I have the router configured for remote admin from the web outside the network however I cannot establish a connection with the router.Other than adding the check mark and selecting a port are there any other considerations for remote admin?

I am facing some issue in LAN network.I have connected one desktop( win 7) and another desktop (win xp) to the TP link router. Both the computers got ip address and able to share the internet. But both the computers are not in the same network. That is they cant PING each other. hence they are not visible to each other.

my config : one DAP-1522 as an AP + one DAP-1522 as a switch, 6 meters between them, signal strength about 70. Any others wifi networks around my house. both with FW140b03.bin dated 01/14/2011.Most of the time, both work correctly. But time to time, the wifi link is ko. In AP status, the switch is mentionned connected (uptime = 3 hours ...). The red led is blinking on the switch. The administration web of the switch is not available and the link is ko. Unplug and plug power units doesn't fix the problem. I need to reset DAPs.From Dlink experts, i would like to get more description about issues :
- in switch mode, which are the events modifying the red led state ? what does blinking / off led mean ?
- in AP mode, what does "uptime ...STA ...." mean ? frames are periodically received from STA ?
I have two computers side by side 192.168.1.7 and 192.168.1.8 both running xp pro sp3. On 8 I can RDC to the 7, but on 7 I cannot RDC to 8. I can see port 3389 listening on both using netstat -a. But 7 just can't RDC connect to 8. 7 cannot ping 8 either. I have the firewall turned off on 8, I had tried allowing RDC 3389 earlier with the firewall but that didn't work either.I don't have any extra firewalls running.Life will be like perfect, if I can just RDC to 8.Both are on the same wired belkin wireless router, 4' from itl.I tried taking the no ping no rdc computer to work and it didn't work there either.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having issue with network connectivity between remote access (RA) VPN users and remote site VPN hosts.
Topology is:
RA VPN laptop (192.168.200.3 /24) ---- internet ---- Head Office (ASA5505) -- LAN subnet 10.0.0.0 /24
SiteB (10.0.10.0 /24) ---- internet ----- Head Office (ASA5505) ---- LAN subnet 10.0.0.0 /24
From head office there is no issue communicating with RA VPN and siteB hosts but Site B hosts and RA VPN users can not communicate each other totally (ping failed too).
Site B is using Cisco 867 router with IPSEC VPN to the ASA5505 at head office. I have added the ACL on this router to access 192.168.200.x /24 for VPN traffic and exempt from NATing. When I enabled ' drop log' in the class-map in the Zone based firewall config, I could not see any ping packt comes in so I believe the issue is at ASA5505 config.
At ASA5505 I use split VPN tunnel ACL and have included the subnet for 10.0.10.0/24 as well as 192.168.200.0 /24. This split tunnel ACL are applied to both the IPSec VPN tunnel and also the RA VPN group policy. The ASA is using sw version 151-4.M5.
While trying to connect to WiFi at remote sites APs, the connection is getting time out.User are getting error as 'Unable to connect to <WiFi-SSID>' The APs at corporate office are functioning properly and user are able to connect to the APs.

I'm trying to connect to my home laptop from work. The home laptop is connected to DIR-655 router. I set up the internal and external ports to 3389 using both TCP and UDP protocols with the Application as "Remote Desktop". From my work PC I enter the external IP with :3389 and it fails to connect. I have also tried accessing internally which is failing too. All computers are running Windows 7 Home Premium Remote Access is enable on all.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to set up a remote desktop connection to my home media server so I no longer need to keep a keyboard, mouse, and monitor plugged in to it when I need to use it. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium on both systems. I am sure the firewall is not the problem, as I have tried to connect with it disabled. I have also made sure to allow remote connections on the server. I know the DIR-825 supports UPnP, which works with Remote Desktop, so there should be no problem, but something is not working. I have tried disabling UPnP, setting up a virtual server, port forwarding, and assigning a permanant IP to the server, to no effect. Something is blocking my remote connection requests. Keep in mind, I am not even trying to do this over the internet, just over my LAN!

After I configure the WAN setting on TL-MR3020, my laptop unable to connect to my TL-MR3020 anymore, the message says "windows was unable to connect to TP-LINK_POCKET_3020_B5F9AD".
I have set up an access point as per the instructions I found on this site. It works perfectly, holds a wireless signal fine. Now, I have the challenge of trying to remote connect to the home computer that is connected to this access point. I have absolutely no clue as to what changes in settings have to be made.

My DIR-655 is setup and working fine with WPA personal encryption to different laptops in my home network. Question: Can I connect a wireless print server (LinkSys WPS54GU2) that only supports 'G' wireless encryption? Can the DIR-655 support a mixed N and G network?Do I have to reconfigure my DIR-655 to the slower WEP encryption and create an entirely 'G' network to include one G network device?

No matter what I do the xbox says it can't connect to the router, and in the router's wireless connections it shows my xbox's MAC address with an IP of 0.0.0.0.I installed my DIR 655 today and had no problems accessing the network with any of my computers, however, I am completely unable to connect my xbox to the network.

Unsure why this happens exactly, but every time the D-Link System restarts itself (and at on other random occurrences ever few hours), my D-Link DIR-655 becomes unable to re-connect to the internet. I can only assume it maintains a connection to the modem itself as the "globe" icon on the router becomes orange. No matter how long I wait, the router will not reconnect to the internet.
I am unsure where the problem lies either within the Router or the Modem, but it seems the other routers I own do not have this same problem. The odd thing is that the modem's "internet connection" light never goes out, and the "link" light remains on. The only solution seems to be restarting both the router and the modem, restarting just one won't do.

I recently purchased a DIR-815 D-Link router. I've set up my network successfully; my laptop and smart phone are easily able to connect. However my desktop is having issues. My network card detects the wireless network I have set up, however the password is always rejected. I am typing in the correct password. I can get the internet to work on my desktop if I connect the router directly by wire, but I need the wireless to work. My desktop runs Windows 7.

I checked my router's setting but I have no website filtering in place. Is there any other router setting which would cause one particular http address to always time out ? When I try to ping the web address it times out also, so it makes me think it is not the DNS server. Of course it could be my ISP, but why would a single web address time out always whereas my normal web surfing ?

I am trying to connect two D-link 24 port switches thru cat 6 cable, distance is less than 50 meters, but its not working but if i connecting it with a Laptop i am able to connect to the network. When I attempt to connect them to D-View Cam 3.11 they fail to connect or will not stay connected.I first tried connecting to the router with both cameras in the same room as the router. One will connect and stay connected but the other will connect and freeze or not connect at all. If I move th GOOD camera out of the room, it will not connect.Do I have a router issue? View 14 Replies View RelatedI recently tried resetting my router (dlink dir-655). I am able to connect using my iphone and my mbp if I did not make use of a secure connection. I tried putting a password on a new ssid. My ipad 2 and 2 other windows laptops are able to connect without any problem. My iphone 4s was having a hard time connecting to the new ssid. It does not connect automatically just in case I turn on and off my wifi connection for the iphone. I have to type in the wpa password whenever I had to go online again. FYI, I tried resetting my iphone several times and I still get the same response. As for my mac, it was far more much worse. Whenever I tried to connect to my router. It usually says connection time out. I tried resetting the router one more time again. I had to put in the old ssid and the old wpa password. My Iphone 4s was abe to connect automatically. My mbp did the same thing also.

For instance, I have a dyndns address of ericnewton76.dyndns.org. This points to my router. Works fine if you're NOT within the router's internal network, ie, outside hosts can get in just fine (try it... http:// , you'll see an IIS7 welcome screen)
However, when INSIDE the network, the requests don't get connected properly, and they used to... ie, I work with code, so my svn repo is at ericnewton76.dyndns.org/svn but inside my network it doesn't connect properly anymore (whereas it used to before firmware update)
So now I wish I could back-peddle to 1.0 firmware.

I am trying to install a HP officejet 6700 all-in-one wireless printer on my home network. I can see the MAC and static IP addresses in the ARP list but fail to connect to it via my laptop. I have disabled the Norton Internet Security smart firewall and the windows firewall and still fail to connect. I have spent 2 four hour chat sessions with HP and they tell me it is my router. They had me change the channel to 6 from 5 and 11g-only from the 11gb-mixed and it still does not connect. They also had me do a firmware upgrade but the Printer was up to date.
I reset my Dlink 615 wireless router. I held down the power and reset for 30 seconds and rebooting the system with the disc. I did change the router name, but believe everything else stayed the same. My desk top is working fine being "hardwired" but nothing wireless will connect.
I did see this time it installed Network Magic which I have since uninstalled and again rebooted the computer system and still cannot get the wireless to work. It shows the network available, but my password for some reason does not take.
I just bought a refurbished WRT160NL router. The router is working fine, but when i tried connecting my Extrernal hdd it is not detecting.
