Have a long-time friend who is almost totally computer illiterate to whom I provide tech support. He uses MSN Explorer (MSNE) thru Verizon.net, which has been free up 'til now, but beginning March 1, 2012, Verizon is dropping it. I advised him to drop MSNE and switch to FREE Outlook Express (computer OS is XP) or Thunderbird. But as you might expect, he is averse to change. To keep MSNE, he had to subscribe to it and pay the $9.95 annual fee for the basic version, which he did today. However, he has apparently also had, but never used, a Hotmail address, and on the MSNE e-mail page, it shows in the left panel like a separate account. He wants to remove it from MSNE. I know nothing about MSNE; am used to Outlook Express and Thunderbird, both of which have simple access to accounts, including deleting them. I can find nothing in MSNE about deleting the Hotmail account. So how can he delete the link to his Hotmail account?
I can connect to the guest account but it cannot resolve DNS addresses; how should the router be set up?
The regular (non-guest) account works as advertised. The E1200 is connected to my Verizon modem/router. I have tried disable/enable of DHCP on the E1200; I have tried setting the E1200 Static DNS 1 to my Verizon router IP address without success.
Any detailed knowledge about Cisco ACS 5.1 and Windows AD interaction? I wonder why does Cisco ACS domain account must have permission to create/delete domain objects. This fact does really surprided me, because to my mind Cisco ACS only reads domain structure, and does not make any changes.
My friend was able to access my internet connection via my guest account WITHOUT having to enter the guest password. He was able to connect using a samsung galaxy phone with the android OS. However, when I connected to my guest account using my blackberry, I WAS asked for the guest account password.
I have an E2000 setup with the Cisco Connect Utility. I have a MAIN account and a GUEST account setup.I'm recently having a problem where I can only connect wireless through the "Guest" account. I can connect to my MAIN account, but it states that I have "Limited Access".
I haven't found a way to rename the Guest account on my E3000 router. If my router is named HomeRouter the Guest account automatically gets the name HomeRouter-guest. I have disabled the router's SSID broadcast, but it still broadcasts the almost identical Guest account.
I have setup my EA3500 for guest access however when my clients connect and start their browser they are never prompted for a password to continue their session. The browser times out. I can connect to the secured network by using the wireless password and the clients work.
I have the lastest firmware. I have a host of different clients, Kindle Fire HD, RIM Playbook, Windows 7 laptop. I have turned off guest account restarted, reconfigured and nothing changes. The browser always times out and the client is never prompted for a password. I bought this router because a friend that I visit has one so that visitors can use the internet...I know hers works, I have brought my Kindle along with me and connected to her Linksys router and it prompts for a password. I liked the feature so much I bought this one.
FYI. This router was replaced under warranty, I spent two days (I'm not kidding) on the phone with Linksys support trying to get the first one to work. I rebooted, reset to default, changed settings, tweaked, used different clients all with no effect so they replaced it.
How can I remove the PIN code that's been configured in my computer. My computer shares in a home network that bumps everyone out whenever I go into the internet including the owner of the BELKIN network router to whom we are connected to the internet. I mistakenly connected into the network via the router's PIN Code resulting in my computer being configured and the rest of computers in the network being bumped out. Instead of just typing the passphrase/password I typed in the text box the PIN code for the Belkin router when it asked for the PIN code instead of just connecting into the internet without necessarily configuring my computer for the BELKIN router? how to remove the PIN code in my computer so that I do not bump everyone in the network.
We have a wireless router on our network 192.168.23.xxx and if the main router SSID is enabled we can connect to the internet, but am also connected to the network. I want to allow guests to use the wireless but not be able to see our network, I disabled the SSID broadcast and setup the Guest account and enabled the guest SSID broadcast. The note in the configuration says that guest will have to open a web browser and enter the password to use the internet. When connecting to the guest account nothing happens. I never see a login screen, nothing. I typed 192.168.1.1 into the address bar and it did oopen a login page for the guest account but does not connect to the internet. The network viewer says it is connected but the webpage says limited or no connectivity.
We currently have ACS 5.4 and Cisco WLC 5508's deployed. We have wireless lobby admin accounts that can login and successfully create and modify guest wireless accounts. What we are trying to do, however, is give the lobby admins the ability to create wireless accounts with lifetimes longer than 30 days. Currently our setup will only allow the creation of permanent accounts (by entering all 0's in the lifetime fields) or accounts that last up to thirty days.
I have two 5508 WLCs. Both have APs attached to them. If I create a guest account with the lobby administrator on one, will that user account be able to log in to the network if the client is attached to the ohter WLC? So far, I have found that I need to create the same user on both WLC's, in order to have the user login.
My network is such that I want to extend the signal of the GUEST account. I have a WAP54G set up for that purpose and am getting a very strong signal. I can access the main network, but not the Guest, I cannot even see the GUEST access. Any setting change that needs to be made that will allow me to access the GUEST account from the Access Point?
I have a N300 f9k1002v1 router and would like to add guest access. Unfortuantely I can't find any info on how to do this. The user guide alludes to it but has no details. I also checked out this link: [URL]
since my router setp does not show "guest access" under "wireless" I skipped to #6 as stated. However when I get to #9 there is no "guest settings" dropdown for me to use.
I have an n600 ( F9K1102 v1 , firmware 1.00.09 ). My ISP provides my main router for my network, but I want to use the N600 as an access point, I have activated the "Use as Access Point" feature. Is it possible to still utilize the Guest Access feature in this case?
i have configured a cisco router with the following configuration to practice obtaining certificates from a microsoft 2008 server configured as a stand alone CA.this part works okay but what i am trying to do next is giving me a headachei am trying to delete the identity certificate but am having no luck whatsoever

i entered the following commands on the router to delete the certificatebut as you can see its telling me the certificate dosn't exist(this method of deleting the cert has come from Richard Deals complete cisco vpn configuration guide) 3Purley(config)#crypto ca certificate chain PurleyPurley(config-cert-chain)#no certificate 61E0446A000000000002% Certificate not found.ps the router is a 3640 running c3640-jk9o3s-mz.124-7.bin
I moved to Comcast internet yesterday (from 3Mbps DSL), and the E4200 seems to be working well (although somewhere along the way it decided to delete all the files on the NAS drive...an issue for another day). On my laptops and wired PCs I'm now seeing 15-20Mbps down, and 4Mbps up. However, when I connect with my iPhone 3GS, I only see about 7.5Mbps down, and 4Mbps up using online speedtests. I have tried messing with the router settings and resetting all the network settings on the iPhone but nothing changes. I know my iPhone can handle more, because I get 15Mbps down when I visit family (they have a Netgear N300). I can only conclude that my E4200 is the cause.
I have a EA4500 that I get error 2315 when I try to Delete, change name,or icon. I did a 30/30/30 and everything worked great,24 hours later I was back to error 2315. I tried re-flashing the firmware, but that didn't work. I get the same problems when I try using the Smart Wifi app. There are also times when I can not access the router using Smart Wifi unless I reboot the router when I get home.
