Cisco Wireless :: 1131AG - How To Disable Syslog Counter
Oct 24, 2012
I can't figure out how to disable the syslog counter on my 1131AG WAP. See the below example log, the counter (number 3614) is right next to the hostname and increments with every syslog message:
Oct 25 07:31:10 airhead 3614: %DOT11-6-ASSOC: Interface Dot11Radio0, Station 7c61.93a4.8332 Associated KEY_MGMT[WPAv2 PSK]
I've tried both of the following commands, neither one removes the counter:
no service sequence-numbers
no logging count
Version Info:
Cisco IOS Software, C1130 Software (C1130-K9W7-M), Version 12.4(10b)JDA, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
BOOTLDR: C1130 Boot Loader (C1130-BOOT-M) Version 12.3(8)JEA, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc2)
On autonomous AP's one can disable the bright status LED using the "led ....." command. But how can I disable the LED on a LAP-1131AG? The AP hangs in a bedroom so the light is quite annoying.
Add the ability to send syslog events to multiple syslog servers in the SA500 Series routers. I know the functionality is currently in the RV220W because we utilized it. It would be great if you could configure the syslog servers by event type as well. For example, being able to send the kernel events to syslog server A, and all other events to syslog server B.
Recently i have upgraded the IOS of ASA5550 (in HA mode) to 8.4.2 from 8.0.5, after OS upgrade we found that the syslog from thses firewalls are not getting captured/transfered to centralised syslog server. The server is reachable from the firewalls.
my friend and i want to play counter strike online but we can only play on LAN when i tried to connect online i only get connected but my friend didnt get connected i think this is ip adress conflict?
In the Dual ring network using the token passing method, we have the primary ring and the secondary one where in the normal situation only the primary ring is carrying the token in one direction and when this ring is down the secondary will start into operation and takes the token and rotate in the inverse direction of the primary to reach its destination. Why the secondary ring doesn't continue in the same direction to the destination?
I can configure two APs as a bridge with one as an AP with RMW enabled, and the other in WGB mode. I have three VLAN, each configured on both APs with their own SSID. Each switch (cisco switches) port is in trucking with only the three vlan allowed. The APs are associating with each other but not passing VLAN traffic.
My customer has an 1131AG AP, andhas Problems with joining to the controller. I did a debug and have the following output. The WLC (5508) shows the AP with Primary SW version as 3.0.51.0. this Release does not showup in any compat matrix! It seems to start downloading the software. after a while it stops with the bolded output, twice the same Bytecount!?

I have succeeded in turning the AP from autonomous into LWAPP mode with the Ugrade tool. The AP has been loaded with c1130-rcvk9w8-tar.124-10b.jda due to the upgrade tool version 3.4,After reboot, the AP appears on the vwlc (YES!) however as you can see in APvwlc.jpg the AP now have version 3.0.51.0.I need the AP to be loaded with version 7.3.101.0 with FlexConnect mode.
We have six 1131AG WAP's, lightweight, managed through a 2514 controller. We have a Windows 2008R2SP1 domain. Wireless users can connect to the network, and log on to the domain without any apparent 'issues'. They can access domain resources. However, they cannot browse the domain in Network Neighborhood. Interestingly, they can map a drive to shares on the servers, so long as they manually type in the path. This occurs with desktops running Windows 7 Pro, 32 and 64 bit; XP Pro SP1, 32 and 64 bit; ditto for laptops. The wireless NICs vary as to manufacturer, but do include Trendnet, Intel Centrino, and Intel Pro 100/1000. If I connect any of these machines via by wire, they can access all domain resources and browse the domain in Network Neighborhood in the usual manner.
I have WAP4410N and AP-1131AG for the school lab's Access point. First, WAP4410N doesn't make connection to wired network.
There's no DHCP server in our school and uses below :
192.168.x.x ip address 255.255.0.0 Subnet 192.168.1.254 Gateway 210.220.16.7 DNS address.
So I seted these settings on the configuration page, but when I connect to the WAP4410N wireless, I can't connect to the internet. Problem reporter in Windows 7says there's IP adress problem on the access point. ...but the ip address is correct. I did everything on the manual ....
Second, AP-1131AG. I entered with console cable and changed the ip address. And I enabled wireless radio(default:disabled) but I cannot find SSID with wlan. I added SSID on SECURITY-SSID manager. It says 'interface on' on 802.11a/g, but it is the same. I can't find SSID. other labtops can't, too.. tried using vlan. FAILED....
I have a Cisco 2106 WLC, and a 1131ag Access Point. The 802.11a/g Radio "Operational Status" = DOWN. All other Radios are UP. I'm wondering if this is normal behavior as no clients are connecting to it over the 802.11a/g Radio.
we have the WLC and 2 x Aironet AP's that is powers over PoE. The other day is was reloaded and since then the AP points are Blinking Red, according the the Aironet manaul this means some sort of boot error? They are also not appearing on the WLC from the GUI or CLI running a show ap summary. Interesting though I can see them via CDP, however they are not picking up IP's as they are listed as 0.0.0.0. After checking with colleagues I was told these were set statically.
Is it possible that the points not having IP addresses is a sign of a corrupt boot environent? I would have though they would not have appeared in CDP if they were corrupt?
I did not set this up in the first place so a little puzzled at the moment? Nothing has changed on the config bar using a different NTP server on the network?
I had deployed Fifty 1131AG AP with Cisco 5508 Controller, the problem is some APs giving a orange ligth and some of them didn't flashing "there Led is Off"
I have several AP's of 1131 AG used in autonomous mode. Recently one of them stops responding: i was not able to access web management or ping its NIC. I've tried with reseting device to default but no success, even more when i plug ethernet cable to AP port nothing happens even NIC led's are not blinking at all.
On CLI console i am seeing repeated constantly such entries:
*Mar 1 05:19:04.086: %LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface BVI1, changed state to up *Mar 1 05:19:05.086: %LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface BVI1, changed state to up
[Code].....
( i have new firmware but how to upload it without this interface running ? )
I have configured my AP with MBSSID and it does work fine. now I need to take it to the next level and introduce the 2nd ssid to be my home guest network for friends and family that are visiting. What else should I include on this configuration to allow for a hot spot where the user logons and must authenticate themselves via a secure web browser before going out to the internet. Next question would be how to increase the security of the device and the AP.

I have a problem with three AIR-LAP1131AG-E-K9 that joined the controller and the status led turns to yellow after joining the controller while other LEDs are blinking green. The APs has no coverage at all although the WCS shows that there is coverage and the 4400WLC shows that the AP interfaces are UP. (The ethernet interface and tha 802.11b,g radio interface is up).The SSID broadcast is enabled. On the switch the interface is up and there is traffic going in and out of the LAP.I tired power reset and factory reset for the APs but the problem remains the same.
We have multiple Cisco Aironet 1131AG devices, all wired on one Cisco L2 switch(2560) who is connected to L3 switch (3550). We assigned one VLAN for access point in L3 switch who acts as vtp server (L2 switch is vtp client). All ap's will have static ip address and all will have same SSID and no security and they will be using multiple channels (ex. 1,6,11). They will operate in 3 floor building for roaming wireless client. We won't using any wireless controller.
How to configure APs-all the same with different ip's, can we use L3 switch to create dhcp server for access points VLAN (pool for clients, and the rest for static ip for ap's)?
Im using 1131AG AP.Locally switched WLAN don't have problem.Authentication used: open/wpa-psk/wpa2-psk.Pinging the IP Address of the vWLC dynamic interface (WLAN-SSID Mapping) is ok, but with the gateway failed.
One of my customers asked me to configure a WLC 2106 and 2 LAP 1131AG (lightweight) for corporate/guest Wifi. Basically they want to implement a good wifi connection for internal use and a guest one with different QoS. The two lans should both have dhcp but they must bet kept segregated so that none from the Guest wifi can access corporate resources.
Since i've never configured a WLC from scrath i lightly supposed it would be quite straigh forward as routers and switches from Cisco.Unfortunately i was totally wrong.
I've downloaded the "Cisco Wireless LAN ControllerConfiguration Guide" (Soft.Release 6.0 June 2009) and after i red it i made up this workflow for the configurations:
1) Configure Controller: (via serial) - Set Management Interface parameters (IP- SM - Def GW - Dhcp server IP) - Set Ap-Manager Interface parameters - Virtual Interface parameters - Set Admin Credentials - Dhcp Configuration (internal and/or external)
2) Ap registration on the controller - Configure vlan with dhcp request redirection to the dhcp server
3) Configure Wlan following customer's requests. - Configure Wlan Auth for Corporate/Guest Wifi - Configure QoS for both Wlans
Unfortunately i'm experiencing issue while trying joining the AP to the WLC.It appers that the IT guy of my customer tried to configure one of the Ap.In that Ap's flash i find files referring to a "mesh" configuration like: [code]
I have initially configured 2504 controller with necessary parameters. & we have LAP1131AG access Points. we have connected 2 Nos. of access points in network. we are getting Both AP connected with controller,Whenver i am trying to connect with this wireless network though SSID( currently, open authentication), laptop's not connecting with it. it shown error that " Windows was unable to connect to SSIDname "
We're getting complaints about a specific 1131AG in the field only being intermittently accessible. WCS shows both the a and b/g interfaces randomly bouncing, sometimes the reason for the bounce is unknown other times it says it's because it lost connection to the controller. I can ssh into the WCS but the engineer who setup the AP's doesn't seem to have enabled remote access via telnet or ssh.
We are also seeing these events:
802.11a interface of AP * is down: Controller 172.17.0.10 Reason: Max retransmissions for the AP have reached.Interference threshold violation reported by '802.11b/g' interface of AP *, connected to Controller '172.17.0.10'.I know I can adjust the threshold percentage, but that would only seem to mask the issue.WCS gives this version info on the AP:
Versions <DIV style="DISPLAY: block" id=versions mcestyle="display: block;"> Software Version 6.0.202.0 Boot Version 12.3.8.0
Does the latest version of the Network Assistant support the AP1131AG / AP1131G model?
From the "supported device list" documentation it seems yes, but I've tried to import them into the map and received the message indicating that is not supported as a device...AP1242AG/1242G are not having this problem.
