Dec 30, 2012I got a new Tenda W311R+ Wireless-N Broadband Router yesterday. I already have a wired broadband internet connection in my home with a Beetel 110TC1 modem. I did following:
1. Connected the Beetel modem to the Tenda router using an Ethernet cable
2. Connected the Tenda router to my PC using another Ethernet cable.
3. Went to 192.168.0.1 (as mentioned in the instructions sheet which came along with the router)
Now, what should I set as the access mode, ADSL Dial-up or DHCP? Are there any other settings I should change in order to enhance the speed? I have Windows XP SP3. Also, do I need my Beetel modem or can I use the router without it?
Tenda Wireless Router Needs Restarting Each 10 Hours?
Oct 8, 2012I bought this Tenda wifi router and connected it.It's a chinese one and the user interface is not much friendly. It works fine but sometimes if u play around with it u will lose the settings you inserted in to it and you will need to reconfigure it.
My problem is my ISP seems to renew the IP's issued to their customers automatically every 10 hrs from the last login. But every other router keeps the connection alive but my router doesn't. It needs to be restarted in order to get the internet back online.simply said,u need to restart the router every 10 hrs.
BTW Never buy Tenda routers.

However, I am experiencing that it slows down every few minutes or so, for 30 second intervals, then the internet catches on again and everything is good.

all my systems are configured under "IP & MAC Binding". Binding is activated globally and all check marks for every ID are set. After i finished my configurations, the "ARP List" status shows, that everything is bound - so far everything is great. The problem appears after a router reboot or after shutting the router down and powering it on again. The "ARP List" then shows only a few of my IDs and their status is unbound. I need to go back to the "Binding Settings" and hit "Save" - after that all my IDs appear in the ARP-List and everything is OK again.

The led on the card doesn't light up indicating no power is making it to the card. I have tried installing the drivers off the cd but it says it won't as it cannot detect the card and I installed the drivers from their website but Windows still won't detect it. I have tried turning PCIpnp both on and off at the mobo but nothing seems to make a difference. Have they just sent me a duff card or could it be my mobo or something else?

But when I need to apply some configuration via CiscoView settings are not applied.
The following message is displayed when I try to apply some configuration on an interface of any one switch.
"Message Timeout on 172.20.1.10. This error could be due to lack of access to the host, invalid SNMP credentials, or a busy device. To correct the problem, do one of the following:
- Verify access to the host.
- Check the SNMP credentials.
- Increase the timeout value through the preference options on the chassis view."
I've checked the credentials and SNMP communities, the problem continues.

I realize the commands may be a little off, I don't have a switch nearby. When I get on our 3750 there are no issues, it allows you to apply the ACL the conventional way. I just can't seem to find any way to apply an ACL on an interface on the 6506 though.
