I've been tasked with setting up a laptop that I would describe as "ancient". It's running XP SP3 right now and it does that rather well. However, there's one issue that I have not yet been able to get rid of and I've been working on this on and off for about a year (luckily, the laptop's owned by a relative, so I'm not on a deadline). However, all lack of deadlines aside, I'm at my wit's end. So here's the issue.Whenever I boot the laptop up, the Wireless Button is disabled. Since this laptop is never going to be moved again, it's very bothersome to always have to push the button, wait for a while and then have it sign in. Here's what I want: I want the laptop to boot up, then automatically link up to the house's own WLAN.
The Wireless connection is handled via Wistron Launch Manager 1.1.0 and the laptop is a Littlebit Coris Z71. I've figured out that an EXE named WButton.exe is responsible for the availability of wireless connections. However, putting a shortcut to this EXE in the Startup-folder of the startmenu hasn't worked either. I also seem to be unable to figure out what process WButton.exe uses or which values it changes, let alone where they're changed. For all I know, the wireless connection is handled by a magical randomness.
Have HP laptop which was working fine but suddenly I cannot enable wifi button. Will not turn blue when I press it. Have gone into control panel then mobile settings which shows wifi disabled but will not let me enable it.
I recently tried to connect to my wireless broadband and the icon had disappeared. I went into control panel and wlan assistant and tried to enable the wireless.A message comes up saying it is trying to install software for Broadcom 802.11b/g WLAN.I run through the process but then when I try and get on to network controller I get the message there was a problem installing this hardware. It says This Device is disabled (code 22)
I have requirement to enable the AES encryption on the management VLAN traffic between connected root and non root bridges .below is the network setup .
Router<---->SW1 ( main office)--> Root-bridge < ---------->non root-bride------SW2 ( remote end site)
Apart from the specific configuration on the wireless bridge is any extra configuration required on the Switch interfaces?
We are installaing a new RSP720 on 7606 platform and facing a peculiar problem. It is prompting for a enable password. We have not configured anything on router yet, still it is asking for enable password.
I was trying to do a password recovery on a 1142 AP but enable password did not reset and I am stuck

Its autonomous so there is no controller. I renamed the config.txt file I am unable to rename or delete the private-config file. I get the message that file or directory cannot be found when i try to rename and permission denied when I try to delete it.
I would like to setup a 2504 to have one Guest WLAN and one Staff WLAN with a controller port for each WLAN connected to different devices.
I would prefer to connect the WLC Guest port to an ASA 5510 and the WLC Staff port to an internal 2960S switch. Will this work? I haven't setup a 2500 series controller previously.

i have a laptop that has a wireless button on the front and every time i try to click it to turn it on, it wont even blink. On the wireless networks, all it says is hat no connections are available. get my wireless network button on my laptop to turn on somehow?
I am running Win7 ultimate edition 7100 (i think), fully updated. Im on a network with 2 other computers through a router via lan cable.
I've recently written a batch file to share my files on my portable hard drives with my network, using the 'net share' command. It runs with my computer startup.
Everything is working fine, and the files/folders are shared perfectly.
Now I cannot share any new files with anyone... I right-click a folder, got to properties, click on the sharing tab. Now usually there is 2 buttons, one that says "Share" and one that says "advanced Sharing". The "Share" button under 'Network File and Folder Sharing' is greyed out.
Also when i right-click a folder, and go to "share with", there is nobody to select.
Ive tried googling it, and messing around myself. My old shared folders are still being shared, I just cannot share any new ones.
i have an hp laptop that has a wireless button on the top right hand of the typing area. It has turned red before and all i had to do was push the button and it would turn gree. It has gone red again and when i push the button it stays red.
My keyboard was broken so plugged in a USB keyboard that doesn't have a fn button. I must have accidentally pressed something as my comp is asking me to turn in the wireless capability. There is no button on the computer and the light for wifi is off. How to turn this back on with a keyboard that does not have a fn button?

Just installed windows 8 on this laptop, everything is working fine, it has all the drivers etc. It does not seem to be picking up wireless for some reason. When I press the quick launch button for wireless absolutely nothing is happening, however it can pick up internet with the ethernet cable from the modem. Had a read of this and tried to install the FSC Launch Manager from the Fujitsu website still to no avail. Cant be the operating system either as it the same problem arose when i install a version of xp yesterday.
I'm having problems with the wireless button after I took my laptop apart to clean. The wireless button won't switch on at all and doesn't light up. When I press fn f8 nothing happens. I'm not sure what I've done. The wires are correctly in place as far as I can tell. I've tried the following things:Uninstalling the adapter in device manager and rebooting /Checked adapter is listed as working properly /Do a system restore /Check BIOS
I used to share the internet between a Win 7 Home edition machine and a Win 7 Starter through ad hoc connection.(The Win 7 Home machine has the internet cable connected to it). I have noticed the Internet Connection Sharing button missing from the Win 7 machine for awhile now. As far as I remember I did not do anything untoward the Win 7 machine.
The DIR-655 has a square button on the side of it. It looks like a refresh button. I don't know what it does, but I have pressed that button before, thinking it does something good. Nothing bad has happened after I pressed it , but I have no clue about what is does.
How can I reset my N wireless router f5d8233-4v3? The reset button must have been pushed inside. I was setting it up as a repeater and then it keeps timing out.
