View 1 RepliesI just bought a WAP321 Wireless AP. I wonder why it cannot sync with our time server automatically. Every time I reboot it, the system time become "Fri Dec 31 1999 12:00:00 UCT". I have to do the sync manually by clicking on the "Save" button under the menu Administration > Time Setting.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a Netgear ProSafe FVS318 wireless router whose login information I have lost. I have attempted to manually reset it using the reset button on the back, and return it to factory default settings (thus resetting the login information to admin/password).I have checked everywhere, including the documentation for the router itself. I have gotten multiple instructions on how to reset it (generally telling me to hold the button down for anywhere from 10 seconds to 30 seconds until the test light blinks or stays solid and then blinks or stays solid again, or telling me to hold down the button while turning it on). None of these methods have worked. The router still will not reset. It never reboots no matter how long I hold down the button, no matter when I release it, no matter what the orange "test" light is doing, and no matter if I begin with the router on or off. It will not reboot and I still cannot login.
The orange "test" light has behaved the same way each time; after 10 seconds, it turns solid, and then begins blinking before turning back off. After 20 seconds, it turns solid, and then turns off. It does this if I hold the reset button down for 10 seconds, regardless of whether or not I release the button after it first turns solid. If I continue to hold down the reset button, it continues this pattern indefinitely, for as long as the button is held. When I turn the router on, it turns solid before turning off, regardless of whether I am holding the rest button down. Its behavior never deviates from the observed patterns regardless of what I do. At no point has the router ever rebooted on its own.The default login should be admin/password, as this information is included on the bottom of the router, and in its documentation.
We have currently LMS 3.2 installed. We know have some new switches C2960-48PST-L that are not supported in CiscoView and Common Services.When trying an update in Software Center | Device Update, we receive an error message:Error while downloading package information from Cisco.com for the selected products. it is normal for the WISM2 time to be resetted to default of 1 Jan 2000 after rebooting the 6506E if no NTP is configured?I had to configure it back to the correct time. If not, the APs will not come up.Also, does the ap or wlc keep track of the ap group the ap is provisioned to?
View 3 Replies View Related I have DIR-655, 1.33NA. Recently, I noticed the clock in the router was off, so I wanted to correct it. Each and every time I go through the steps to reset the clock, using time server or clone computer time, or manual reset, after the save settings and reboot of the router, i find the router still displays the wrong time, and frequently reverts itself to a time on Feb 22, 2012. Same problem for trying to reset the DST settings, turning automatic time from server on and off, changing the time server polled. Additionally, I have forced the router to factory settings and rebuilt all of my configuration no less than 4 times.
So, since I recently had to trade out the cable modem because Cablevision fried it with their 'system upgrade', I'm also wondering if the same shenanigans also damaged the router.
At times when my laptop is running a dianostic it says maybe your DNS is haveing a problem. I don't know what a is DNS
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem about the caller time out.#dialer idle-timeout 180 either..So the ISDN call will be disconnect after 180 sec.However even there is traffic on the ISDN line, it will disconnect after 180 sec.For example I PING -t command to the destination IP address, it will start dialing out after I run the PING command from srouce PC, but it will disconnect after 180 sec even continue to PING.I checked the remaining time by the command #show caller timeouts.It won't reset the remaining Timer parameter. View 1 Replies View RelatedMy wireless network consists mainly of approximately 1400 AP's 900 x 3602's, 500 x 3502's,The majority of these AP's especially the new ones have been manually optimised for channel and power settings. We paid an external surveyor to survey and optimise the AP's.
We have a few 5505 WLC's and the channel assignment method is set to "Freeze" ,My question is, if someone invokes a channel update on a WLC, will the WLC override the original manual channel setting if the WLC thinks it should be changed? And will the original setting be lost forever unless a restore is performed from the WLC Database?
I got a new HP laptop running Windows 7. When I turn on my laptop, my wireless is off. So I click on F12 (my wireless button), to activate my wireless. The orange light turns blue. Even though the light indicates that my wireless is on, I have to go to device manager>networking>802.11n>advanced then activate my radio for my laptop to pick up the wireless signals. The problem is that I have to do this every time I turn on my laptop, and its getting quite repetitive.

We received new tablet and smart tv but cannot use them due to connection problems. The tv will not connect to the router and the tablet shows strong router strength but will not connect to the internet. I checked for firmware updates and there are 3. Do I simply install the latest firmware or all 3?
We have a 2504 Wireless Controller and it works great!We currently have 6 Access Points (Aironet 1252) connected.We just added the sixth one a few weeks ago and with a properly configured and fully functioning Wireless Controller, it was super easy.Now, I have been assigned to add another Access Point, but at a remote site.The plan is to have up to three or more APs at this remote location and we want them to talk back to the Wireless Controller.We have plenty of licences on our current Wireless Controller.Do do not want to spend the funds for another Wireless Controller and more licenses.

2. If the AP is on a different subnet than the Wireless Controller, how does one get it registered?

i have a problem with our new 5508 wireless controller (7.0.116.0).
Port 1 is the system default "management" (Port 2 is backup). Dynamic AP Management is disabled. Port 3 is a new dynamic interface "ap-manager 2" with Dynamic AP Management enabled and has a ip in a seperated VLAN which is not routed.
When i am connecting the AP (1260 series) to the "ap-manager 2" interface, then it will not join and i get an error message on the WLC:

When i am connecting the AP to the "management2 interface, then it is working fine. But i don't want the APs in the Management LAN. I want them in the separated no routed LAN explicit for the APs.
I recently upgraded my WRT610N to Firmware Version: 2.00.01 and now the unit powers down on its own after a few hours. Are there any known issues with this firmware?Is there any way to roll back to the previous version of the firmware?

I am having a rather annoying problem. I run a small hotel (just 3 floors) and my modem gives a strong enough signal to provide wireless access to everybody in the house however I'm finding that a lot of people, whilst they can connect to the modem, cannot browse online. Connection just times out when they open their browsers.Recently a guest gave me his laptop and asked me if I could do anything with it. I'm by no means an expert when it comes to this kind of thing so I chanced my arm by putting his MAC address into the CP's Wireless/MAC Filter page. He connected immediately and was able to go online much to my relief.
Thing is, I don't want to have to do this for every guest that comes through my door! Is there any way everybody who has a laptop can connect without me manually entering their MAC addresses? MAC restrict mode is set to 'disabled' but I thought that would allow everybody unrestricted access?
I'm using two WAP321 with 4 VLANS
VLAN 100 - WPA PSK
VLAN 101 - WPA Radius
VLAN 102 - open (captive portal)
VLAN 103 - Management (no wifi)
Everything worked fine until I activated clustering on both devices yesterday. Since then, I can't connect via wifi anymore. I still have access to the management via ethernet. It seems like the wifi clients are not able to reach the Portal, Radius or DHCP Server anymore.
I have a WAP321. The unit hangs about on every day. Web interface and WLAN let not respond anymore. By a reset the unit will be back. I have put all unnecessary stale. Tracing the turned on, I can say nothing flashy.

Having just updated the firmware I was surprised that it overwrote my configuration (WAN LAN & WiFi) settings.Is this normal for TP-Link firmware updates ?
Will this router ever see a firmware update so that we can have some additional functionality? The version of Twonky Media server that was bundled with this router was old to begin with, and now we are stuck with it? I tried the E4200 but it just kept spinning my drive that's parked in a ThermalTake BlackX, at least the 3000 doesn't do that, but when can we expect some new firmware, it's been 8 months. I used to love Linksys, but with this kind of support I may have to move to a different brand, and I bet I am not alone. it doesn't break the E3000 like you broke the 4200.

I also have Qos Engine on for allowing me to have 2 xboxes on Open NAT.problem is my wireless signal for some wired reason is VERY weak. A while ago it used to work really far way outside. It was around 150ft distance at 4 bars. Now for some reason I can't even go upstairs without getting a 1 or 2 bar signal.

We have a Model WRT54GLWireless-G router. At least once a day it loses it's internet connection. All computers that are wired to the switch that is connected to it lose their internet as well as any wireless devices. I have to manually power-cycle the router to get internet back.
