Linksys Wireless Router :: E3000 Caller ID's Time And Date Are Always Wrong
Feb 29, 2012I have a E3000 with newest firmware that has a VOIP by Velcom. It's a Grand stream HT–286.My device is working perfectly with the router. Can call and recieve calls. the caller ID (Name and number that appears is accurate). The only problem is the caller ID's time and date are always wrong.When I unplug device, it goes back to Jan 1 and time 12:00am.Any call I then get is wrong.
In the router, I've enabled SIP ALG. And the firewall is only filtering ident (port 113) and Anonymous Internet requests.The device has a hard coded internal IP (192.168.123.110). and I reserve the IP using mac filtering.The device has an administration page that is unavailable to users as it's locked by a password. On this page has an NTP server setting that the device uses to get it's time/date.I see on the information page of the device that iot's registered to a sip server.The company is saying that it's a firewall issue. I'm not too sure how to proceed.

D-Link DIR-655 :: Time Will Not Reset
Mar 4, 2012 I have DIR-655, 1.33NA. Recently, I noticed the clock in the router was off, so I wanted to correct it. Each and every time I go through the steps to reset the clock, using time server or clone computer time, or manual reset, after the save settings and reboot of the router, i find the router still displays the wrong time, and frequently reverts itself to a time on Feb 22, 2012. Same problem for trying to reset the DST settings, turning automatic time from server on and off, changing the time server polled. Additionally, I have forced the router to factory settings and rebuilt all of my configuration no less than 4 times.
So, since I recently had to trade out the cable modem because Cablevision fried it with their 'system upgrade', I'm also wondering if the same shenanigans also damaged the router.

Jun 6, 2011I am having a problem about the caller time out.#dialer idle-timeout 180 either..So the ISDN call will be disconnect after 180 sec.However even there is traffic on the ISDN line, it will disconnect after 180 sec.For example I PING -t command to the destination IP address, it will start dialing out after I run the PING command from srouce PC, but it will disconnect after 180 sec even continue to PING.I checked the remaining time by the command #show caller timeouts.It won't reset the remaining Timer parameter. I can login to console port and copy the error messages below. Reload the router and it will return back to normal operation. Re-installed IOS but still the same.

Home Network :: PC Keeps Connecting To The Wrong Router?
Feb 18, 2012I'm in university halls, using the university wireless network. The network seems to be a large number of routers all with the same SSID on the same network.Usually my connection is great; but sometimes my computer decides to switch to the router from another flat. A few minutes ago my wireless config utility told me I was connected to the flat 24 router. I am now connection to the flat 26 router. It wouldn't be much of a problem, only it's give or take, around 140 times slower because of how far away it is. Heres a quick comparison of the speeds:ad Connection: (The ping here is very mis-leading, it took several minutes to calculate the ping and several more minutes simply to start the download whereas on the previous test it was instant)Here is one I took in December which shows how bad the ping can get:How do I tell my computer to ignore those other routers with the same SSID? They have different MAC addresses, is there something I can do with that? Windows can't tell the difference, I have to do it through the driver software that came with my Edimax wireless card, it recognises each router seperately but ultimately it always recognises it primarily by it's SSID. Sometimes it sticks to the good one, sometimes it changes every few minutes and I have to manually change it back and it is very frustrating, can't it just ignore the bad connection completely?
I can't login to change any of the router settings and the router doesn't have any ethernet ports for students to use, so I need a solution from the PC end (If I could i'd simply change the SSID to something slightly different so it didn't clash, then there would be no problem). The router is literally right outside my door, but my computer insists on switching to the one 50 metres away instead

It always report 255.255.255.255. The dyndns information is all entered correctly and says "connected" in the dyndns configuration. So what is wrong with the adress update from the dir-655 to the dyndns server ? Of course I cannot use my dyndns adress since it is always at the wrong adress.

I have the RV042 on a 192.168.5.1 subnet, and that is where my server and other local resources are. I wanted to add wireless for guests, but do not want the guests to have access to local resources, so I plugged the wireless router into RV042 and configured it for a 192.168.1.1 subnet. I can get internet access, but when I connect with a laptop to the wireless router, I end up being assigned an IP in the 5.1 subnet. I set up the VLAN setting in the RV042 for the correct port, but for some reason I am still being assigned the wrong IP, and I can hit local resources on the wireless.

Nov 6, 2012So network was running fine for about a year or so. Network consists of 1 Motorola SB6120 cable modem attached to a D-Link DIR-601 wireless router. All settings were default except for SSID and WPA password. One day I just couldn't access internet anymore. I've narrowed it down to the default gateway that is being given out through DHCP. The default gateway that is being given out is the IP of the modem (192.168.100.1) and not of the Router (192.168.0.1). I can't find any option on Wireless router to be able to force the gateway address when handing out the gateway IP. Theoretically I thought I should be able to put router on same subnet as modem as 192.168.100.2 but that still doesn't work. If I set the IP adresses statically on the PCs and give it the Gateway of the Router everything works fine. I should mention this is for my boss' house and basically I dont want him calling me everytime he has a friend come over and I have to talk em through setting up a Static IP.
And just for an example this is what I get if I use DHCP:
IP Address: 192.168.0.155
Mask: 255.255.255.0
DNS: 192.168.0.1
Default Gateway: 192.168.100.1
And If I want it to work I have to change the default gateway to 192.168.0.1 I've tried updating routers firmware and reset to factory default numerous times. Is it possible for a router DHCP stop working?
Linksys Wired Router :: BEFSR41 V 3.1 - Firmware Upgraded To Wrong Version
Feb 26, 2012I own a Linksys BEFSR41 v 3.1. I've been attempting to set up a home network with three computers; my main desktop running Windows 7 Pro x64, a netbook running the same OS and a box running Windows Home Server 2011 x64. The firmware listed for my router was initially 1.05.03.
My router has the issue with resetting its administrative password to the factory default and I've been unable to set up remote access to my LAN and home server. I decided to try updating the router's firmware, but none of the versions listed fit the one I have. The label on my router says v 3.1, but Cisco's site only has a 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, then skips to 4.1, 4.2, etc. The instructions on the site warn not to use a version for a different model, but are vague as to exactly what that refers to, as the model # and the version # aren't clearly delineated.
Anyway, I tried using the latest firmware and received the, "File Pattern," error. Although it didn't seem like anything had changed, I reset the router just to be safe, then tried the v 3.0 firmware update, thinking that the software was intended for all revisions of v3.0. This time it reported updating without a problem, so I reset the router again and went back to the admin page in my browser to check the firmware version listed. To my annoyance, the firmware is now listed as 1.05.00 - i.e. an earlier version than what was shipped on the router.
This means that not only is the issue of the password resetting not fixed, but any other fixes included in the original firmware are now wiped out as well and, needless to say, I still can't set up remote access properly.
How do I restore the firmware version? Neither a reset nor a, "Restore to Factory Defaults," does this. How do I find an actual update for the router? I can't find any mention of a v 3.1 on Cisco's site, let alone support information specific to this model and version.
Linksys Wireless Router :: E4200 Update DynDNS With Wrong IP Address
Jan 9, 2012Frameware version: 1.0.03.
Environment: Internet (external IP say 24.x.x.x) ISP provided modem+router (192. 168. 1.x/ 24 IPTV network) E4200 (192.168.0.x/24 my home network).
The DDNS option page did report update succefully and shown the external IP address correctly on the page, however when I login to dynDNS it shows 192.168.1.x, which is the E4200 IP dhcp from the ISP's router.I know that it's double NAT, but the 192.168.1x/24 subnet is the IPTV subnet, and my old Dlink router did support and update the dynDNS entry properly.

Jan 19, 2012I'd like to add a WRT54g2 to my LAN. I'd like it to communicate with my existing LAN router, and not to talk directly to the LAN. Therefore, in Basic Setup, I don't have the top part (Internet Setup) configured. Is that a mistake?But, it seems that when I enable DHCP, it hands out its own IP as gateway, and then doesn't seem to send the traffic on upstream. When I configure clients manually with the real router IP, they work fine.
So, I'd like, I guess, Linksys to forward traffic on a static route to real router. How do I do this? Adding a route to real router yields the error, "maybe default route already exists."
