View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a E3000 with newest firmware that has a VOIP by Velcom. It's a Grand stream HT–286.My device is working perfectly with the router. Can call and recieve calls. the caller ID (Name and number that appears is accurate). The only problem is the caller ID's time and date are always wrong. When I unplug device, it goes back to Jan 1 and time 12:00am.Any call I then get is wrong.
In the router, I've enabled SIP ALG. And the firewall is only filtering ident (port 113) and Anonymous Internet requests. The device has a hard coded internal IP (192.168.123.110). and I reserve the IP using mac filtering. The device has an administration page that is unavailable to users as it's locked by a password. On this page has an NTP server setting that the device uses to get it's time/date.I see on the information page of the device that iot's registered to a sip server. The company is saying that it's a firewall issue. I'm not too sure how to proceed.
I have a WAG160Nv2 with Firmware Version:V2.00.20 Two problems
1. Slow wireless speed - only 2Mbit - with cabte up to the lines max 15Mbit
2. The routers system time is wrong - it says " 03-01-2000 02:19:54" I have set the correct system time but no difference
I have tried a lot of wireless options and some of the timezones but i did not solve the problem
I have enabled Network filtering on MAC address on my D-Link 628 router.
I've noticed entries in the log file - "Access Denied to LAN System with MAC address ______________" for 2 different MAC addresses. I do not recognize these MAC addresses. The entry that immediately follows these messages - "Above message repeated 466 times and 124 times. The entries for these 2 MAC addresses has been occurring multiple times with different repeat numbers over the past few days.
Is this an indication that someone nearby my router is attempting to hack into my wireless router or do I have a configuration issue?
For our children, we use the parental control feature of the DIR-615 (RevD, FW4.11b15), which works excellently. I use the whitelist feature, so only trusted web sites can be accessed. Unfortunately the DIR-615 only has 10 entries in that list and I will soon need more. So I wonder if there is another D-Link router that offers a bigger list with maybe 50 or even 100 entries?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a DIR-655 rev A4 with firmware 1.35NA.I read [URL] 5 which stated that the SECURESPOT feature was removed as of firmware 1.35NA but since upgrading the router to 1.35NA I find the following two log entries mentioning securespot being initiated:
[INFO] Sat Jan 22 21:01:21 2011 Initiating securespot services.
[INFO] Sat Jan 22 21:01:21 2011 Allocating securespot services.
I will mention, before upgrading to 1.35NA I was running the stock 1.21 firmware that shipped with this router. Prior to updating to 1.35NA I had taken a backup of the router settings and after the firmware update was applied I restored this settings backup. Could that be the reason this log entry is showing up? It makes me think securespot is not really removed as is claimed in the release notes for this firmware. Can anyone else with a DIR-655 A4 w/firmware 1.35NA confirm the above two log entries mentioning securespot appear in the log (assuming ALL log settings are turned on) when your router is rebooted?
I just replaced my older D-Link with a DIR-601. I decided to try the email feature, so I set the option to "On Log Full". Within an hour I had 5 emails. I noticed that they were mostly entries reading "DIR-601 local0.debug udhcpd[18594]: UDHCPD Received a SIGUSR1". The "Debug Information" option isn't checked.

I have tried to search for an answer on the forum but I cannot find the correct answer to my issue. I'm having a problem where my dir655 updates the wrong ip adress to dyndns server. It always report 255.255.255.255. The dyndns information is all entered correctly and says "connected" in the dyndns configuration. So what is wrong with the adress update from the dir-655 to the dyndns server ? Of course I cannot use my dyndns adress since it is always at the wrong adress.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo network was running fine for about a year or so. Network consists of 1 Motorola SB6120 cable modem attached to a D-Link DIR-601 wireless router. All settings were default except for SSID and WPA password. One day I just couldn't access internet anymore. I've narrowed it down to the default gateway that is being given out through DHCP. The default gateway that is being given out is the IP of the modem (192.168.100.1) and not of the Router (192.168.0.1). I can't find any option on Wireless router to be able to force the gateway address when handing out the gateway IP. Theoretically I thought I should be able to put router on same subnet as modem as 192.168.100.2 but that still doesn't work. If I set the IP adresses statically on the PCs and give it the Gateway of the Router everything works fine. I should mention this is for my boss' house and basically I dont want him calling me everytime he has a friend come over and I have to talk em through setting up a Static IP.
And just for an example this is what I get if I use DHCP:
IP Address: 192.168.0.155
Mask: 255.255.255.0
DNS: 192.168.0.1
Default Gateway: 192.168.100.1
And If I want it to work I have to change the default gateway to 192.168.0.1 I've tried updating routers firmware and reset to factory default numerous times. Is it possible for a router DHCP stop working?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have installed some 3rd party software for email messaging and it requires SMTP details. I hardly even know what SMTP is. Via google I found one it has something to do with server for sending email messages but I don't want to use SMTP of my ISP which is (referring to smtp and not isp) the one that is being used in microsoft outlook program. But the 3rd party software is different one. It requires FIVE (5) datas and I have no idea how do I find them out:
email
server name
password
username
port
I have been searching for some smtp details what to type with the following requirements:
- smtp must be free to have and use details
- working one
- as fast as possible
- no particular limits
The program also offers to set up ''in-build'' smtp server. If I choose this it works but the message cannot be sent for unknown reason. I don't have firewall and I double checked nothing is wrong with avast antivirus. So I will have to get the smtp details with mentoined four requirements. Don't even know where to search. I found some freeware smtp (or virtual smtp) applications but I need 5 datas to type in and not an application. No idea where to get them. I tried gmal [URL] but its not working, been trying also different ports.
Iam joining sky in the coming week and will be receiving their free router (G Router). I am currently using (Belkin N Router) due to the distance from my computers and interferance (eg , walls, 4 floors).
I understand that I cannot use my own router with sky because they have username & password built into router. I have heard rumours that these details can be extracted.
WHY ON EARTH DO SKY ONLY SUPPLY G ROUTERS
I am looking for a way to hide all that information that can be retrieved about me, for example browser, OS, resolution, location, etc.. Is there a way to prevent the sites from getting that info?

View 8 Replies View Relatedmy router internal time somehow will not working on manual config it will stop after certain period now im trying to use NTP
[code]....
I have DIR-655, 1.33NA. Recently, I noticed the clock in the router was off, so I wanted to correct it. Each and every time I go through the steps to reset the clock, using time server or clone computer time, or manual reset, after the save settings and reboot of the router, i find the router still displays the wrong time, and frequently reverts itself to a time on Feb 22, 2012. Same problem for trying to reset the DST settings, turning automatic time from server on and off, changing the time server polled. Additionally, I have forced the router to factory settings and rebuilt all of my configuration no less than 4 times.
So, since I recently had to trade out the cable modem because Cablevision fried it with their 'system upgrade', I'm also wondering if the same shenanigans also damaged the router.
bought a second hand laptop but all previous owners details are still in. they must have been on a dial-up network want to change to broadband, how? also need to sort out wifi.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHooked up this router the other day to replace my old Linksys G - which has been bulletproof for 8 years. I am now wondering if I made a mistake with this unit.
I set up DDNS - after much trial and error with dyndns it now works fine.I tried to set up NTP time function - does not work. Then I set time manually. Of course on reboot it looses the time since there is no internal time function. So I need NTP.In the course of troubleshooting I turned off DDNS and behold the NTP time function now works. I turn DDNS back on and NTP does not work.
I see no logical connection between these two functions, yet the seem to interact (or not) somehow. When the NTP is not working, on reboot the time displayed in the router is the last time that I MANUALLY set the time, even though that is grayed out since I have (supposedly) activated NTP.
If I do NOTHING to NTP and uncheck DDNS, after reboot the time is correct.I tried many different NTP servers all with the same result.Looking back on-line, I see the NTP function has been a continual problem with some folks (maybe those using DDNS?) in earlier firmware. Come on DLINK don't you think it's time to get this fixed?
