View 1 Replies View RelatedI can't find a way to enable UPnP or anything like it on my Motorola model 3360. I play online with my new xbox 360 and I have constant connection issues because it tells me my UPnP isn't enabled. I know my router isn't the problem because the problem continues even when my xbox is directly connected to the modem.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently got a Motorola NVG510 (from AT&T, they changed our internet plan and sent a new router) and since then I've had problems with Skype. I think I've narrowed the problem down to there being no upnp on this router to enable, and Skype doesn't like that. So, is there any way I can make this option available, or some other way to 'simulate' upnp so Skype will play nice? I read somewhere else that "IP Passthrough" may be an option, but I'm unsure about that.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to stream music files to my A/V system. After weeks of encountering problems, I discovered that UPnP was disabled (by default) on the router. After enabling UPnP on the router, bingo......it worked. My A/V system has a Yamaha A/V receiver, which is a networking receiver capable of net radio and accessing/playing files on my PC. Net radio works fine. The problem I'm having is that when I shut down the A/V receiver, turn it back on, I can't access the files. I have to disable UPnP, save changes, and then reenable UPnP, save changes. When I do that, all is well and my receiver "sees" my PC and files. Shut down the receiver, turn it back on, back to square one and have to do the do the disable/enable routine again. PC is WinXP, using Windows Media Player 11. Seems the "enable" UPnP desn't "stick", even though it shows enabled on the setup page.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a BEFSR41v3 and am trying to enable UPnP on the router. However, after I activate UPnP in my browser and the webpage reloads (after the common status screen that says you have to wait 5 seconds and you will be redirected). I am prompted for a password. But for some reason, it will not accept any password that I enter. In order to even get to the settings to UPnP in the first place, you must enter the correct password to access the settings. So I believe I am using the correct password, so why is it not accepting the correct password? I have had to reset my router to factory default settings (by pressing and holding the reset button for 30 seconds) multiple times because of this. But each time after enabling UPnP it will not accept the default password of admin nor will it accept any password that I assign it afterwards. I have noticed however that the "Filter Internal NAT Redirection" which should be set to enabled by default has been set to disabled even after I have reset the router. I have activated UPnP on the router before without trouble but have had to reset the router to factory default settings afterwards because of other reasons.

It seems there is a bug with TL-WDR3600. As it can be seen in the following image, the UPnP is off:But my firewall on the computer is reporting flood of packets originating from the router (it's the routers MAC address and IP address):I don't know what ETH type packet is, 0026 might be hex (38 decimal as seen in the raw log). But port 1900 is definitely UPnP.At the router, the wireless switch is off, as well as all other options for sharing etc. This computer is the only one connected to the router. The router has been reset several times.
UPnP seems to be failing somewhere between a few hours and a few days. It will work as expected for a while after starting or restarting the router, but then trying to create any new UPnP mappings will fail, and the ones that have been already created usually stop working. The commandline client upnpc fails to locate the router automatically, and manually navigating to http://192.168.0.1:65530/rootDesc.xml in Chrome returns a connection reset error instead of the expected XML device description.I turned on debug messages in the logs, but there doesn't seem to be anything useful in there (though they also seem to be flooded with a bunch of IPv6 mDNS network hopping, so I'm going to try disabling that for a while and see if that works). I did update to 2.10 and still had the same issue with UPnP, however my wireless network kept going down (I guess a known issue) so I downgraded back to 2.07. After the downgrade, I reset the router and manually re-entered all my settings (i.e. I didn't import them).

I can't find out for sure where it says it does or doesn't though I was under the impression that it did. When I load up Screens Connect though it says 'Port mapping unavailable. Check network or router settings" I dno if the fact that I find no specific mention of these features means the router predates them so it's not mentioned.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a DCS-930L network camera that I configured from its Web-based interface. In SETUP | Network Setup, I have disabled both UPnP and UPnP Port Forwarding. In my router's (Netgear WNDR3700) settings, I reserved the local IP address, 192.168.1.80, for the DCS-930L. In the DCS-930L I assigned the network camera HTTP Port 8000; therefore, I can access the DCS-930L on the LAN from [url].... In addition, in the router, I have forwarded port 8000 to the local IP address, 192.168.1.80, so I can access the DCS-930L from outside the LAN.I can access the DCS-930L both from within the LAN and outside of the LAN.
However, even though UPnP and UPnP Port Forwarding in the DCS-930L are disabled, the DCS-930L keeps adding and deleting UPnP NAT rules in the router. In addition, a system at the IP address, 207.232.83.172, keeps attempting to access the DCS-930L from different ports. I traced the IP address, 207.232.83.172, to the ISP, Telekenex, in Los Angeles, California. A partial log from the router is below.[code]...
I just set up the x2000 at my home Everything seems to be working fine. However, when trying to connect my play station 3. I get upnp not available when I run the internet connection test. I have Upnp enabled on my router. I have tried port range forwarding and DMZ settings to my ps3. and still not working.
I try to start with UPNP in my LAN network. Everyting works if I use Wifi connection but does not for wire connections. All tests suggest that router block UPNP traffic. Of course my WAG 200G in managment menu is for UPNP enabled. ex. downgrade firmware or something like this?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe require UPnP (mainly for an in-house built FTP Server app that uses UPnP to dynamically open/close ports for Passive FTP mode) and have found it's implementation in the SA540 is unreliable. Sometimes UPnP works after a reboot, sometimes it doesn't. When it does work after a reboot it will eventually stop working. Going into the web GUI and turning UPnP off and back on always fixes for a while.
Is this a known issue with the SA500 Series routers? We had an RV220W deployed first, but it's UPnP implementation was even more unreliable. That said, it seems that the latest Beta firmware version for the RV220W has fixed the issue. Could it be that the same fix needs to be applied to the SA540?I was planning on opening a cause with the CSBC at some point like I did with the RV220W, but I'd rather not spent the time doing so if the this is a known issue.
I have been unable to get the UPnP function to operate on this router. Box has been checked and saved several times with no results. Ports cannot be opened maunally as well. I have been through every page looking for something that was missed, along with the sparse documentation instructions to no avail.
UPnP and port forwarding worked fine on the residental E3000 router that this replaced. I thought this was an upgrade, but it is seeming like a downgrade now.
I posted this on a previous thread along with another question, but since I marked that as answered I'll post it here so people will see it.Is there any way I can use UPnP WITHOUT having to have the videos I want to stream in my WMP library? Windows Media Player has always been a pain for me, from my videos not showing up in the library when I know they're there to not being able to switch audio streams in a video. (If VLC Media Player or iTunes had a UPnP library.

View 8 Replies View RelatedSo I just setup my new E3000, upgrading from a WRT54G. The uPnP worked great on that router and my last three routers before that. Xbox never required I setup anything -- I can prove this simply by swapping routers and putting one of the old ones in place of the E3000.However, the E3000 (Firmware Version: 1.0.02) is not working with uPnP. Xbox connectivity test comes back and says that my NAT type is "Moderate". Most stuff works fine, but I'd like to get it all working. I worked with a Linksys tech who got NAT to "Open" by configuring triggered port forwarding. I am happy to have my issue resolved, but confused why uPnP didn't work? I mean it was easy for me to configure port forwarding, but for my less technical friends, should I simply not recommend this router because it can't do basic uPnP?

Why am I unable to "disable" the UPnP in my TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND wireless router? When I click on the "disable" button nothing changes. I click on the "disable" button that then click of "refresh" and it still doesn't change to disabled.
I have a similar thread about this issue, the issue of this modem not support any kind of port forwarding actions... even disabling firewalls, using DMZ, port range forwarding the whole ip range , solves a thing...
it has upnp and port ranging features all over it but somehow it does not do it, and nobody cares excepty the ones that invested in it...
so if you are stuck with a router like me, dont bother wasting hours on it, and leave it to the people who are responsible for it.
In my Ipad (I have Dlink+), I can only see 1 minute of the Cameria 942L...the faq says that I need a conection witn Upnp.I have a Cisco EA2700 and I check the box of Upnp,,but I still cant see my camera from more than a minute,, then I have to reload.
