Use Intel Wimax 6250 To Connect To Random Network

Jul 31, 2012

I have this laptop with a built-in Intel Centrino Advanced-N + Wimax 6250 adapter to connect to WiMAX.Right now I have a WiMAX connection at home with a simple gateway. So what I want to do right now is trying to connect to this network using my built-in adapter.I'm facing right now is that the driver of the adapter only searchs for a certain provider from the US (Clear). I'd like to subscribe to their service but I live in Argentina so that's not a valid option. So my question is if you know of a custom driver or some other way to search for my local wimax network.

WiMAX 6250 - Windows Doesn't Recognize Correct Wireless Adapter

Feb 22, 2013

I've recently upgraded to windows 8 and I've been having some issues with my wireless connectivity. I've narrowed it down to an issue with the wireless adapter. Specifically, windows doesn't seem to recognize my Intel centrino Advanced-N + WiMAX 6250 and instead installed drivers for Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6250 AGN. The correct driver is instead listed in "Other Devices" in the device manager.

Intel Centrino WiMax 6150 With Asus U56e Stops Working?

Feb 19, 2013

I have an ASUS u56e laptop running Win7 Pro that I bought in Aug 2011. Unfortunately my problems started when I was working in East Timor and could not take it anywhere except the IT department where I worked. It is true that for a while I was using the LAN at work and also at my hotel where numerous ISPs were used at various points in time.

I have progressively lost almost total use of the wireless capacity of the machine and this is regardless of where I am using the computer (country, state, public or private networks). Very rarely will I have access and then not for long. When it is not working I will get a message saying that a network adapter cannot be found.

I have updated the driver software and experimented with the power settings. I have also uninstalled an ASUS utility that I read might have been a problem. About the only thing that sometimes works is to disable the network adapter, shut down, and then restart the computer. But not for long.

There is WiMax capability that came with the computer, which I bought at Best Buy. Based on IT advice I have made sure that WiMax is off but the wifi button indicates 'on.' When I am having problems though, I cannot see the wifi button.

I am using Windows Firewall and Webroot SecureAnywhere v.8.02.109. At device manager I see for network adapters: Intel(R) Centrino(R) WiMax 6150 and Intel(R)Centrino(R) WirelessN6150. There is also an entry above for a 6150 Function Driver.

I have attached an image of the ipconfig from the ASUS.

Random Drop Outs From Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 Wireless Network

May 17, 2012

I have a Lenovo T420 with a Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 wireless network card that causes me some headache. It randomly gets disconnected from my router (Zyxel P-2601HN-F1) and home network, works fine though if i using cable. Right after it gets disconnected it reconnects and works fine until it gets disconnected again. I have an HP laptop connected at the same time and no problems there. It works fine in the network in our office (work laptop). I tried our IT dept but they were clueless and told me I had to figure it out by myself, as it works in the office..

Cisco Wireless :: 5100 / 6200 - Intel Chipset Clients Random Citrix Disconnects

Apr 24, 2012

Currently using intel 5100 & 6200 client cards on multiple driver versions. WiSM is 7.0.116. APs are 1250 and 1260 series. Citrix is setup to send server-side keepalives for session reliability. Randomly, several times a day the client will get disconnected from the Citrix application session but maintain connectivity to the AP and other applications continue to work. Traces show the server-side keepalive reach the controller but are delayed from controller to client by 5-6 seconds. Just enough time for the Citrix server to timeout and tear down to session. Additional testing shows the delay most likely occurs somewhere from controller to AP. It occurs on multiple controllers on multiple campuses.
We have Dell/Broadcom clients that don't experience the problem. The only commonality seems to be the Intel cards. CCX? I know Intel has a special relationship with Cisco regarding CCX and have developed features not available on other cards. Tried disabling power save and other CCX features but hasn't solved the issue.

Intel DZ77BH-55K - Install Network Driver For Intel For Windows Server 2003?

Sep 17, 2012

I know now that this is a Desktop motherboard, officially not supported for Windows Server operating systems, but I would still like to get it to work. I've confirmed that the motherboard network works in WinXP (Intel 82579V Gigabit) and typically the 32-bit Windows XP drivers work on Server 2003 as well. Several of the other drivers have installed just fine, but the network driver install package fails with "No Intel Adapters are present."

I am trying to install Windows Home Server v1 (based on Windows Server 2003) on this box and just want to get a basic network driver up and running. I've checked the BIOS config, and Device Manager shows a yellow question mark by "Ethernet Controller". The ID is:

PCIVEN_8086&DEV_1503&SUBSYS_20408086&REV_043&11583659&0&C8 but I don't really know what to do with that...

Small Network / Random Computers Lose Browsing At Random Times?

Dec 29, 2012

Network running about 60 computers, most of which are running windows 7 professional. Some are on a domain, some are not.At (seemingly) random times, some computer on the network will lose the ability to browse websites (including the web interfaces of networked devices). I can't identify what circumstances cause this to occur. I only find out about it when someone calls me.From the affected computer:I can ping sites I can ping our Cyberoam UTM (which acts as our DNS, DHCP, and firewall)disabling/enabling connection doesn't fix the problem releasing/renewing ip doesn't fix the problem flushing dns doesnt fix the problem uninstalled antivirus on two test machines, problem still randomly manifests.replaced the Cyberoam with newer model users have claimed that if they wait a long period of time (40+ minutes) the problem sometimes resolves.rebooting the computer resolves the issue until it randomly occurs again changing the computer's mac address also resolves the issue until it randomly occurs again.

Since successfully restoring my laptop to factory settings I have been unable to connect using my Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection.Initially it worked, but after a while it stopped. I have completed several system restores, and the wireless connection works for a few days. On the last occasion (after installing windows updates) I received the dreaded blue screen and have been unable to connect.I am not sure if it is related to installing new windows updates as prior to restoring to factory settings I had no issues with my wireless connection.I am able to connect using the ethernet cable and I am currently able to connect using Pluscom wireless usb adapter.I am using the fujitsu siemens amilo pi 2515 notebook.netgear dg834g router?

Home Network :: Random Network Drops / Disconnects Services?

Apr 15, 2011

I've been having some issues with my network connectivity for a while now, and I haven't been able to figure out what the problem is. I run a wired connection to an Ethernet port in the wall of my university dorm. I have verified that it is not a global network issue or an ISP issue; this problem only happens on my PC.My network connection drops/disconnects randomly throughout the day. When I say disconnect/drop, I mean that all attempts to ping or access the internet fail. A few minutes pass before the Network and Sharing center task tray icon shows a warning sign saying that my computer could not connect to the internet. This is temporarily fixed by doing an ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew, but I have to execute these two commands about 2-3 times a day on average.

There is no exact interval between the disconnects, nor does it happen when I am running particular programs. The disconnect happens regardless of what I am doing at the moment (gaming, browsing the internet, leaving the computer idle).A month back, I installed some Windows Updates and suddenly my internet connection was almost completely broken. I was experiencing the same issue, but much more frequently. My internet would die within 10 seconds of executing any download, but Windows wouldn't recognize that something was wrong. At first I thought the ZoneAlarm, Avast!, or the SafeConnect (as required by my university) services were causing trouble but uninstalling/disabling these services did not fix the problem.I also tried reverting to my default ethernet drivers, which did nothing. I uninstalled and reinstalled multiple versions of my drivers to no avail. However, the internet worked just fine in Safe Mode with Networking, so I cross-referenced the processes/services running in Safe Mode w/ Networking against my normal startup, guessing something else was at play. After some poking around, I discovered that disabling the Server and Browser services permanently fixed the issue of instant connection death. But the initial problem I described still remains;random, less frequent internet connection drops.

D-Link DIR-655 :: Cannot Connect In N-mode With Intel 4965AGN

Jan 2, 2010

I installed an Intel 4965AGN into my Dell Inspiron (running Windows 7) to connect with 802.11n to my D-Link DIR-655. It refuses to connect in N mode, it will only connect in G mode. I have tried everything I could find online. I set security to WPA2-AES, and even tried with no security with no luck whatsoever. Before the 4965AGN i had an Intel 5300 which had the same problem, but I returned it because I thought it was a problem with compatibility with my Dell. Apparently something else is the culprit. What could I be over-looking?

D-Link DIR-601 :: Intel Pro / Wireless 2200BG Will Not Connect

Jan 21, 2012

My RIM Playbook will connect to the DIR-601. My HP Laptop with the Intel WiFi 5300 AGN will connect to it.

However the Acer Aspire 1640 with the Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG will not.

SYMPTOMS:  The system can see the network SSID, even seems to pick up the correct encryption (AES or TKIP) and also whether I've configured it for B or G modes.  However when I attempt to connect to the network, the system prompts for the key, then pretends like it never did.  A second attempt prompts for the key, and attempts to connect, but fails, simply saying "Cannot connect."

SOFTWARE: This laptop is running Windows XP Home Edition SP3.  I've tried connecting using the Intel client PROSET software (the newest version, just downloaded) as well as the native Windows client.  THE EXACT SAME BEHAVIOUR OCCURS, leading me to believe it's not a software issue.

HARDWARE: This is a D-Link DIR-601 at Hardware Version B1 and Firmware Version 2.00NA

I have the router set to WPA-Personal, WPA2 Only, TKIP (have tried it on AES too), G only (have also tried B only).  The router has already been hard reset and I started over from scratch.  I've also ensured I have the latest drivers for the wifi adapter.

Other laptops, tablets, and even phones can connect to the router with no issue.

Seems like this is an incompatibility with this particular Intel WiFi adapter, but cannot find any official list of incompatible hardware I can use to confirm.

Would changing the software to DD-WRT work in this case, do you think? Or is this more likely to be a hardware thing?

Unable To Connect To Random Sites?

May 7, 2012

I built a computer down at school in Utah, semester's over so I went back to Idaho for the summer. When I got here I seemed to stop being able to connect and load content from random sites. It gets a ping time out every time on the same random websites.

Some of the sites:

I can access these sites in Utah, so I called my ISP (frontier communications, previously verizon.) They flushed the DNS and checked that the modem wasn't to blame. I checked my host files and they're unaltered. After two hours on the phone they were stumped and hung up. [URL] loads fine, but it won't load the pictures which is odd.I'm not sure if it matters but I do have a 6 year old modem (westell 327w) that I think uses LAN g whereas my mobo (asrock extreme3 gen3) uses Realtek 8111E if i'm looking at the correct last thing to add would be that I am not able to access [URL], but I am able to access [URL]. Is there something all these websites have in common that cause them not to load?

Network Card Dies At Random

Aug 23, 2011

At first it seemed to happen everyday at the same time, but now seems completely random (happening twice a day somedays). At some part during the day while the user is busy with this system it drops the network connection. The ONLY way to get it back is by restarting via the reset button. Shutdown or even logoff just hangs. Nothing regarding that card will work or respond, you can not even disable and re-enable. I can however get the wireless to work without restarting. I've done everything I could possible think of including format and re-installing Windows. Something new I've noticed is that the user always has MS Access (in runtime mode) running while network goes down and then you can not end that process.

To fix it I have to switch off Airport and switch it back on again and it re-connects straight away. The Mac OSX software albeit now rather dated on both devices (The Macbook is 10.5.8) is kept up to date using Software Update. The problem amy also now be affecting my APPLE TV2 it never had a problem before but now I cannot connect to iTunes on my Macbook using Home Sharing it just does not want to connect!!!I did try before going into the Speedport and changing channels from AUTO to channel 1 but that did not resolve it. I am going to do it again and try a different channel but logging onto the Speedport is an absolute pain, I can only login using my Macbook Pro when it is booted into Windows XP and on Ethernet as we had all sorts of problems setting it up and could only do it using IE not SAFARI and now the Speedport login only recognises 1 x PC for logging in, if you try a different device it throws a wobbly and locks up!

As far as I know, the problem is not nearly as bad on other devices in the house , so I suspect that my network card has become shoddy. I have tried updating, removing, and re-installing network drivers to no avail. I have also used cmd and I have pinged, which shows random ping spikes, and some packet loss as well.

Mapped Network Drive Fails At Random?

Mar 18, 2011

I am having an issue with 3 xp pc's in my network loosing connectivity to the file server. There are 4 network drives mapped to a win 2k3 server, when the user logs in everything is fine, after a while the network drives become unreachable and gives the following error - An error accrued while reconnecting (drive letter) to \servershare Microsoft windows network: The local device is already in use The connection has not been restarted” This happens from any user on only 3 boxes. The rest of the network is fine. These 3 are networked via a switch, I swapped that out for another hoping that might fix it, but nothing.

The other odd thing is the same time that the network drives error out it seems that DNS stops resolving anything outside my network. I can still ping the router and other pcs on the LAN but DNS fails to resolve any names for IE, and nothing outside the LAN can be pinged, no Google, no How ever restarting fixes the issue for a short while. There have been no network changes and all systems are fully up to date as far as patches go. I was thinking it's got to be a ether a DNS issue (the file server is also the Active Directory Domain controller) or something in to do with the router/fire wall we use (it's a Cisco ASA 5005).
