View 1 Replies View RelatedI got a new Tenda W311R+ Wireless-N Broadband Router yesterday. I already have a wired broadband internet connection in my home with a Beetel 110TC1 modem. I did following:
1. Connected the Beetel modem to the Tenda router using an Ethernet cable
2. Connected the Tenda router to my PC using another Ethernet cable.
3. Went to 192.168.0.1 (as mentioned in the instructions sheet which came along with the router)
Now, what should I set as the access mode, ADSL Dial-up or DHCP? Are there any other settings I should change in order to enhance the speed? I have Windows XP SP3. Also, do I need my Beetel modem or can I use the router without it?
I bought this Tenda wifi router and connected it.It's a chinese one and the user interface is not much friendly. It works fine but sometimes if u play around with it u will lose the settings you inserted in to it and you will need to reconfigure it.
My problem is my ISP seems to renew the IP's issued to their customers automatically every 10 hrs from the last login. But every other router keeps the connection alive but my router doesn't. It needs to be restarted in order to get the internet back online.simply said,u need to restart the router every 10 hrs.
BTW Never buy Tenda routers.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI used to use a DSL modem/router supplied by Bell (my ISP) and it was a 2wire router, but the signal was not enough to supply my entire house, it was 802.11b/g.Now recently I bought a Tenda W307R, N router all-in-one with an AP.I just plugged it right into the 2wire (modem) and now the Tenda routes the wireless signal. However, I am experiencing that it slows down every few minutes or so, for 30 second intervals, then the internet catches on again and everything is good.

The connection works fine with the Tenda in place but when I put the Cisco in I get no connection and no answer for my PADI queries.I always get padi timer expired. I do not think it is even getting to the ppp authentication. [code]

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Tenda W300d modem/router that works fine sometimes, but others, like now, it's being a real pain and not connecting with some of my devices, I have a PC, laptop, PS3 and phones that mostly happily share connection, the PS3 is connected via cable.sometimes it just won't allow things to connect, I try rebooting it, sometimes it works, sometimes not.IS there something basic I'm missing? the control panel for it seems quite comprehensive, but I'm no expert at it.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am trying to setup my network in my home, so that I can extend the wireless signal from my main router by using an access point (a tenda w311r+).But, I want to do it so that the access point isn't connected to the main router with a cable, I want it to be connected to the main router wirelessly. It does say on the box that it can 'bridge' multiple wireless routers.
The access point I have also has 4 ethernet ports on it, so I will use one of these to plug my xbox 360 into.I also want the main router to be responsible for the DHCP.
I tried to set up Tenda W311R as a repeater to increase the coverage. I have done the following, but still it cannot get Internet access:Set up WDS with the same channel and use the same encryption as the Linksys router; Disable the DHCP in the W311R;From the wireless point of view, I can see the Tenda router, but no Internet access.

The led on the card doesn't light up indicating no power is making it to the card. I have tried installing the drivers off the cd but it says it won't as it cannot detect the card and I installed the drivers from their website but Windows still won't detect it. I have tried turning PCIpnp both on and off at the mobo but nothing seems to make a difference. Have they just sent me a duff card or could it be my mobo or something else?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a 5505 configured with a active/standby dual wan setup using the sla tracked connection settings. Is there a way to configure the ASA to stay on the backup connection after activating? We had a situation where the main T1 was bouncing, so the backup connection was being activated and deactivated very often. The problem is that there is an app being used that does not allow users to reconnect to dropped connections immediately, so every time the asa switches wan connections it causes a significant disruption.I should note that I already set monitor options frequency to 240 seconds. I could set it higher, but then we have a longer delay when the main connection dies.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just purchased and installed the RV180 at my office. One of my clients requires that I use Cisco VPN Client to connect to their systems. Before I installed the RV180, everything worked just fine. After I installed the RV180, the VPN client disconnects after 5 to 15 minutes, every time.
What firewall settings on the RV180 do I need to enable/disable so that the VPN Client can work w/o disconnecting?
The RV180 is the router at my office. The VPN Client is on my computer, and I'm connecting to a client's system w/the VPN Client.
I have completed my CCNA qualification and i am doing some volunteering for a none proffit eletronics recyciling company they receved some cisco pix 515e firewalls and i was aloud to keep one so i can learn how hardwaire firewalls work and how to set them up but i can not seem to connect to it is there a way to completely reset the device to factory settings without any ip address or passwords i do not have any cables for the device but i have made a straight and cross over cable and there is a box of cables at the recyciling company from diffrent places if i need a specialist cable i may be able to find one

Obviously this means that I need to have an exception rule in the Windows Firewall in order to use the Windows Firewall. What exception (inbound/outbound) rules that I need to set in order to use the Gateway to Gateway?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an ASA5520 that I need to re-address the two internal interfaces (sec level 100) on. If I can connect to this ASA remotely on the outside interface via ADSM, can I be sure I won't lose connectivity with the ASA while I'm changing the internal interfaces? If I can do this, it would save me a 2,000 mile flight and back Seems doable to me, but thought I'd ask.... I guess I could also engineer a remote access solution that connects to the Mgmt0 interface on the ASA, but that would take time and equipment.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI have an RV042 which is being used as an interface to an ISP.The WAN address (public) is obtained via PPPoE.The LAN address (also public) is entered manually from an assigned block of public addresses. This is the internet gateway for other publicly-addresses devices like firewalls, VPN devices, etc.
I have an RV042 to play with as will as one in production that I can access.Because the accesses are both through public addresses, I want to use https to access the device. I've generated a number of questions as I'm not sure the behavior is understandable to me and maybe the behavior isn't even consistent.
- If the firewall is Disabled, the https setting is still available. So, presumably https will work with the firewall enabled or disabled? Is that right?
- I take it that the Remote Management setting and port number are associated with the WAN port. For example, can one set Remote Management ON with port 443 and still access via the LAN on port 80? on port 443?
- If Remote Mangement is OFF then I presume that one cannot access the device through the WAN. Yet, that seems to not be the case. I wonder if the public addresses on this device affect this?
Well, I guess we might forget about the Port number and just ponder the following - Sort of a truth table:
Remote OFF
http...........WAN access: NO LAN access: YES
https..........WAN access: NO LAN access: YES
Remote ON
http...........WAN access: YES LAN access: YES
https..........WAN access: YES LAN access: YES
This is what it would seem to me to be but it doesn't seem to work that way.
I have a pair of ASA 5510s configured in active/standby mode. I have already configured the fail over settings on the firewalls. Both firewalls are connected to a 2960G. I made a change to the interfaces on the 2960 to allow 2 mac addresses on each port. [code]
Upon testing failover via the failover active command, I get port-security errors on the outside interface for each device:%PORT_SECURITY-2- PSECURE_ VIOLATION: Security violation occurred, caused by MAC address aaaa.bbbb.cccc on port GigabitEthernet0/8. After a few minutes, the error goes away and I can then connect to each firewall. It seems that it still waits for the aging time to expire before allowing the other MAC address. Shouldn't the "maximum 2" setting allow for both mac addresses?
I'd rather not have to hardcode the firewall's MAC addresses on each switchport because I could see this causing problems for us down the road. Is there anything else that can be done?
I'm looking for a good router, home or even Small Business, with good QoS settings. Right now I have the Linksys E3000, but I think I could do better. I want to prioritize VoIP traffic.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI installed an IP camera, and had to change my E1000 router settings to a static IP address. Now I can't access the router settings. 192.168.1.1 is still the default gateway, but it won't open in any browser.
I'm reluctant to do a reset because it took me quite a while to figure out how to get the IP camera and port forwarding working (it does!), and I'd hate to do it all again and come to the same place. I'm not very good at this stuff, and it's a small miracle that I did it once.
