I have just wired my house and have a cisco 2950 switch running in the basement. every rj45 jack in the house works with everything except one computer. we have a HP with an nforce 4 chipset. this computer was connected through a hub and to a netgear router using the wires in the walls, the same wires and ends this switch is connected trough now. This computer stoped detecting a connection when we moved it off the hub and to the switch. all the ends and punch downs are using B wiring pinout. I have tried a new cable, when i plug any cable from the wall jack to this laptop it works, when i move the same cable to the HP it does not detect any cable plugged into it. when i setup ICS on this laptop it will connect and does detect the connection with the same cable running from the wall jack to the HP that it previously did not detect.perhaps the HP wants to use the 2 pairs that are other wise dormant? im about to install a new nic and see what that does but i can not understand why the Nforce nic would not connect to a cisco switch
when i connect an eth cable to my pc everything says its doing its job righht ie driver up to date etc but i cannot get it to show as connected , all i get is that a cable is unplugged warning .

I've recently reformatted an old hdd and i've installed windows xp professional on it and as usual the first thing that came to mind was to go on the internet to download all the drivers i needed. I ran into my first problem, apparently i can't access the internet because i don't have the driver that allows me to use the internet. I've downloaded the same driver that i had on the other hard drive, but it's just not doing anything, i can't create a Local Area Network in my connections. I'm on the same computer as said computer, except different hard drive. Don't have any of the cd's nor do i know which drivers were installed on this hard drive.

It keeps saying the connection between the modem and the computer is broken. I've installed a new ethernet cable. it works then it drops. we have hughes net here. the techs have been out and cannot isolate the problem.
I cannot seem to locate a driver for the "Nvidia nforce networking controller." ALL information I can glean from the computer does not show anf further information or part numbers or numbers after "nForce".

I just bought the e1000 router today and I'm already having trouble. I got it setup the first time and all my computers set up with it and it works fine for internet. Everything is snappy and responsive and I don't have any of the problems I did with my old belkin. However, I am unable to connect to the router using cisco connect or the web interface. I need to forward ports, configure wireless security, etc etc. All I did was disable the guest account through cisco connect, and then when the software just sat there doing nothing with the spinning circle in the middle, I opened task manager and killed the process to get it to go away. Now I can't connect using either cisco connect or the web interface.

Few days ago I started to get the following error message while trying to connect to the internet using Chrome and IE:"Unable to connect to the proxy server..."I don't have a proxy server configured - nothing is checked in the LAN settings page.In Firefox I don't have that problem - it seems it gets the proxy configuration from elsewhere.

I'm trying to connect to my home laptop from work. The home laptop is connected to DIR-655 router. I set up the internal and external ports to 3389 using both TCP and UDP protocols with the Application as "Remote Desktop". From my work PC I enter the external IP with :3389 and it fails to connect. I have also tried accessing internally which is failing too. All computers are running Windows 7 Home Premium Remote Access is enable on all.
Recently I installed connectify because my uni flat only had one wired outlet, and I wanted to use my xbox at the same time. It worked perfectly, but when I returned home I found my laptop could no longer connect to the home network, it just says it cannot connect, but all the over devices in the house work. My laptop can still connect to the internet via an ethernet cable but this isnt practical at home. I'm connected to a wifi at home on my cellphone, says signal status is excellent, 54mbps, wpa psk security but I cannot connect to the network. My desktop pc is connected via ethernet and it is working. I tried connecting to a neighbor's wifi and it worked on the same cellphone. WLAN light is flashing, the rest are solid. I have just built a PC desktop and do not think it has the wireless built-in on the motherboard. I'd like to connect to the local network wirelessly. I know that the easiest answer to this is to get a wireless PCI card. But can I ask that in order to be able to access to the LAN wirelessly, I could plug my PC directly into the wireless access point TP-Link.
For some reason, I can see the wireless connections on my laptop but not on my Dell Computer. When ever I try to connect on my computer i see no wireless connections at all, i have A wireless USB adapter that use to be on put in the back and recieved wireless connections in the past but now it doesnt, I try the front ports, and nothing works except for one, but that one port doesnt work for some reason, the same thing happens, no connection at all.

At first I can connect to Internet for 1 min and fails afterwards even if I reconnect to the router. Then I turn on the Access Control settings on my (NETGEAR) router and put my laptop into the trusted wireless stations list, now it can connect to Internet for 1 min and fails however it works for another 1 min if i reconnect to the router. So now I need to reconnect to the router every minute or so.I can connect to the Internet via Ethernet cables, so I am quite sure it's the wireless problem on my router but not the service provider's fault.
I can't seem to connect my laptop using my ethernet cable, but I'm able to connect it to the Internet using my wireless connection. Whenever I plug in the cable, my computer tells me that the LAN connection is connected, but I can't open a web page. I have a new broadband connection and I was kinda facing problems connecting wirelessly with my router.So I did go to my router page and then cloned my MAC book's mac id, and it worked fine. I'm able to connect to the internet wirelessly. However, I can't connect to internet from an Windows XP lappy. I have removed, re-added the network, the network is very much identified but the laptop doesn't wanna connect to the internet wirelessly.Both the laptops MAC Book pro and Dell(the one which has XP loaded) were able to connect without any problem in the previous ISP's case but XP doesn't wanna connect to with the new ISP.
I've been working on setting up a VPN on my home network's Cisco 871 (12.4(24)T4). I've gotten to the point where I can connect from a remote Linux server using VPNC, however, when I try to connect from an iPad or Cisco VPN client, it doesn't seem to be making it past phase 2 -- not even prompting for the username and password.
ASA 5505 Site A connects to ASA 5505 Site B S2S VPN, both has static IP address.
Now I need to change from ISP so that I can get more internet bandwidth, but the new ISP only has dynamic IP address.
Now I need to change Site B's config to use dynamic IP and still connect to Site A and establish a S2S VPN.
How can I do this?I want the ASA 5505 to change its IP daily so that the VPN connection is still up even if the ISP at site B changes its IP. Or a way to do this automatically as I don't have anybody at site B that can do this manually for me.

I have already configured PVN on two router B1_R1and B1_R2, but it is not successful in each of building, I have 3 deparments such as marketing,fiance, and Human Resources. So I've got a IPv6 tunnel with Hurricane Electric and it's currently physically segmented off of my home network. A 1841 terminates the tunnel and if I want to use it I need to plug into a port thats on a VLAN with no SVI and connect outbound to test IPv6 stuff. I'd like to give access to some other users and Im wondering if 6 over 4 tunneling with AnyConnect will work for that. My thought was that they could terminate on my main firewall (5505) and then terminate their VPN session in another vlan which was connected to the IPv6 router. I have this config working right now with IPv4 and I can browse out but Im struggling with the IPv6 support piece. The admin guides from Cisco seem to indicate that I'll need to configure IPv6 addressing on the ASA which makes sense, but doesnt fit my current design.
I am not able to remote access my work computer from my new Samsung Laptop. I was finally able to install the VPN software, but the remote access does not work on my new machine; however, it works on my old HP machine.
I have a software VPN client that connects just fine to the PIX 501 VPN, but I cannot ping or telnet to any services on the LAN. Below is my config and results of show cry ipsec sa.
It's been a while since I have done this. When I check the DHCP address received from the VPN, the default gateway is missing. IIRC, that is normal. What is strange is that when I ping, Windows does not show any sent packets.
