I have full signal strength but I can't connect to the internet from any device. Internet works fine when connected directly to devices. Devices will show an IP address but will not connect to the internet. The first router worked fine for about a year and did the same thing so I replaced it but now after 1 month, this router is doing the same thing!

Well, my Wi-Fi is connected perfectly but is not connected to Internet because it has no access to Internet. I can't figured it out how. I tried for hours per days. A friend of mine checked in my computer.My router is Linksys EA3500. I am truly thinking about sending it back to store and get a full refund then buy another brand of router... for my iPad to able to surf, to play, to e-mail and everything.
View 9 Replies View RelatedUnder Devices, I find that my Apple laptop (WIFI connection) and our Dell Desktop (LAN) connection are considered the same device. The operating system the EA3500 shows for this device is the apple IOS system both connections and address numbers appear in this device. This makes it impossible to set up separate parental control settings on each computer. What could I do to get the EA3500 to recognize these as separate devices? I have already tried forcing the WIFI network address of the Apple to another address. All that happened was the device address updated in on the EA3500 device list, but the LAN and WIFI addresses remained together still under the same device name and MAC OS on the device list.
I have the latest firmware loaded on my EA3500. This was not an issue previously when I ran the old firmware. Below is a what I see in the device listing showing the LAN address for the Dell and WIFI address for the Apple all on the same screen. When I turn one device off, the respective entry goes away. Only when both computers are off does the single device entry on the EA3500 reflect being offline.
Experienced problems with guest network not showing up as an available network on a device (laptop, iPad, etc)?I double checked if guest network is enabled on a EA3500 router. What other steps can I take?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded my Wi-Fi router to an EA3500 and am controlling it using Smart Wi-Fi running on a wired Windows 7 machine.So far, I have been able to add devices to the network without issue and each of those connections works fine. All, except my TV, have been Windows 7 based machines. Smart Wi-Fi Device List has been able to "see" each device and I have been able to add them to that list as well.
I am attempting to add a Windows 8 desktop computer to the network which is using a external USB wireless adapter. That computer can see and connect to the network through the EA3500 and the connection seems to work fine. The only issue is that its adapter does not show up in the Device List.
1) Does the Device List do anything else besides showing a list of devices I chosen to add to my network?
2) How do I get my Windows 8 wireless adapter to show up in the Device List?
Can not connect computer to Cisco Connect -.Receive error msg 82BD0305. Reset to EA3500 to default and reinstalled software.

I followed the directions here: Support Page , but my verison of Cisco Connect does not have the option to "connect a USB printer".
I am on a macbook pro running OSX 10.7.4 and my verison of Cisco Connect is 1.4 (12005.2). My router's firmware version is 1.0.30.126544. A screenshot of what I see after clicking "add a device" in Cisco Connect is below. The printer is an HP DeskJet F4280.
After using the newest firmware for CCC, I've found it is very convenient, but only in some ways. Now, I think I find it is uncomfortable, very disappointed and waste lot of times. Each time I try to access to CCC, it took me like 5 mins to access the web page. I understand ciscoconnectcloud.com is use when you are outside of your home network, but when I access it directly from my home (local IP), why should I need to connect via a CCC(?) I want a local connect to my router which is a faster access than via a server.
Sometimes, connect via an IP of the router, it say can't connect because of internet connection down, but actually I can still access internet except access my own router. I like the easy setup of CCC but maybe I need to switch back to non-CCC?
I bought a new router today because my WRT54GL was giving me some fits. I purchased an EA3500 and I'm using an EA2500 adapter on the desktop since the router can't reach it via ethernet. Some of my early troubles with this combo began with not being able to test upload bandwidth. It would just time out and give an error via the built in Cisco (OOKLA) utitliy and through speedtest.net after which, the network would show no internet access and I'd have to reset the adapter. After trying to troubleshoot that issue it grew into zero internet access for my desktop however my Nexus would have wifi access without issue. If I'd startup in safe mode with networking I'd have net access shortly and then it would quit about 30 seconds after startup. I've tried uninstalling all drivers for the wireless NIC and the Cisco Connect software while doing everything manually but nothing changes. This PC simply won't gain internet access with the EA3500 or even allow me to access the router through the default gateway IP. I've since put the WRT45GL back in place and I have access again with my EA2500 adapter. I should note that with the EA3500 in place, if I disconnected from my wireless I couldnt see any networks until I unplugged the adapter and reinserted it into the USB port (i've also tried many different ports). I've named the SSID's of the two routers differently, tried a manual setup of the wifi, tried the CD setup, the wifi protected setup, no security, and WPA2 to no avail. I can't seem to get the EA2500 adapter and the EA3500 router to get along. I'm running W7 x64 Pro.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an HP Veer Webos phone. Since I upgraded to an EA3500, I haven't been able to connect my phone to the network wirelessly. Today I temporarily installed a WAP54g on the network, and I am able to connect the Veer via the WAP. I spent 45 minutes chatting with Cisco Support today, but didn't resolve the problem. I believe I have the same situation with an HP Touchpad, but can't say the problems are identical, since its battery is down right now.

Just installed a Linksys N750 (EA3500) router (WAN - LAN setup). I settled both band networks : 2.4 Ghz and 5Ghz with different SSID and different WAP2/WAP personal mixt. WHile some devices will show both networks correctly, I'm facing issues with the 5Ghz band and wonder if this is sigh of some kind of failure:
- while my iPad offered both signals and let me set the 5 Ghz band, it is showing weak signal and stall on loading webpages; as soon as I instead put it on the 2.4Ghz band, (standing at same location of course), everything runs smoothly, excellent signal.
- I have a Mac Mini and PS3 side by side same location. The Mac Mini seems to works flawlessly under both bands, 2.4 or 5 - excellent signal. However, the PS3 fails its connexion test and states that signal is not perceptible on the 5Ghz. But connect as a snap on the 2.4 Ghz band.
- Got on and off 5Ghz signal on a laptop; connected to 2.4Ghz, everything runs perfect.
- iPhones 4S : I don't even see the 5Ghz SSID, but I get both the 2.4 and Guess account..So I'm tempted to conclude that some devices just can't follow the pace (??) to connect on 5Ghz..

I have made all the setup, intsall Linksys smart wifi..Now that all is done, I try to install my printer but it didn't work..When I try to connect the printer cias Cisco VSUB application, the application try to connect the printer but the application is stuck at this step..After making a search on the forum, I found that somebody have uninstall the printer, re-install the printer driver and it work for him but not for me...
View 9 Replies View RelatedAll of us connect effortlessly to wifi via the EA3500. All of us, however, also have iPhones, and yet none of us can get on wifi with our iPhones. Apple insists the problem is on the Cisco side, not the Apple side, and I have to agree with them because all of the iPhones connect effortlessly to wifi everywhere else it is available. I tried contacting Cisco support, but they wound up telling me that if I paid them they might be able to assist, since the router is outside the warranty period. (I tried explaining to them that I didn't know about the extent of the problem until 10 days ago My wife simply uses her mac; none of my daughters lives here and only one of them had an iPhone until ten days ago when I purchased the other ones. But that was to no avail.) Why no one can get on wifi with iPhones when they can, simply and effortlessly, with the PC, the iPad, and their macs?

But as soon as i plug the cable into the router, the activity lights turn off like its not plugged in on the other end...which it is. So when going through the setup process, both using the cd and inputting the information on the web based setup. It does nothing, the automatic setup says the cable isnt plugged in. When using the browser setup i can click connect as many times as i want and it does nothing but say disconnected.

It works fine for a while but then I can't connect to the router using my PC unless I log using the remote credentials. Generally if this were the case I wouldn't care but when I do it that way I can't run the speed test. After I reboot the router it works fine again, for a while.
For some reason, it doesn't detect my PC as being connected directly although my PC is connected by wire, directly to the router.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI just purchased an EA3500 because I absolutely need guest access. I set everything up through the Cisco Connect application on the CD and all was well. I figured it's time to get into the whole cloud connect app thing, as this is why I chose this router over another but after creating the account and activating through email, I constantly get the message that I need to associate my router with my account.The PC I am using is directly connected to the router through a cable. I'm not sure what else I am to do at this point. The content of the entire message basically is telling me to head to [URL] with the PC connected to the router that I want associated and to follow the directions.
1. There are no directions... I get that message every time.
2. I've tried rebooting the router and then logging in to the website - that gives me a message saying there's no router detected, meaning that somehow the site IS detecting the router, I just somehow haven't associated it.
My phone and my friends phones can connect to the wifi but I cannot receive nor send data from it. The phones work completely fine elsewhere. Here is the kicker, my computer works completely OK on the router and my phone used to work for 3-4 hours before this issue started going again. Now it is constantly. I restarted the modem, default reset it and still nothing. I get an IP address too and it stays connected. Cisco thinks its the phone, but its multiple phones that are having the problem and my phone and other works completely fine at other places.
View 7 Replies View Related I've recently purchased the EA3500 dual band wireless-N router to replace my old and somewhat tired WRT54GS. The old router worked, I just decided to upgrade to wireless-N since all of my devices are now capable.My ISP is Comcast and I use a Motorola SB 6120 cable modem. After an extremely easy setup of the new router last week, I experienced one full day of glorious speedier network and internet traffic. However, roughly 24 hours after installation I started experiencing intermittetent internet connectivity issues. As in - the cable modem is accessible for 2 minutes and then can't be found for 2 minutes, repeat forever.
After multiple different troubleshooting steps, including rebooting both the modem and the router together, separately, and releasing and renewing the router's IP Address through the router's admin page, I finally ended up resetting the router back to factory defaults and letting Windows 7 guide me through the re-installation rather than using the provided "easy setup" CD from Cisco.
This seemed to have worked, but 2 days later, my "every 2 minutes" issue returned.
Something important to note here is that all of my devices - both wired and wireless - are able to communicate with each other without issue. For example - while I have no access to the cable modem, I am able to stream music from a wired desktop through a wireless laptop to a wireless receiver connected to my TV. I am also able to access the router's admin tools during my connectivity issues.
I was wondering if the EA3500 would support splitting the USB (buying a USB tree) to allow for both a printer and hard drive to connect at the same time?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently opened the ports used by Xbox Live: Port 88 (UDP)Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)Port 53 (UDP and TCP)Port 80 (TCP)I am able to use xbox live once these ports are opened but once they are enabled, I can not get wireless internet. The xbox is connected to the router with a cable so it isn't experiencing this probem. My laptop and phone are able to identify the network and join but there is no internet access.
If I disable these ports, everything goes back to normal.

I have tried with my iPad, iphone, laptop with wireless N adapter and 2 PCs with wireless N adapters. none of them worked. If I use mixed mode, they can connect but only with Wireless G and speed is 48 - 54 only.

I have connected my broadband modem directly to a single computer (which is how I am posting this) and evidently there is nothing wrong with my internet service. I have tried restarting my modem, the router, and the computers I am trying to access the internet with, and it has not worked. Note that local communications work fine, I was able to ping another device connected to the router, and even establish a TCP connection.It is possible that the settings on the router have been changed without my knowledge, if so, however, I do not know which setting could be causing this.

my wife bought me this EA3500 for Father's Day this year. It's only been hooked up for a couple of weeks (we were in the middle of a move during Father's Day), but now I have no wifi on either band. My wife can no longer connect to it either. We have tried completely resetting it, we have reset the modem, the switch, laptops, everything. Still no wifi. It worked out of the box, but now we have nothing. Does HP needs a certain type of driver? Our iPhones show connected and surf the brower's and FB app with no issues while in wifi mode, but then again, I can pull the ethernet from the internet port and the phone's still show connected (good job, iOS).Cable from main splitter runs to basement where the modem is located. Modem ethernet feed up a wall to a wall plate where the router is. Router then feeds back to the switch. The switch then sends the IP throughout the house for the LAN lines, and the EA3500 feeds all of the wireless devices (used to). So, Cable box, modem, router, switch. Router is currently good for LAN only. I am connected to it via LAN right now, 2 feet from my laptop.

After resetting the router (power off for several seconds) the internet-connection is available again.I have to do this every 1 - 2 days.
View 7 Replies View RelatedThe guest network on the router keeps going down. It can be seen but it cannot be connected to. Sometimes it works for a day or 2 and then it doesn't. I have to constantly babysit the network and it is entirely frustrating because the only fix is to reboot the router.I have tried factory resetting several times.I have tried re-flashing the fw.I'm using the non-CCC fw because CCC had way, way too many issues.These routers have been out for months and many people have been having issues and somehow Cisco doesn't see fit to work on firmware that stabilizes them at all? It's like, they release a router and then forget about it - the next batch comes along, often the same guts with a different shell and it's the same thing over again. I had a WRT610N and I said I'd never buy another Cisco after that but I broke my rule because of being lured by these "App enabled" features, which mind you have nothing at all over the competition since the CCC doesn't even work for most people.
