View 1 Replies View RelatedMy internal network consists of Catalyst 3750 switches segmented into different VLANs. There is a default route on the layer 3 Catalyst switch sending all unknown traffice to the inside Internet of the ASA 5510. However, I'd like to have a separate VLAN for wifi guest access and send all of that traffic through one of the DMZ interfaces on the ASA 5510. I don't think you can have separate default routes based on VLANs on the 3750 switches so my only option is to make the ip address of the DMZ port the default gateway for all hosts on the wifi guest VLAN.
The problem I have is that I have a couple servers behind the inside interface that have services available to the public Internet via a NAT address on the outside interface. I want the guests on the wifi VLAN to have the ability to access the servers on the inside interface using the public address as well, but have not been able to come up with a solution yet.
Here is my config that pertains to this setup:

ERROR: Capture doesn't support access-list <capin> containing mixed policies
I also created a capture for the outside interface with a similar ACL and it worked just fine. I can't seem to find anything on the web that gives me a clue to resolving the error above.
I have 2 desktops and a laptop accessing a wireless Motorola modem using roadrunner broadband. My desktop/Vista and laptop/Windows 7 are working fine. My older desktop with XP has a wireless card and shows that the wireless is connected with great signal strength but won't access Internet Explorer. I keep getting an error message. I'm working on a small network (1 server, 6 workstations, stand-alone, not connected to the main Company Network) "reinstalling" a Workstation. Re-imaging from semi-generic Norton Ghost image (4 of the 6 Workstations run the same programs with different addresses). I then had to reset the IP, the Computer Name, and then the Domain (I did it in that order).
I'm using Windows Server 2003 as the domain controller, and the Workstation is Xp Pro Sp 2.
The Workstation is using the same IP, Name, User as before, and they were working with the server previously (a program had corrupted prompting the reinstall).
The problem is that if I open windows explorer and type in the Workstations IP (\000.00.0.1) I get access to the computer. But if I go there and type in the Workstations Name (\Computer01) I get a "you may not have permission to use this network resource" error.
If I go to the work station, and try the same thing except with the Server's IP (\000.00.0.100) and Name (\Server01) I get access.
This Workstation controls an I/O device that is used by a program running on the server (most of the time, not while I'm doing the install of course) and the program uses the Workstation's Computer Name to access it.
As far as I can tell all the settings on this Workstation match the 3 that are running the same programs, but I could have missed something.
I'm a bit stumped by this, I don't normally deal with the Server side of the computers. I usually just set up the workstations to whatever Name/IP the Net-admins give me. But my bosses put me in charge of this little network, mainly because the Net-admins din't want to deal with it.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm running a system that requires a third (and potentially fourth) DHCP server to be setup on each network in my network. The first two devices are Windows DHCP servers serving IPs from different address ranges for failover. The third DHCP is just a listener to receive OS information and device names to be logged in a database.
Currently this works like a charm for my wired clients as I can add in the third and fourth ip helper-address on each vlan and the information is received by the listeners. However, I cannot find anywhere in my WLC5500 to setup these extra two DHCP helper addresses.
The wireless vlan on my layer 3 switch has all the ip helper-addresses, but this doesn't seem to work, and the devices just use the DHCP servers set on the interface in the WLC.
I have set up access restriction times for my son (we have wireless access for all systems). I use the MAC address on his systems. Xbox, Kindle Fire and his Laptop. The MAC address are Correct. Here is the problem:
I set the "allow" and times from 6pm - 11:00 pm (while on xmas vacation) - the system works for a while he is shut off as i would like but....
After a period of time the entire house goes off line. I have to reboot the power on e2000 router and then disable the access restrictions. System then works. Problem is repeatable. What is the deal. I have updated firmware already. Otherwise the system works great. Never dies. Just when i set access restricions for a SPECIFIC time it kills entiore houese. System was running fine untill about two days ago. File and print sharing stop working. went to services and tried to restart "Computer Browser". It would not start due to a dependancy. Tried to start "Server Services" Got the following error. "Can not start Server Service on local computer, Error 2:The system cannot find the filed specified". The files srvsvc.dll 95KB 4/14/2008 The file srv.sys 327KB 4/14/2008.If I delete either of these files they are just created again. If I replace them with the new versions they are converted back to these files.I am running XP Pro SP3.
