View 9 Replies View RelatedI have E4200 connected to Internet. It is configured with NAT. My side of the router is set to 10.10.10.0 and DFG is set to 10.10.10.254. Server is connected at 10.10.10.1 and is DHCP host.I now have E1000 that I want to connect downstream side of the E4200 (located on the other side of the building). I want the E1000 to be an extension of the existing network so the whole building looks like one network. I'm not sure how to configure the E1000. I assume I need to disable NAT but I'm not sure how to configure the Internet IP addresses of the router and nro am I sure how to configure the local network side of the router. As I write this, I wonder if I connect one of the Ethernet ports of the E1000 to the E4200 and just leave the Internet side unplugged?
View 2 Replies View RelatedOur boss decides to purchase 1941w Router & he asked me to do the necessary configuration. my knowledge in CISCO router is a CCNA level & i've never configured an embedded AP or ADSL line on a router before.
the topology is as the following: as for the wired Network, we have one LAN (192.168.1.0/24) connected to GE0/0 (192.168.1.254/24) on router & has the ability to access the internet which is ADSL configured as ATM0/0/0
As for the wireless network ( now here is the problem) what i want is the following:
I want the wireless network to share the same network with the wired which means 192.168.1.0/24 i want to use WPA encryption how to configure the AP?!
this is a true challenge for me. After a lot of searching, most of the sample configuration over there is about creating two VLANS!!! & two DHCP Pool.
I'm trying to configure WiFi on my Cisco 871w router withouth any knowledge in this area. And it's a tough one, couldn't do it just with google, hope this is the place where I can get it done right step by step if possible. Everything else works fine. I'm going to post my messy show run below. Everything I did on dot11Radio will need to be cleared I suppose.

(or any other vpn privacy service for that matter) I already have an internet connection up and live with a cisco router so I would need to connect the linksys to the cisco and use the linksys as a vpn gateway kind of thing, so that any computer connected to the linksys will automatically be in the vpn tunnel without needing any cleint software installed on it. The vpn service I use is proxpn but they won't support the settings of individual routers (understandable). The only setting they give for a PPTP connection is here

I attached the router to the computer with the Ethernet cable, and switched the router on, expecting it to work as DHCP server by default, so I could access routers configuration and set it up as needed. This however failed right away. Obviously the router didn't start DHCP, even after I reset with the reset button on the back. Now there is no way to accesss the router to configure it, since web interface path relies on router's DHCP function to access it through 192.168.1.1 which is not working. What can be done to enable it?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI just bought a Linksys E2500, and I'm trying to configure multiple SSID's on it. The "guest mode" won't work for me because I want one SSID to use WPA and the other to use WEP, but the option to set different encryption based on the GHz frequency of the connection won't work for me because I only want the WEP one to be used by my Nintendo DS (which doesn't support WPA); I don't want to force ALL devices that don't support 5GHz to use the WEP one!
View 9 Replies View Relatedhow to configure it. So far googling and using the router's built-in help feature hasn't been of use. First off, here's my setup:NETWORK A with default gateway of 192.168.0.1 and a subnet of 255.255.255.0
NETWORK B with default gateway of 10.10.100.1 and a subnet of 255.255.255.0
I want B to connect to A since that's where I have my domain setup with active directory.
Now from my understanding the Destination LAN IP should be the network I want to connect to, in this case 192.168.0.1. The subnet mask should be 255.255.255.0 and the default gateway should be 10.10.100.1. However, when I do this, the LinksysE200 throws out an 'Invalid Static Route" error. What am I doing wrong? Also, here is the routing table as given by the E200:
