Now that WPS has been cracked (you can get "reaver" on the internet to run on your Linux laptop or VM), it has been found that several routers that have WPS disable/enable controls in their web GUI's are still vulnerable to attack.Has anyone verified whether or not that's the case with the DIR-655? I was feeling pretty good about my router until I read that some routers are still vulnerable to this attack even with WPS disabled in their web controls. It would be nice to get confirmation for this router on whether I need to stop using it (no open source firmware available that I know of).
I have a DCS-930L network camera that I configured from its Web-based interface. In SETUP | Network Setup, I have disabled both UPnP and UPnP Port Forwarding. In my router's (Netgear WNDR3700) settings, I reserved the local IP address, 192.168.1.80, for the DCS-930L. In the DCS-930L I assigned the network camera HTTP Port 8000; therefore, I can access the DCS-930L on the LAN from [url].... In addition, in the router, I have forwarded port 8000 to the local IP address, 192.168.1.80, so I can access the DCS-930L from outside the LAN.I can access the DCS-930L both from within the LAN and outside of the LAN.
However, even though UPnP and UPnP Port Forwarding in the DCS-930L are disabled, the DCS-930L keeps adding and deleting UPnP NAT rules in the router. In addition, a system at the IP address, 207.232.83.172, keeps attempting to access the DCS-930L from different ports. I traced the IP address, 207.232.83.172, to the ISP, Telekenex, in Los Angeles, California. A partial log from the router is below.[code]...
I recently changed my ssid name from the default "dlink" to a more unique one. The problem is that the router is still broadcasting the default ssid along with the new one. Guest zone is disabled and the new ssid is hidden. But the default ssid is not hidded. Using wpa2 with aes, hardware ver. A1/A2 Firmware ver 1.21. How to remove the "dlink" ssid?

I had a problem with this ADSL router - the VOIP outgoing calls did not work until I disabled SIP in telnet: ip nat service sip sw off.But the SIP is going to be enabled every time the router restart (or reset to default).

I recently tried to connect to my wireless broadband and the icon had disappeared. I went into control panel and wlan assistant and tried to enable the wireless.A message comes up saying it is trying to install software for Broadcom 802.11b/g WLAN.I run through the process but then when I try and get on to network controller I get the message there was a problem installing this hardware. It says This Device is disabled (code 22)
"Your WLAN is turned off or disabled. Follow the instructions in HP Wireless Assistance to turn on or enable the WLAN before continuing".I have a HP Pavilion tx1000 and no wireless network is working only LAN connection which i never use this before with my computer.
I have tried everything! My wifi disabled itself some how, i have a toshiba satellite and the fn f8 button is no longer there to turn my wifi on and off. I tried reinstalling the driver it didnt work. Its up to date. I also tried to restore my computer back to the last time it worked and that didn't work. I tried starting it in safe mode with networking and that didn't work. I can connect to the internet but through a wire.
I seem to be having the same media disabled message in Vista. How do I proceed with this type of refresher in Vista? Out of the blue, no networks can be detected on this particular laptop. I have tried uninstalling the HP WLAN program so far.
About 5 days ago the computer crashed. I was able to reload Windows XP and load all the drivers and hardware. The only problem is, now the WLAN is saying that it is disabled and I am unable to enable it. The stupid thing about this is, when the computer crashed, the next day i was able to get on. The WLAN was working just fine and so I decided to go ahead and load windows anyways because it has been having issues. Every since I did that, the WLAN has been disabled.
I have a westell DSL modem/router supplied by Frontier. It connects only to the telephone line and via cat5 to my main router, a cisco EA6500. Everything seems to be working fine, I just would like to understand a few things.I disabled wireless radio on the westell, enabled it on the cisco, so I have just one WIFI network active.I know I am not supposed to have two DHCP servers active, but I did not know how else to be sure the CISCO would get a good address, so I left DHCP active on the WESTELL, and also enabled it on the CISCO to provide service for the rest of the net.The WESTELL admin interface is at 192.168.1.1, and assigns addresses in this range.According to the WESTELL, the CISCO is at 192.168.1.27, which I assume was assigned by DHCP.The CISCO has an admin interface at 10.144.224.224, and assigns addresses in this range to all the other devices on my net.As I say, everything works.I can access both router admin pages with a browser on my main 10.144.224 network, and can ping both. But I don't understand why it works. What rules allow me to talk to the WESTELL admin page from the CISCO private network, but do NOT propagate the DHCP access which is at the exact same IP address.
It is great that it works. But should I really have disabled DHCP on the WESTELL and assigned a static address to the CISCO? Or is this situation actually provided for in the rules, not just a lucky accident that it works? Why does the scanner say that the CISCO DHCP is "Unknown" rather than Authorized or Unauthorized? Is there something I can or should do to get it to be "Authorized"? I can ping 192.168.1.1, but not the 192.168.1.27 (times out), and yet when I ping a non-existent 192.169.1.3 I get "Reply from 192.168.1.27: Destination host unreachable".
Iam unable to share my internet connection.I am unable to use it on a router even. When i connect it to my laptops Ethernet port its working fine. But when i connect it via router its just showing internet access but i m unable to open any pages.
I kinda accidentally disabled our internet network and I can't find a way to reconnect it with our adapter. I tried to troubleshoot it and also search for our device, and nothing seems to work.
LAN connection gets disabled by itself on idle. Sometimes BSODs.A few days ago I tried connecting a MBlaze modem to my laptop (Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit) to access internet. But it resulted in instant BSOD everytime.I deleted the modem software after that & didn't try to connect it again. But now, whenever I connect using my LAN broadband, connection works fine as long as I am continuously browsing something. But as soon as I stop browsing and it goes in idle mode in about 10-15 minutes, the connection gets disconnected. In the adapter properties, it shows that the driver is working properly. If I try to disable or uninstall it it doesn't give a response. The only solution to this is a forced shutdown & restart, after which it works fine untill not idle. I am not able to download anything because of this.I tried many things like reinstalling the network adapter driver, unchecking the power management feature, resetting the connection, etc. but nothing is working.
my laptop can't connect to a wireless network, so I have to keep it in one room connected to the modem. When I unplug it, even with the wireless switch on, it loses the connection. When I use ConfigFree, it says the wireless network device is disabled. I went to device manager and updated the driver for the network adapter, and it still said it was disabled. What should I do now?
problem is my brother has been playing with its config page. he changed the IP Address of the modem and disabled DHCP. he forgot what IP Address he inputted on the config page. I tried resetting the router with the small button on its side. Nothing happens. all the lights blink when i pushed the reset button for 10 sec. but nothing happens. i still can't access its default IP which is 192.168.1.1 IS there anyway to determine its IP Address even if DHCP is disabled ?
I have a fresh install of LMS 4.0 on Windows Server 2008 Standart SP2. I have one NIC with static IP configuration. I also disabled DHCP client. The problem is follows: when I go to Inventory - Device Administration - Add/Import/Manage Devices, I always get this error:Error in communicating with DCR Server. DCR Server may be down. Please start the DCR Server and then refresh the page.Reload server/ Daemon Manager dont solve this.I try to beat this problem 2 days already. Second uninstall also doesnt solve the problem..
About a week ago I tried to clear log files which was 270gb (syslog.log) and after that restarted the server. And all inventory devices suddenly disappear! I could find it from search menu but cant access - cisco works said that there is no such a device in Device Repository or I havent enough right to view it (but i logged as admin). And after this i failed to add any device in Inventory. So I reinstall Cisco Works and get that DCR error..
We have a PBR configured on a 2911 router (15.1-4.M2). The PBR is being used to send specific traffic across a S2S VPN instead of an MPLS connection. If ip cef is enabled, the router sends the traffic across the MPLS. If ip cef is disabled, the traffic goes across the S2S VPN. I checked to see if there were any bugs in the code they are running about this and nothing came up. It almost like CEF enabled PBR isn't working on this device, even though it should be enabled by default when ip cef is turned on.
I've been trying to disect this problem for a few months to no avail. The router allows me to connect to outside FTP only when IPS is enabled. The moment I disable the IPS functoin, the connection hangs and does not connect to a server. Reason I'd like to keep IPS disabled it is because it's eating up half of bandwith when enabled.RVS4000
I have acer laptop with xp and must do enable my lan card to open conection in devices manager.every reboot the lan conection is disabled.for information I delete a virus pum bad proxy with malwarebytes before I have a problem know ervery thing is ok without virus.

I have an RT73 USB Lan and in Device Manager it says the drivers are up to date and the device is enabled. However in Network Adapter Settings the status is Disabled. When I try to enable it Windows says Enabling.....then Enabled but nothing happens, it remains greyed out and disabled.
On my Toshiba A105, the wireless adapter (Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG) is disabled. When I ask it to be Enabled, it goes through the motions but then immediately disables it again.
I have a windows 7 laptop and when I connect it the a wired connection it disables the wireless & 3G connections, but when I unplug the cable it doesn't renable the connections, I have to go into the network connections and select each one and renable it again.
I have an ASUS G71gx laptop with Windows Vista 64 bit. I noticed upon start up my wireless connection would not automatically connect. I hit diagnose and repair, and it stated that I did not have wireless connectivity turned on. I tried flipping the wireless switch on and off a few times to no avail. When I would turn it on and off, the blue LED light was OFF. Also, each time I switched it on and off, it said on the screen that the wireless LAN adapter was OFF (even if the switch was turned on). Then, I restarted the windows explorer bar a few times as well as flip the switch again. This time, the blue LED turned ON. However, the internet was still turned off. I hit diagnose and repair again and it said the same thing as previously stated. It gave me the option to repair it by turning on wireless compatibility/connectivity, so I hit that. After that it turned on and I could use it with no problem.
