I am trying to setup my network in my home, so that I can extend the wireless signal from my main router by using an access point (a tenda w311r+).But, I want to do it so that the access point isn't connected to the main router with a cable, I want it to be connected to the main router wirelessly. It does say on the box that it can 'bridge' multiple wireless routers.
The access point I have also has 4 ethernet ports on it, so I will use one of these to plug my xbox 360 into.I also want the main router to be responsible for the DHCP.
I got a new Tenda W311R+ Wireless-N Broadband Router yesterday. I already have a wired broadband internet connection in my home with a Beetel 110TC1 modem. I did following:
1. Connected the Beetel modem to the Tenda router using an Ethernet cable 2. Connected the Tenda router to my PC using another Ethernet cable. 3. Went to 192.168.0.1 (as mentioned in the instructions sheet which came along with the router)
Now, what should I set as the access mode, ADSL Dial-up or DHCP? Are there any other settings I should change in order to enhance the speed? I have Windows XP SP3. Also, do I need my Beetel modem or can I use the router without it?
I tried to set up Tenda W311R as a repeater to increase the coverage. I have done the following, but still it cannot get Internet access:Set up WDS with the same channel and use the same encryption as the Linksys router; Disable the DHCP in the W311R;From the wireless point of view, I can see the Tenda router, but no Internet access.
I have been using broadband in my laptop using asus wireless router/modem DSL-N10E for last 2 months but with Ethernet cable plugged in. I have never used its wifi function. I tried today but was unable to connect after entering security passwordWhen look for troubleshoot it says "There might be problem with the drivers for the wireless network connection adapters"
I have this laptop with a built-in Intel Centrino Advanced-N + Wimax 6250 adapter to connect to WiMAX.Right now I have a WiMAX connection at home with a simple gateway. So what I want to do right now is trying to connect to this network using my built-in adapter.I'm facing right now is that the driver of the adapter only searchs for a certain provider from the US (Clear). I'd like to subscribe to their service but I live in Argentina so that's not a valid option. So my question is if you know of a custom driver or some other way to search for my local wimax network.
I have a Wimax internet connection via an ethernet cable from a small roof top receiver dish. Inside the house the cable (RJ45) is plugged into the POE slot on one side of a small electrically powered black box, and from the other side, an ethernet cable (RJ45), connects to my PC. I want to share my internet connection with my HTC mobile and would prefer to make use of an existing Belkin 54g ADSL2 modem/wireless router (Belkin F5D7633) if I can. As this router's incoming port is specifically for ADSL my internet RJ45 cable can not plug into it. I have been advised that I can still utilise the router part of the Belkin though, using my PC as an access point, by plugging the ethernet cable from the PC side of the little black box into LAN 1 on the router, then joining the PC to LAN 2 of the router with another ethernet cable.I did not alter the configuration of the Belkin at all (having reset factory defaults beforehand), mainly because although I could access the internet from my PC and my mobile, I could not access the IP address of the router, presumably because the properties of the local area connection on my PC remained unchanged with the IP address (188.8.131.52), Subnet Mask (255.255.255.0), Default Gateway (184.108.40.206) and 3 DNS addresses (220.127.116.11) (10.30.0.1) (18.104.22.168) as they were before hooking up the Belkin. The IP address the mobile received through WIFI on connecting to the Belkin was 22.214.171.124
I was not unduly concerned about not being able to access the configuration of the router as everything was working as I had hoped it would and even when I powered off my PC I still had internet access on my mobile. On rebooting the PC, however, I found that the router changed the DNS addresses on the PC to 2 only, both identical (192.168.2.1) and the IP on the mobile was allocated 192.168.2.2 Although I could still access the internet on my PC, I no longer had access from my mobile although the WIFI connection to the Belkin showed as being 'excellent'. When I did a 'repair' of my internet connection, hoping to revert to a fully operative state, the PC configuration changed again as follows: IP address becomes that of the router (192.168.2.1), Subnet Mask (255.255.255.0), Default Gateway (192.168.2.1), 2 DNS addresses (192.168.2.1) and the IP address allocated to my mobile remains (192.168.2.2) This configuration means I have no internet access from either PC or phone, but CAN access the router configuration. I restored a usable operating state by unplugging the power from the router, transposing the cables in the LAN ports on the router (swapped cable from LAN1 to LAN2 and vice versa), turned off WIFI on mobile and waited a minute or two. When I powered the router back up and switched on mobile WIFI again, everything was restored to the original working state and I have, once again, access to internet on both PC and mobile. It is very frustrating, however, to keep performing this ritual and I wonder if any of you more technically minded, know a way to work around this, perhaps by manually changing the configuration of PC or router?

Region : Philippines Model : TL-WR2543ND Hardware Version : V1 Firmware Version : ISP : Smartbro WiMax
I'm using the router TL-WR2543ND, I have pesonally configured the router myself, I'm no that good in computer but I managed to do so. I never had difficulty doing it. I have decided to switch to Smartbro Wimax and tried to connect it to my tp-link router but no luck. I browsed the net for possible instructions to do it but just frustrates me. I have changed the IP address of the router to avoid conflict, cloned the MAC address, still unable to connect the router.
I have a dell inspiron 1464 and have a wifi modem. while connecting it only shows a broadband(home network) bt doesnt connect with a red cross sign over it. i tried adding a new network bt it still wont connect
We recently got the telstra tg782t wifi modem from bigpond. When we first got it, we were able to connect and use the wifi on our ipods. but recently we have been connecting to the modem but when i go on safari or app store it says that it cannot find the server.
My Motorola SBG901 Modem/Router combo has stopped connecting to the internet. I have done all the troubleshooting with Comcast and with Motorola and it is out of warranty, so I will have to purchase a new one.In the mean time, I wanted to use it only as a wireless router connected to my Scientific Atlanta DPC2100R2 modem. Is there anyway to do this? Is there a way to disable the modem in the SBG901? Simply connecting with the ethernet cords has not worked. I connected the DPC2100 to the SBG901 via ethernet cord. My computer was able to pick up a wireless connection but there is no cable connection.
I bought this Tenda wifi router and connected it.It's a chinese one and the user interface is not much friendly. It works fine but sometimes if u play around with it u will lose the settings you inserted in to it and you will need to reconfigure it.
My problem is my ISP seems to renew the IP's issued to their customers automatically every 10 hrs from the last login. But every other router keeps the connection alive but my router doesn't. It needs to be restarted in order to get the internet back online.simply said,u need to restart the router every 10 hrs.
i have tenda ADSL router using the internet of Nepal Telecom, Nepal and distributed to two users. now i want to limit the speed of the other user to least and i want to achive maximum speed of the subscription but have no idea to manage it
I used to use a DSL modem/router supplied by Bell (my ISP) and it was a 2wire router, but the signal was not enough to supply my entire house, it was 802.11b/g.Now recently I bought a Tenda W307R, N router all-in-one with an AP.I just plugged it right into the 2wire (modem) and now the Tenda routes the wireless signal. However, I am experiencing that it slows down every few minutes or so, for 30 second intervals, then the internet catches on again and everything is good.
I am trying to set up a Tenda 150mbps wireless Ap/Router.Im trying to set it up to use it as a range extender.I followed all the directions. I put it in wisp mode. It doesnt seem to be communicating with my Tenda wireless router. It only is showing up as its own connection. so I cant even get on the internet.
