My Sony internet TV is connected to my (DIR-655) wireless LAN. It is listed on the Status Page and I can identify it by IP address and/or MAC address. The Name field, however is blank. How can I change it so that it is more clearly indicated as my TV connection?
View 4 RepliesI haven't found a way to rename the Guest account on my E3000 router. If my router is named HomeRouter the Guest account automatically gets the name HomeRouter-guest. I have disabled the router's SSID broadcast, but it still broadcasts the almost identical Guest account.

Is there some kind of setting on her computer that could be disconnecting us? When my dad is on his I never disconnect which is why I am wondering it must be something on her computer that's interfering with the signal or something. If I reset the router while she's still on, It will disconnect again within a few minutes. So where can I check if it could be her computer that's interfering with the signal?

The CEO wants all current emails changed to fall in with the proposed change as well as changing the school domain. Currently the system works fine as it is and I am of the opinion that changing the internal domain name space will have no effect whatsoever on people outside of the organisation. If there is no need to change things, then possibly re-directing emails internally would mean minimum fuss to daily operations within the school. Has anybody found themselves in a similar position and what was the outcome?

View 11 Replies View RelatedSo i have the Dir-615 and two laptops. Both laptops have windows 7, one with 32 bit and the other with 64 bit. I have had my network setup for months. The 32 bit laptop and my 360 are on the network; the 360 is on a wired connection. I recently purchased the 64 bit laptop and am having problems getting it to connect to the Internet. If I hard wire it in through the modem it will connect. If I try to connect to an unsecured network in my area, I can connect. But for some reason I'm unable to connect through my router. Weather I try and connect wireless or through a cable on the ports on the back. If I try and run the network connection wizard it won't fix the problem. I've tried to unplug the router, reconnect and nothing works. The weird part is that i can connect to the router, but can't access either the settings for the router or the Internet. The graphic that is shown in the network setup wizard shows my router but then shows an X in between the router and the Internet. I have tried everything that I can think of.

My wifi is working with no problem but when I hook up my computer to 1 of the 4 Lan ports I can't seem to connect to the internet I can however log in my router no problem. Now, I get intermittent connectivity loss: "No internet access." I typically just right click and troubleshoot. The problem is solved and I get the following message: "Problem with wireless adapter or access point." Once fixed, things go on well for a random time (never more then a day). Then, however, they just fall apart.

The router seems to be working fine - I have a LAN connection through it to this computer I'm on now and the PS3 hooked up to the wireless signal just fine. It is the one desktop computer though. The only thing I can think of is that I am using an old g adapter. I didn't think this would matter because the N router can supposedly communicate with g and b devices.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm desperately trying to set up my old D-Link DI-524 on my parent's Toshiba laptop...I'm visiting and going thru withdrawals! I've installed it, run the wizard etc but it doesn't work...not even wired. I've tried various cable configurations and I get nothing. Both cables are good and work just fine connected to the modem. I've reset it a few times, upgraded the firmware and still nothing...I'd think I'd at least get it to work hard wired. My laptop can see the network I set up even...but no data transmission. I'm not a wireless expert, but I need to become one fast!

I get this new router TL-WR841N from amazon.com, I get no signal/internet connection on my computer when I install/connect the router using the installation min CD (same procedure at listed here: url...The DSL connection is good, since I get internet connection when I connect my modem directly (without the router) to my computer. Ever since upgrading my firmware from 120426 to the latest(121225), one of my computer(windows xp, TP-link Nano) is frequently losing internet connectivity.I purchased the router a month ago and firmware 120426 was the version that came installed. The router would stop working about 3-4 times a week, requiring me to reboot it. Because of this I did some research online and found out about version 121225 which supposedly should improve performance and stability. After the firmware upgrade today I noticed that one of my computer is having a lot of trouble maintaining internet connectivity for more than 30 minutes. When checking wireless connectivity it would say that I am connected and that the signal strength is excellent. I'm also able to ping 8.8.8.8 but not www.google.com(I've tried ipconfig /flushdns and it doesn't solve the problem). I also have trouble accessing or pinging the router(192.168.0.1) with this computer.
There is already a laptop running wirelessly through the D Link DIR 615. I want to add another to the network and cannot. What do I need to do to pick up the wireless network already running?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am with Virgin media (UK) and have the 20mbps fiber optic connection. My area has recently been having problems with the broadband and Virgin has recently fixed these problems. However I used to get around 19mbps now that the problem is fixed my computer which is wired to the router gets about 0.4mbps downstream... However the 5 wireless computers all get 16mbps which is pretty good for them. Windows tells me that its a firewall issue and I currently can't use two programs, spotify and steam. They both have firewall issues, even if I turn off my firewall which is the windows one. I also have avast, and when I turn that off, still no good. I used OpenDNS, stopped using that flushed my DNS, that didnt work. I tried to optimize my computer settings, by changing various values in Regedit.All of this has done nothing. I should add that I have recently re-installed Windows 7 so on this fresh install it has never had decent internet speed. Which I thought was weird.. I have basically had these problems since the fresh install. All of my drivers are up to date.

It always worked great in the past, but when I tried it today I can only find a connection on this computer (garbage computer), the other 2 computers in my network can't connect to the internet, they can't even connect to the network at all. Oh and the router I'm using is a D-Link DIR-100. This computer is running windows XP, so is another one in the network and the one I want the connection to work on is running windows 7.

I called tech support and he said that my motherboard must not be compatible with the card. I don't think this is the case but it was the only advice he could give me. I have an MSI P67A-G45 board. I removed all drivers from my previous card before installing the DWA 556 because I heard they can clash with each other.
I have a DIR-615 router that I can not see the characters that you have to type just a read X on login screen on any computer running IE9 even the emulator on the dlink site shows this problem.
