireless connection has a limited bandwidth.Ideally, I would like to provide them number of SSIDs each of which has different bandwidth limitation. But so far I did not find a way to apply any bandwidth limitations to my 2504 Wireless controller and the 3602E AP.QoS has only 4 pre-defined modes which can't be set to a specific limit.
I found 20Mhz bandwidth enable option in 2504 controller. But what about 40 Mhz .The access points(1142) are dual band...I hope it should support in 2504 controller also.If there is no option of 40Mhz
i have configured wlc 2504 .in that i have configured two interfaces.one is guest, 2nd is internal user, the pblm when user try to connect with that contain ssid user not getting ip address,
i have connected only one link between core to wlc on port 1.for guest interface i used port 4.but no physical link.
We are planning to setup a new WLAN using Cisco 2504 WLAN Controller and 1142N Access Point. Is it possible to create individual user accounts for the users those who all are connecting to this WLAN Network by using the 2504 WLAN Controller ?
I have a 20/20 MB circuit and an ASA 5510 and I am able to setup policing were the interace gets 512k down and 128k up so when I conduct a speed test with one user I get 512k and 128k and when I conduct a speed test with two users each gets 256k and 64k. [code] What I want to happen is that each user gets 512k and 128k until a saturation point is hit and then I want the ASA to slow all users down equally.
how to limit bandwidth only for user account in window 7...My PC has 2 account ..one is admin and other is user ..i need to limit the bandwidth only for user account ,do I need a software for this.
The rest of us use wifi for our internet services but this isn't good enough for are newest member so they have now connected a cable directly into the modem, so now whenever he is online ALL wifi suffers dramatically! What can i do to limit his bandwidth and allow the wifi to gain more access is there a way to limit via his MAC address or IP address?
I need to find a free software to find who is the heaviest bandwidth user on my LAN.The problem is that some of the users on LAN keep downloading/uploading all the time & i couldn't get to view any web-pages?
I currently have 2 5505 SEC BUN as Primary/FO Firewalls and I am considering purchasing the ASA5510-AIP10-K9 for use as a dedicated IPS device. Looking at [URL] I see that for service updates, CON-SU1-AS1A10K9 is available for this product, providing "IPS Signature and Engine Updates" and "OS Updates."It is my understanding that in the ASA5510-AIP10-K9 there are 2 OS:
1. ASA OS 2. AIP SSM-10 OS
My question is: Are both the ASA and AIP SSM-10 able to receive "OS updates" with this service contract?
how can I configure a Catalyst 3750, which interface is patched on the ISP router (internet uplink bandwidth = 20Mbps with) to allow all active users are sharing the bandwidth (either 5, 50, 100, user simultaneously..in internet surfing. right now it's like when a user starts a larger download that it uses the bulk of the bandwidth, and other users can reach all remaining extremely slow access times.
I have a cisco 2950 switch, connected with 4Mbps of internet and number of users will access the internet. There is no restraction on bandwidth limit for users, if any body use high download the remaining users are facing the slow browsing problems.
So, if i can put a bandwidth limitation for every users the problem will be solved. how to restract the bandwidth on user bases.
configuring a switch or a router to limit the bandwidth for a specific user/IP when need it. Most of my remote offices are configured like this:
Users ------ 3560 switch ------- 2801 router -------- T1 to NOC -------- 7204 router with channelized DS3
I use Netflow Analyzer for high bandwidth usage alerts and can see the user's IP right away when someone is clogging our T1s. My goal is to be able to temporarily limit the bandwidth of the user taking over the T1. Whatever is best switch config or on the router.
We are running ACS 5.2 patch 6 and want to restrict access for users to be able to add devices to the system. For example, admin person in site A can only add devices into the site A group and cannot see/access other sites groups.
We are using an ASA 5510 and remote access (SSL VPN) using the AnyConnect client.
Is it possible to display a user message when a user connects using the AnyConnect client, matching a specific dynamic access policy? Can the message be displayed when the action is "Continue" rather than "Terminate"? I can't seem to get this to work and wondered if there was a LUA function to do this.
We have a DAP which gives a restricted ACL when the user's anti-virus is out of date, and I wanted to notify the user to update their anti-virus and reconnect.
We have 1 mpbs bandwidth line, but most of the time we are getting only 300-500 kpbs download speed, i want to send statistics report to our ISP, what will be best procedure to test the bandwidth report, i have checked in some websites like bandwidthplace and speedtest but these sites are not accurate, how to check the actual bandwidth we getting from ISP against 1 Mbps. We have solarwinds monitoring tool in this i have configured the WAN interface for 1 mbps
So I bought a 2504 AP. I also have some AIR-CAP3602I-A-K9. The WLC web interface sees them in the CDP neighbors. The devices get an ip address but I can't add them as access points. I think if I can do that I can get something simple going.
On the access points I get the stuff below. I didn't set it? At least not the
CISCO-CAPWAP-CONTROLLER
I'll be honest I've never set one of these up and I'm on a steep learning curve!
% Invalid input detected at '^' marker. %Default route without gateway, if not a point-to-point interface, may impact performance
I have a wireless controller that works perfect but because we have some new access-points 1602i that is only supported bij software version 7.4.100.0. So I need to upgrade the controller because I now have version 7.0.116.0. I have read in release notes of version 7.4.100.0 that I first need to upgrade to 7.0.240.0 to avoid losing those VLAN settings.
Note If you have VLAN support and VLAN mappings defined on H-REAP access points and are currently using a 7.0.x controller software release that is prior to 7.0.240.0, we recommend that you upgrade to the 7.0.240.0 release and then upgrade to 7.4.100.0 to avoid losing those VLAN settings.
But I also read something about Field Upgrade Software. If you are using a Cisco 2500 Series controller and you intend to use the Application Visibility and Control (AVC) and Net Flow protocol features, you must install Wireless LAN Controller Field Upgrade Software for Release 1.8.0.0-FUS. This is not required if you are using other controller hardware models. For more information, see [URL] .....
Here is the system information of my controller: Manufacturer's Name.............................. Cisco Systems Inc.Product Name..................................... Cisco Controller Product Version.................................. 7.0.116.0Bootloader Version............................... 1.0.16Field Recovery Image Version..................... 1.0.0Firmware Version................................. PIC 16.0 Build Type....................................... DATA + WPS System Name...................................... WIFI-WLC-01System Location.................................. System [Code] ....
I was thinking of the following steps: 1. Backup the current config 2. Upgrade to version 7.0.240.0 3. Test and backup the config 4. Upgrade to version 7.4.100.0 5. Test and backup the config 6. Upgrade Field Upgrade Software 1.8.0.0 7. Test
I'm having some weird issues where I cannot ping from the WLC to the IAS RADIUS server. All of my clients cannot connect, but from the switch, router, RADIUS server, and hard wired clients, I can ping to the WLC and RADIUS server. The only thing that cannot ping the RADIUS server is the WLC itself. Nothing in the FW is blocking connectivity. [code]
I'm planning to upgrade our WLC 2504 from 7.2.111.3 to 7.4.100.0 but the cisco site says "WLC Version 7.4.100.0 will need Prime Infrastructure Version 1.3 to be managed, Version 1.3 is not yet available to download at this point of time" Is it something about NCS? we have only 1 cisco WLC 2504 and 6 1142APs.. Also let me know is it possible to go directly from 7.2 to 7.4 ?
I've problem with a WLC 2504. Some Clients like phones and Thin Clients get an IP 0.0.0.0.Software Version is 7.0.235.0. Test with a Laptop seams to be OK. Some printers also got an 0.0.0.0.Around 30% are not OK. also had the log: Impersonation of AP with Base Radio MAC 00:yy:yy:yy:yy:yyusing source address of 00:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx has been detected by the AP with MAC Address: 00:yy:yy:yy:yy:yy on its 802.11b/g radio whose slot ID is 0 The problem is, I cannot go to 7.2 version because I have 2 x AP 1231 and 2 x 1242 AP's.1231 AP's are not anymore supported in 7.2 Version.
I have two WLC 2504 controllers. These controllers are for two different buildings. But they share a VLAN, and network address range. How can I control the access points to the register selected only at a specific controller.
Example:
AP 1 -> WLC 1 AP 2 -> WLC 2 AP 3 -> WLC 1
Since the buildings also broadcast in different SSID. The two controllers are in a mobility group.
I'm having issue to setup authentication with our external Radius server so I'm thinking whether the 2504 has inbuilt feature which I can configure as a Radius server? if so are there any guide for configuration?
