Dec 21, 2011I have just received 3 notepad's that are for my kids on Christmas day. I have managed to get 2 of the 3 connected perfectly and have a connection of 65mb per second and the other one has a connection of 6mb per second!!I am certainly no computer expert, I am very worried that 2 are working spot on and the other has something wrong with it!!Is it something that could be set up wrong or is whatever makes the wifi connection faulty.

Linksys Switch Has Started Killing The Dsl Connection
Jan 7, 2011I have been using a linksys 5 port workgroup switch in my room. I have the ethernet cable coming from the router into the uplink port and my PS3, xbox, dvr, and pc in the other ports. It has been working fine until today I started messing around the the cables. I had trouble with the ps3 connecting to the internet so I used my laptop with wifi disabled to test out a few of the cables and ports. Now all of a sudden the switch kills the internet connection. If I remove the cable running to my room from the main router, the other PCs and wireless will connect, but as soon I plug myself up it goes dead. I now have the ethernet cable in my room hooked directly to the PC bypassing the switch and everything works fine now.

It doesn't even appear to have cut out by the icon at the bottom but it does stuff like stop youtube videos from loading or when I am playing online poker or online gaming it will cut out for about 30 seconds before reconnecting again.

Jan 24, 2013Been having a weird problem recently, our internet normally runs around 4mb and was fine until around two months ago, when all of a sudden it started disconnecting and running really slowly. Normally around peak times, but also whenever the wife turns her laptop on.I know what you are about to say - Virus, exactly my first thought until I also noticed that whenever this happened the noise margin started jumping, or it would lose sync and resync at around 1.5mb, with high ping times and repeated dropped packets. Turning her laptop off seemed to solve dropped packets (although would stay slow and high ping times remain)We moved the laptop around the house and noticed this only happened when she sits on the sofa in the living room, bear in mind this sofa is a good 2 meters away from the nearest phone socket (which is not connected anyway) and works fine anywhere else, albeit in close proximity or not to the router / phone line.We cannot fathom why this is happening and have had a ticket open with Sky who have exhausted their capacity to resolve without fixing it.

So I have been into Services to 'start' Cisco Systems, Inc. VPN Services - this then always comes up with this error: Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion
The solution mentioned on other posts on disabling the ICS but it was already disabled. When I try to start VPNGUI I also get error 56 and when I try to use services.msc to start the service I get error 1053. Then also when I try to start from task manager services(cvpnnd) i get access denied.

Mar 6, 2013The website [URL] started giving me this error : The server at forums.d2jsp.org is taking too long to respond. I am directly connected to my service provider's box (The brand is "Arris"). The issue seems to have started as soon as I uninstalled google chrome (reinstalling doesn't fix it). My last resort with reinstalling windows 7 64bit.
My service provider is Videotron (Quebec, Canada) I can see the front page directly from their IP adress: [URL] but as soon as I hit any link it goes back to the connection time out error.

Jun 17, 2012I have had intermittent problems with this PCI 802.11n adapter since I installed it. There isn't a new driver available, so that's not a solution. Issue is despite a strong signal, WiFi connection breaks sometimes when a session (either e-mail or browser) is started.The bar signal indicator goes from 5 bars to none, and mouse-over shows "no connection." About half the time the PC locks up (frozen cursor, no response to ctrl-alt-del, etc.).some of the time, the PC recovers after several minutes or more, other times locks up completely and the PC must be either forced reset or powered down manually. I've run CC Cleaner and check out the registry but can't find anything that works. PC is a 2.4GHz Celeron 1GB RAM running WinXP SP3 with all updates.Not related to browser; behavior is the same with Firefox, Chrome, IE. Also, other PCs on same network have no issues.On occasion I've triggered the lock-up while I had performance monitor running, and in the cases where the machine resumed running by itself, history showed no overloads typical of lock-ups. This PC is used almost exclusively for basic e-mail and browsing.

I tried changing the MTU settings in the router to 1492 (my ISP default) but didnt work.
Tried changing the MTU to 1492 on every computer and still got the same problem.For now im using the WAG120N in bridge mode, and still using my old speedstream4200 as ADSL modem.

Dec 19, 2012no changes except switched out old steady wrt45g router cabled to different computer for a new (crazy good price) asus n66 dark knight. stable old system after clean install xpsp3 several years ago. abruptly started crashing and endless rebooting any time wusb54g attached. no antivirus active. never had linksys monitor software installed. xp had handled everything well till now. repeated attempts to re-install drivers (rt25000usb) fail. occasionally xp sees "new hardware" and occasionally it simply immediately crashes. attempted install of ?failing? usb54gv4 onto much newer W7 machine to try to test hardware w/o success. linksys AE1000 usb adapter worked on W7 machine and also installed successfully on the old steady XP machine in question.
