Cisco WAN :: 851 Routers Are Frozen Almost Once Or Twice A Day
Jun 28, 2011We have one cisco 871 and five cisco 851 routers , all those routers are connected to each other using site to site VPN tunnels, so each router have 5 tunnels, we are usong thhese routers for IP phones, each location have 2-3 IP phones and 2-3 computers, all routers are connected to internet using ADSL modems,
out of these 6 locations 2 cisco 851 routers are getting frozen once or twice a day, and we need to reboot them, I already changed the router at one location with new one but problem is still there, but if i look for the logging ( Show logging ) its shows only interface up and down status that because of reboot, i cant find what is the reason these cisco 851 routers have 4 port LAN swithc in built, that still works even router is frozen, i was not able to ping or access the router not even using console.

Jul 27, 2012laptop has frozen on "this programme cannot display the webpage". cannot access start menu, task manager or anything else. Can turn off with power button but when it comes back on it flashes on the desktop then reverts immediately to the "this programme ........." page again.

Jul 8, 2012I have had this wireless router a year or two and it had been working fine until late last night when it just quit. It will not connect to any wireless devices in the house. When my main PC is connected to the router, I cannot get on the internet at all. If I plug my PC directly into my DSL modem the internet works fine. I tried the reset button on the router and still nothing. When the router is connected I get this message:"Limited or no connectivity. You might not be able to access the internet or some network resources. This problem occured because the network did not assign a network address to the computer"It's very hard to troubleshoot the problem on the internet because if I have to connect the router to try something then I lose my internet connection.I hate when things quit working spontaneously. Absolutely nothing changed when this issue started. One minute it was working fine and the next it wasn't.

Up until recently I was able to use my chip to connect a Sculpt Touch Bluetooth mouse, but as of late, I am not. When I place the mouse into discovery mode I am able to see the mouse, but when I try to connect to it I get an error that says, "That didn't work. Try again and make sure your mouse is discoverable." I know the Bluetooth chip is still working as I am able to control my iPhone from the computer. I have all the updates installed for my system, including the driver for the Bluetooth card.

Jun 29, 2011Ciso 1941 router frozen once a day, sometimes after 2 to 7 days. When the router frozen, no internet connection and cannot login/ping ethernet ports. I can login to console port and copy the error messages below. Reload the router and it will return back to normal operation. Re-installed IOS but still the same.

We also have a T1 line in another loaton and would be moving to this same 2811 router there as well.We would also like to copy over the configuration from 1700 series router to the 2811 router. Would it be easier to do it by hyper-terminal? Also if we keep the 1700 routers are they capable of using layer-3?

The cat5 cable is about 6 inches too short to reach the new box so we figured we might as well run a new cat6 line. (I think we can make the run 20 feet shorter so that's a bonus.)The cat5 line has 2 jacks wired in series at either end. Everything I've read says cat6 is much more touchy and you should only expose the minimal amount of wire from the sheathing and don't untwist the pairs more than necessary. Can I put two jacks on each end of the cat6?

Feb 15, 2011I have a ADSL and ESHDSL service being delivered to a client site and then using HSRP to ensure that ADSL is provided first and ESHDSL will take over after. The ESHDSL is dedicated for DVTIs to branch offices and that works fine, however I want to provide redundancy for incoming services such as SMTP/RDP etc. but when I forward these ports or a direct IP NAT traffic can only flow if directed to the ADSL service because HSRP is masking the route back and since it came in on the ESHDSL router the ADSL router does not know what to do with the traffic and hence drops it.
How to make it so both routers can port forward with HSRP?
