Mar 3, 2011I'm trying to synch time in an ACS 5.1 but after configuring with the ntp server command the show ntp command displays that time is synchronised to local net at stratum 11.The ntp source is a Windows 2003 server and the show ntp command shows that it has an external refid with at stratum 2, but still the ACS won't synchronize with this source, only local.

Jan 10, 2012AI have a Dir-825 router. The 5GHz is turned off and the wirless is on G/N. I have shawcable for my isp and my firmware is 2.06 and its a Rev B Router. I also have Qos Engine on for allowing me to have 2 xboxes on Open NAT.problem is my wireless signal for some wired reason is VERY weak. A while ago it used to work really far way outside. It was around 150ft distance at 4 bars. Now for some reason I can't even go upstairs without getting a 1 or 2 bar signal.

D-Link DIR-655 :: Time Will Not Reset
Mar 4, 2012 I have DIR-655, 1.33NA. Recently, I noticed the clock in the router was off, so I wanted to correct it. Each and every time I go through the steps to reset the clock, using time server or clone computer time, or manual reset, after the save settings and reboot of the router, i find the router still displays the wrong time, and frequently reverts itself to a time on Feb 22, 2012. Same problem for trying to reset the DST settings, turning automatic time from server on and off, changing the time server polled. Additionally, I have forced the router to factory settings and rebuilt all of my configuration no less than 4 times.
So, since I recently had to trade out the cable modem because Cablevision fried it with their 'system upgrade', I'm also wondering if the same shenanigans also damaged the router.
D-Link DIR-655 :: Rev B. 2.00 DDNS And NTP Time Conflict?
Dec 23, 2010Hooked up this router the other day to replace my old Linksys G - which has been bulletproof for 8 years. I am now wondering if I made a mistake with this unit.
I set up DDNS - after much trial and error with dyndns it now works fine.I tried to set up NTP time function - does not work. Then I set time manually. Of course on reboot it looses the time since there is no internal time function. So I need NTP.In the course of troubleshooting I turned off DDNS and behold the NTP time function now works. I turn DDNS back on and NTP does not work.
I see no logical connection between these two functions, yet the seem to interact (or not) somehow.When the NTP is not working, on reboot the time displayed in the router is the last time that I MANUALLY set the time, even though that is grayed out since I have (supposedly) activated NTP.
If I do NOTHING to NTP and uncheck DDNS, after reboot the time is correct.I tried many different NTP servers all with the same result.Looking back on-line, I see the NTP function has been a continual problem with some folks (maybe those using DDNS?) in earlier firmware. Come on DLINK don't you think it's time to get this fixed?

Jan 19, 2011Internet cable to dir655 and cat5 to master computer with slave using wireless. Network between them always works fine. But if master connects to internet the slave will lose the internet until the master disconnects. like it won't share the signal.

it does this for the whole subnet then starts over. i turned off all the broadcasting in all the menu and it still doing it. i upgraded to 2.10NA, but it did not seem to do anything to it. I bought this router on 3-5-11. I have not tried resetting it to factory settings. I wanted to see if i missed something first. Router is on a APC UPS with the modem and the switch.

Oct 21, 2011I have one Cable Modem/Router built in (Netgear CGD24N) and I wish to use two routers (the other being the DIR-655). The Netgear is a fantastic Cable Modem but a ****py router, but I wish to use both. One will be situated upstairs and the other downstairs.I have connected the two at different locations via the wall and the DIR-655 successfully went to the Netgear login page (as I went to 192.168.0.1) but internet connection was not working, whereas the Netgear internet was working. This was connected LAN to LAN.
Another procedure I have tried was connecting to them LAN - INTERNET (INTERNET being the D-link one) and received the following message: "The addressing of the Internet side learnt thru DHCP conflicts with the addressing selected for the LAN side. Internet communications will be disabled until you have changed the LAN side addressing to resolve the problem."
D-Link DIR-655 :: Two Wireless Connections At The Same Time?
Aug 13, 2011My kid is heading off to college with a Toshiba Satellite E-205 laptop and a Kodak ESP Office 2150 printer. She would like to use the wireless printer option on the Kodak, which requires a wireless router. I have a D-Link DIR-655 wireless router that I can send with her.
I know her university has a very robust wireless system for Internet access, so she is going to want to use their wireless access.
So, the DIR-655 sole use will be to allow access to the printer. It will not be accessing the Internet or be cabled into the university's network.
Is it possible to operate TWO wireless connections at the same time so she can hit her university wireless and the DIR-655 so she can print wirelessly?
how do I configure the laptop and the DIR-655 to allow this kind of access?

Sep 30, 2011I have copied my computer's time in the router time setup under Time in the "tools" section of the router setup. After a few days of the router being up without a hard restart, it has lost 10 minutes somehow. I went to the logs and cleared them out and then looked at the entry showing that the log was cleared and looked at my computer clock and the time stamp of the log entry, and it was 10 minutes slower than my computer clock that I had originally set it from. I have a clock plugged in by the computer, and my computer always matches the clock that it plugged in, so I know it isn't my computer loosing time. What is going on here? Why does the router loose the correct time after it has been up and not unplugged or rebooted at all? I know that the router will loose the time if you unplug it, but this isn't the case here.

I went through create a new schedule and did that but again it still connects. Then, in access control, I selected always and put in my son's IP address and created a schedule for him but it won't allow him any internet access.

Nov 23, 2012I have had a DIR-655 router for a few years now, but slowly over time the wireless output has gone down. I have tried changing parameters to only-g or only-n, rebooted, changed other parameters based on what I have read in some of the forums, but have not been able to restore the power. It has an ANT24-230 antenna, and the latest firmware update 1.35NA. Different devices all show the same thing, that even next to the antenna the strength is only 80% in spite of the fact that the wireless output is set to max.
even though I have been working on this for a couple of months now, and am considering buying a new 11AC or 900N router if this is not fixable.
D-Link DCS-930L :: Time And Date Settings?
Aug 26, 2011How to keep the time and date field (in camera settings) to stay? All my other settings seem to be working (and staying) but unless my camera is on all the time, it reverts to 01-01-2011 with a 12:00 am time once I plug it in. I only hook the camera up during the day while I'm at work, so I can keep an eye on my older dogs. I'm not able to view the live video at work (ActiveX issues) so I tried to set up an email schedule so I would be sent pictures.
As a last resort, I went through the wizard set up one more time, thinking I missed something the first time around, but that didn't work either. I am not impressed with D-link support so really don't want to call them unless I absolutely have to.

Apr 27, 2012Last night, I lost my NetFlix connection. It was no biggy, I just restarted the Cheers episode that I had been watching. This morning, I checked the DIR-655 log and the following is what I had found (date and times aren't accurate).

Promiscuous Mode is usually the result of sniffing according to Wiki. Whatever is promiscuous mode. Also, I don't know what device br0 is. I do have my Brother wireless printer connected to the DIR-655 but it's device name is BRW0022581FB096. I was wireless at the time of connection problem, and the wired computer connected to the DIR-655 had been off.
D-Link DAP-1522 :: Time Not Setting Correctly On DAP-1533?
Jan 19, 2013This appears to be a different issue than the one described in the sticky above. I have two DAP-1533's. Both are running firmware 1.02 from the Taiwan website. I am running both in Bridge mode at 5 GHz only. They both exhibit the same problem. If you go to "Maintanence > Time and enable NTP it never updates to the correct time. Also, after "saving" the time gets set to the same time as shown grayed out in the "Set the time manually" window. I am using this time server: ntp1.dlink.com and tried others and have tried time server ip address in case it was a DNS issue. Also, why is there no DAP-1533 section on the forum?

Our wireless devices will see the connection but we are unable to connect.We only have one device that uses the 5.0 and multiple devices that use the 2.4 and none of them can connect.I am currently running firmware 2.02. I also notice that the time changes and I have to reset the time/date.I have tried rebooting the device, resetting the router, changing the network key, updated the time/date, renewed the DHCP...I don't know why it keeps going down, why the time/date keeps changing, and why I cannot get the 2.4 working.

Aug 30, 2011I'm new to networking (at least at this level) and need some guidance. First, I have an Actiontec MI424WR (Rev. F) Coax Verizon Fios modem that I use as my home networking wireless router. From a LAN port on that I've connected a cable to the WAN port on my DIR-655 which acts as my gigabit office hard wire/wireless router. I need to keep the home network and the office network separate.All of my computers are Windows, either 7, Vista or XP.Connected to my Dir-655 on the office network are 2 wireless computers, a printer, an IOMEGA 1TB Home Personal Cloud NAS HDD, plus 2 desktop computers.The DIR-655 is set with a static IP address matching the range of the Actiontec. The DIR-655 is set for DHCP for the devices on the network (although 2 of the computers have static IP address).
When the DIR-655 had a Dynamic IP address set by the Actiontec, the IOMEGA NAS HDD kept losing connection with all the devices on the network. Only after I set the DIR-655 to static IP did that stop and everybody started to play nice. I'm not sure why that would make a difference, but it did.But regardless of whether it is set to dynamic or static, no computer on the network or program, even third party programs, can connect to ANY of the time servers out there... and I mean any of them. I've tried at least 20 or more of the standard and not so standard ones. The DIR-655's time is off, and it is set to get time automatically. None of my computers, or my IOMEGA NAS, can access time. The Actiontec, though, seems to be set correctly.Everything connects to the internet just fine. Web, email, auto product upgrades. Fine. So far it's just the time server thing which troubles.I done everything I know how to do to enable Port Forwarding through both routers for NTP > UDP 123 since that is the standard port for the Network Time Protocol, but I could have easily screwed that up.
D-Link DIR-825 :: Using NTP Server But Time Not Correct After Power-cycle?
Nov 27, 2011I have access controls setup on my DIR-825 which work fine until there is a power outage and my router comes back up.I am using Automatic Time Configuration and have the NTP server set to ntp1 [URL]When the router comes back up I checked to make sure the NTP server option is still enabled, and it is, however the current time is totally wrong.To fix this I had to go to the pull-down, select 'ntp1.dlink.com' and then save the settings. After this the time is correct again.This is as bad as not having the Automatic Time Configuration option at all, since I can't guarantee that the power won't go out. I do not have a UPS hooked up to back up the router, nor do I see why I should need one if the Automatic Time Configuration actually worked.know if there is a way of making the Automatic Time Configuration reliable so the time on my router is automatically corrected when the power comes back up?

D-Link DIR-655 :: IPhone 5 Won't Auto Connect / Have To Enter Password Each Time
Apr 14, 2013I set up a DIR-655 router for a friend 4 years ago and it's worked reliably with all of their equipment since. They have wireless printers, iMacs, pc laptops and iPhone 4S's, all connecting without any problems. Recently, they got an iPhone5 and it will not connect to their home wireless automatically, they have to re-enter the password each time. They've tested their iPhone 5 on other networks and they do not have to re-enter the password. Apple and ATT are blaming the router. I do not live near them and I'm going to have to facilitate them remotely. At this point, I believe their router is configured with WPA2, but I can't be sure. Which configuration will work with the iPhone 5, as well as their other, older, devices that have worked for 4 years

I use this router to replace the FO rooter that my ISP provides with the service as it's too limited (no NAT name translation, closes NAT, no uPnP etc...)
So the WR841ND acts as my main router, DHCP server, WiFi AP for all my network. My problem is that once in a while ( every 1 or 2 days) the wireless loses functionality, I still can see it from my devices, but can't connect, even fixing the IP (apparently not a DHCP issue then). The only way to fix this is to shut down the router 10 sec and restart it.
This brings another issue, I have another router (WR741) in WDS dispatching the signal to another part of the house to wired devices (Xbox , wd tv live hub) and it loses the WDS link, again the only way for this router to recover it is to restart it which is annoying.

I connect to a internet through another router on which I setup D-Link on DMZ with port forwarding. Router works fine, I have internet connection. So the question is: I have small cafe and want to offer customers WiFi connection. I want to setup a time limit and allow them to browse only internet not internal network. (When I connect laptop to D-Link Wifi I can see my NAS on different subnet connected to cable modem/router) And if its possible to limit bandwidth. Can I do it with DIR-615 and how to configure such a setup?
