Have a long-time friend who is almost totally computer illiterate to whom I provide tech support. He uses MSN Explorer (MSNE) thru Verizon.net, which has been free up 'til now, but beginning March 1, 2012, Verizon is dropping it. I advised him to drop MSNE and switch to FREE Outlook Express (computer OS is XP) or Thunderbird. But as you might expect, he is averse to change. To keep MSNE, he had to subscribe to it and pay the $9.95 annual fee for the basic version, which he did today. However, he has apparently also had, but never used, a Hotmail address, and on the MSNE e-mail page, it shows in the left panel like a separate account. He wants to remove it from MSNE. I know nothing about MSNE; am used to Outlook Express and Thunderbird, both of which have simple access to accounts, including deleting them. I can find nothing in MSNE about deleting the Hotmail account. So how can he delete the link to his Hotmail account?View 6 Replies View Related

I can connect to the guest account but it cannot resolve DNS addresses; how should the router be set up?
The regular (non-guest) account works as advertised. The E1200 is connected to my Verizon modem/router. I have tried disable/enable of DHCP on the E1200; I have tried setting the E1200 Static DNS 1 to my Verizon router IP address without success.
Any detailed knowledge about Cisco ACS 5.1 and Windows AD interaction? I wonder why does Cisco ACS domain account must have permission to create/delete domain objects. This fact does really surprided me, because to my mind Cisco ACS only reads domain structure, and does not make any changes.View 3 Replies View Related

I haven't found a way to rename the Guest account on my E3000 router. If my router is named HomeRouter the Guest account automatically gets the name HomeRouter-guest. I have disabled the router's SSID broadcast, but it still broadcasts the almost identical Guest account.View 4 Replies View Related
I have setup my EA3500 for guest access however when my clients connect and start their browser they are never prompted for a password to continue their session. The browser times out. I can connect to the secured network by using the wireless password and the clients work.
I have the lastest firmware. I have a host of different clients, Kindle Fire HD, RIM Playbook, Windows 7 laptop. I have turned off guest account restarted, reconfigured and nothing changes. The browser always times out and the client is never prompted for a password. I bought this router because a friend that I visit has one so that visitors can use the internet...I know hers works, I have brought my Kindle along with me and connected to her Linksys router and it prompts for a password. I liked the feature so much I bought this one.
FYI. This router was replaced under warranty, I spent two days (I'm not kidding) on the phone with Linksys support trying to get the first one to work. I rebooted, reset to default, changed settings, tweaked, used different clients all with no effect so they replaced it.
I would like for Cisco to offer a firmware update for my 4200 so that the password for the guest account can be disabled.View 1 Replies View Related

How can I remove the PIN code that's been configured in my computer. My computer shares in a home network that bumps everyone out whenever I go into the internet including the owner of the BELKIN network router to whom we are connected to the internet. I mistakenly connected into the network via the router's PIN Code resulting in my computer being configured and the rest of computers in the network being bumped out. Instead of just typing the passphrase/password I typed in the text box the PIN code for the Belkin router when it asked for the PIN code instead of just connecting into the internet without necessarily configuring my computer for the BELKIN router? how to remove the PIN code in my computer so that I do not bump everyone in the network.View 1 Replies View Related

We have a wireless router on our network 192.168.23.xxx and if the main router SSID is enabled we can connect to the internet, but am also connected to the network. I want to allow guests to use the wireless but not be able to see our network, I disabled the SSID broadcast and setup the Guest account and enabled the guest SSID broadcast. The note in the configuration says that guest will have to open a web browser and enter the password to use the internet. When connecting to the guest account nothing happens. I never see a login screen, nothing. I typed 192.168.1.1 into the address bar and it did oopen a login page for the guest account but does not connect to the internet. The network viewer says it is connected but the webpage says limited or no connectivity.View 1 Replies View Related
We currently have ACS 5.4 and Cisco WLC 5508's deployed. We have wireless lobby admin accounts that can login and successfully create and modify guest wireless accounts. What we are trying to do, however, is give the lobby admins the ability to create wireless accounts with lifetimes longer than 30 days. Currently our setup will only allow the creation of permanent accounts (by entering all 0's in the lifetime fields) or accounts that last up to thirty days.View 4 Replies View Related

I moved to Comcast internet yesterday (from 3Mbps DSL), and the E4200 seems to be working well (although somewhere along the way it decided to delete all the files on the NAS drive...an issue for another day). On my laptops and wired PCs I'm now seeing 15-20Mbps down, and 4Mbps up. However, when I connect with my iPhone 3GS, I only see about 7.5Mbps down, and 4Mbps up using online speedtests. I have tried messing with the router settings and resetting all the network settings on the iPhone but nothing changes. I know my iPhone can handle more, because I get 15Mbps down when I visit family (they have a Netgear N300). I can only conclude that my E4200 is the cause.View 6 Replies View Related

I recently got a new email provider with a webmail. But I can not access the email from my home network. I have tried both my computers so I suspect that it can have something to do with my router. I have also set up the new email account in Outlook and in other networks it works fine, also the webaccess works fine in other networks. It seems that the problem is only related to my home network.i have talked to my ISP provider and they say that all is opened in there network. i have tried to clone the MAC address and that did not solve my problem. I also read the one could change the MTU size from default 1500 to 1440, that did not work either.
have a problem with my EA6500 router. I can't connect to the internet, the connexion works fine. But, everytime i go on the smart wifi login page, i enter my login and password and then i'm asked to download the software for my EA6500 and to associate it with my account. The problem is that i just can't update it manually because i couldn't ever go on the tools page. Never. So i'm here with a great router but i can't configure it. I asked the support service several times but they always asked me to reset the router. Nothing changes.I 'm still unable to process after the login page, i have created a account successfully, i can login but everytime i just get stucked at " Associate your router with your account" page. My only options there is to click on OKAY or a link to download the firmware on Linksys support. I get the firmware but i can't install it because i can't go in the administrative page.View 4 Replies View Related
I am setting up a e4200 wireless router on a Comcast business account that uses a gateway (SMC8014).I have fixed public IP [x.x.x.x/30] and the gateway sets up a subnet 10.1.10.0 (255.255.255.0). I have mail server and DNS server at 10.1.10.20 and I use port forwarding in the SMC gateway.
The setup of the e4200 using the software sets up a network (192.168.1.1). I can connect devices to the router and browse the external Internet. However, when my android phone connects to the e4200 it gets an IP such as 192.168.1.101. However, I cannot download my mail which is at 10.1.10.20. When I try to browse that IP from the android phone I get the SMC gateway at 10.1.10.1 and not the computer at 10.1.10.20. If was coming in from the external Internet port forwarding would take over but it does not work for the android phone connected to the e4200.
Also, i noticed that when I set up the default setup for the e4200 the "Cisco Connect" says the WAN address is 10.1.10.155 and the LAN address is 192.168.1.1. However, when I go to the SMC Gateway and list the connected computers it doesn't see the e4200 at 10.1.10.155. If I set up the e4200 within 10.1.10.0 then the SMC sees it (but the computer name always says "unknown"). It I set the DHCP in either the SMC or the e4200 within the 10.1.10.0 subnet I can see the phone connection in the SMC when I list the connections but any requests to 10,1,10.0 computers goes to the SMC gateway.

I have configured my new EA2700 successfully, upgraded the firmware to Smart Wi-Fi, can access it locally and configure anything as expected.
However, when I log on with my (validated) Smart Wi-Fi account, I am always stuck at this page (see screenshot below):
- Logon to [URL] works fine
- The I am redirected to this page
- Now I can only click OK
- Logon again to [URL] --> start over again...
The firmware is the latest version 220.127.116.11204 and no other updates are found. I tried IE and Firefox --> same result.
I am having problems with my RV042.I have a Intervoip(url...) account for VOIP.
When I try to register the intervoip account to the internet I don't get any kind of reply. My VOIP server just keeps requesting to register the SIP account, but gets no reply.
When I connect an other router to my ISP modem, the register just goes fine. However the RV042 blocks something I don't really know what the cause could be.I installed wireshark to monitor my network traffic.
When I monitor registering with intervoip with the RV042, I see requests but no replies from intervoip, the VOIP server keeps requesting, but doesn't get any reply.
When I monitor registering with intervoip with an other router, I see requests from the VOIP server, and replies from intervoip initiating my intervoip account and everything goes well and registers. The following I tried:
- Forwarding port 5060 to private ip
- Putting private ip in DMZ
- Disabled the firewall
All without result. (Also tried them all at once)
I just setup my new Cisco EA4500 and upgraded to latest firmware and signed up for my account.Local access to the router works fine and I see the Smart Wi-Fi admin/config interface However when I try to go to the following site: url...To access Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Tools, your router <em>requires</em> the <a href="url...Series Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Firmware</a> and you will need to associate your router with your Linksys Smart Wi-Fi account. On a computer or device connected to your router, open url... and follow the instructions. This requires that you enter the router password so have that ready.
However I see no way to perform the association step - my account exists and my router is configured.I am doing all this behind this router wi-fi network not remotely.
