Dec 23, 2011I accidently disconnected my wireless adapter, how do i reconnect.

View 1 RepliesI have a Linksys wireless WMP600n PCi adapter installed in my desktop PC and after recovering from standby, it does not automatically reconnect. I have to right-click on the Wireless Networks icon in the system tray then select "Repair". I would say it does this 9 times out of 10 (1 time in 10 I seem to luck out and it restores the connection automatically).
I have an Asus M4A88TD-M motherboard with 1 Gb of DDR3 RAM and I am running Windows XP Home Edition (SP3). There is only one PCi slot on this motherboard. Also, I am not using the wireless network software that shipped with the product but rather the native wireless networks application software that shipped with Windows XP. I have had this problem with the original driver that shipped with the product CD and the problem persists with the latest driver. I have not enabled Hibernation and there are no active power saving modes on the PC.I have reviewed all of the options in the Wireless 600n Properties/Advanced tab and have enabled the Continuously Awake Mode and disabled the Power Saving Mode but the problem persists.
I have two other PCs with the older Linksys wireless WMP300n PCi adapters and they do not exhibit this behaviour after recovering from standby - they reliably reconnect.
The LAN adapter is disconnected since I'm not using it lmao. I meant the wifi adapter. So I bought this new laptop, ASUS G46vw but since yesterday I can't connect to the wifi. It connects but it shows as "Limited Connection - No Internet Access". I already went to the wireless adapter power proprieties - Power Management and unchecked the "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" option. But I still get no internet access. View 1 Replies View RelatedSo earlier today I purchased a new video card, a PNY Nvidia Gtx 560. After installing the drivers through the disc, I ended up getting he BSOD, and my PC just kept on restarting automatically. I fixed that problem, and found out that I should install the drivers for it through their website instead. So, after restarting my PC yet again, I tried using the Internet (Chrome) and found out that I have no Internet connection. Now, I am writing this on my iPad using the same router and modem that my PC is supposed to be using, but I keep on checking my WLAN adapter and it says that it is Not Connected. Now I have tried every forum, every post, EVERYTHING related to this problem and not a single thing fixes it. Also, when I do the ipconfig, everything says Media Disconnected and that's it. PS, I tried unplugging/plugging back in my modem and router PPS, Is it possible that when installing my new gcard and psu that I may have messed up with something internally?

Most if not all drivers are up to date.I recently have come home from college where the computer connected to the internet through a cable and i now have to use wireless.I went out and bought a Trendnet TEW-648UB Wireless n adapter, installed it and tried to connect to my home network. It has been going from acquiring network address to no connection every ten seconds then repeating. I am fairly sure that this is not the router because i am on my sisters desktop which is a wireless connection and im on the internet. so far i have:
checked to make sure that WZC is enabled, it is.
tried checking and unchecking the Use Windows to to configure my wireless network settings
enabling and disabling my adapter
reinstalling my adapter
repairing connection
disabling any and all firewalls
ipconfig /release
ipoconfig /renew
netsh int ip reset reset.log
netsh winsock reset catalog
lots of computer restarting
and for good measure i pinged 192.168.4.1 and ping 24.229.54.212 not sure why but kinda frustrated so why not

I'm trying to create an Ad-hoc network for use with my Android phone, however the phone does not discover the network.I've browsed various forums and tried a few things, but with no success. My laptop is able to detect other wireless networks. Wired Ethernet connection works fine.ipconfig /all results are below. The broadcom wireless LAN adapter shows Media Disconnected.I'm running Norton Internet Security and HP Wireless Assistant.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe problem is basically that my home wifi runs from a router that renews its IP adress every hour or so, and I keep getting disconnected from the Internet for 15 mins. or so every single time and then again not always; sometimes a page fails to load and then the connection is re-established a moment afterwards - it's very random.
The odd thing is that while my desktop Pc gets disconnected for long peiods of time my PS3, phone and laptop all seem to be able to reconnect during other periods of time where the desktop is unable. Also my parents and sister seem to be disturbed in different intervals. This makes me think that besides the annoying short disconnection on every device, my wifi adapter might cause the desktop additional problems reconnecting.
I'm using a Netgear WG111 v3 adapter. I should probably note that when I was running Windows 7 it already gave me trouble installing drivers and I had to run compatibility mode for Vista, and now with Windows 8 Pro 64-bit I had even more trouble, installer crashing and me having to manually go to the Device Manager and search for the install data for the driver. It's only been causing me problems since I bought it and though it works as I write this there is no way for me to know if it goes offline again or not in the next second.
I've recently reformatted my Pc and that didn't change a thing in this context and I've also been in contact with my Internet provider (the largest of such in Denmark, where I live), and they are the ones that told me that the router needs to reaquire a new IP every now and then for security reasons.
When I connected to the Internet by using WiFi, my laptop will suddenly disconnected. Sometimes it works to fix it with troubleshooter but sometimes I have to restart my laptop again and again. The troubleshooter mentioned it can be driver/network adapter problem but how to stop DC. I sent my laptop to the service center, they said this is not about my network adapter problem and asked me to reformat my laptop and check whether this issue can be solved or not.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy wireless network consists mainly of approximately 1400 AP's 900 x 3602's, 500 x 3502's,The majority of these AP's especially the new ones have been manually optimised for channel and power settings. We paid an external surveyor to survey and optimise the AP's.
We have a few 5505 WLC's and the channel assignment method is set to "Freeze" ,My question is, if someone invokes a channel update on a WLC, will the WLC override the original manual channel setting if the WLC thinks it should be changed? And will the original setting be lost forever unless a restore is performed from the WLC Database?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWe have a 2504 Wireless Controller and it works great! We currently have 6 Access Points (Aironet 1252) connected. We just added the sixth one a few weeks ago and with a properly configured and fully functioning Wireless Controller, it was super easy. Now, I have been assigned to add another Access Point, but at a remote site. The plan is to have up to three or more APs at this remote location and we want them to talk back to the Wireless Controller. We have plenty of licences on our current Wireless Controller.Do do not want to spend the funds for another Wireless Controller and more licenses.
1. How does one manually add a Aironet 1252 to the 2504 Wireless Controller
2. If the AP is on a different subnet than the Wireless Controller, how does one get it registered?
3. The best for last: Can a Aironet 1252 talk to a 2504 Wireless Controller over a WAN link?

I am having a rather annoying problem. I run a small hotel (just 3 floors) and my modem gives a strong enough signal to provide wireless access to everybody in the house however I'm finding that a lot of people, whilst they can connect to the modem, cannot browse online. Connection just times out when they open their browsers.Recently a guest gave me his laptop and asked me if I could do anything with it. I'm by no means an expert when it comes to this kind of thing so I chanced my arm by putting his MAC address into the CP's Wireless/MAC Filter page. He connected immediately and was able to go online much to my relief.
Thing is, I don't want to have to do this for every guest that comes through my door! Is there any way everybody who has a laptop can connect without me manually entering their MAC addresses? MAC restrict mode is set to 'disabled' but I thought that would allow everybody unrestricted access?
i have a problem with our new 5508 wireless controller (7.0.116.0).
Port 1 is the system default "management" (Port 2 is backup). Dynamic AP Management is disabled. Port 3 is a new dynamic interface "ap-manager 2" with Dynamic AP Management enabled and has a ip in a seperated VLAN which is not routed.
When i am connecting the AP (1260 series) to the "ap-manager 2" interface, then it will not join and i get an error message on the WLC:
*spamApTask1: Mar 05 14:52:12.783: %CAPWAP- -DISC_INTF_ERR1:capwap_ac_sm.c:1453 Ignoring discovery request received on non-managementinterface (3) from AP
When i am connecting the AP to the "management2 interface, then it is working fine. But i don't want the APs in the Management LAN. I want them in the separated no routed LAN explicit for the APs.
I used to have ATT DSL but we recently switched to U-Verse. I have a Trendnet TEW-452BRP 54g wireless router than was handling the PPPoE function. It was set to work flawlessly with my wireless cards. No dropped connections, speed or security issues. It always connected quickly from wake up and on start up. Now we have a 2Wire i38HG wireless router/gateway and it's been difficult to properly set my network up as before. I use the Trendnet behind the 2Wire as my wireless router. Took me a while to figure out what to do, but DHCP is disabled on Trendnet so 2Wire does what it needs to. This option works fine for me. The only problem is that at first my wireless card would not automatically connect to the network through the Trendnet when it is in range like I had it set to do previously. When I would force it to, after 3 times it would magically connect on it's own. I made some changes in the Trendnet (Mainly disabling dynamic DNS and NAT) and that seems to have made a difference. To be honest, I don't know if that is significant or not or if it actually made a longterm difference but it seems like it has. So my problem is now that when I put my laptop to sleep and have it wake up, it does not automatically reconnect. It takes about 2 minutes then it does on its own. I read the event viewer and this is the info it gave me - Your computer was not able to renew its address from the network (from the DHCP Server) for the Network Card with network address 0x0018DE0682D8. The following error occurred: 0x79. Your computer will continue to try and obtain an address on its own from the network address (DHCP) server.

Then after 2 minutes -

After this, it connects by itself. I don't believe I have configured the 2Wire or Trendnet properly, so I need some guidance and suggestions on this matter.

I have a Belkin 690, model# F9K1002V4 that's been working great until I had to turn off and disconnect some things in order to replace my old tv stand. After I straightened out the mess of wires from everything and made sure all the connections were good all the other components including my satellite modem were working fine, but the wireless router won't reconnect. It's working fine with a cable but won't work wireless even though the blue indicator shows the actual router to be working okay. I've repeatedly reset/re-powered the router to no avail. Firmware is up to date.
View 1 Replies View RelatedEvery two or three days I'm unable to reconnect to my wifi network when I turn on my Windows 7 laptop or Android tablet. I have to power cycle the wifi router to get the connection again. This usually happens after I haven't used either device for a day or two. The connection usually does not drop when I'm using them. Restarting the computer or the tablet does not work and using the Windows troubleshooter (or the android app for wifi issues on the tablet) also doesn't work. Both computer and tablet recognize the network and say the signal is strong but won’t connect to it. There are no physical obstructions. I have no problem with my internet connection (cable modem). The problem really seems to be with the wifi router.

I have a WLC 5508 in my datacenter, and 1142s configured with FlexConnect at a remote site. Two issues:Some APs 'die' from time to time where I cannot ping them anymore and they do not service any clients. I can reset them from the WLC after which they work again. I have some clients in the building (same area) who lose connectivity from time to time and are unable to reconnect to the wireless. I am seeing errors that the gateway cannot be found or there is not a valid IP. restarting the AP closest to the clients fixes the issue. I have replaced the AP and connected to a different port on the switch.
