I have a peachtree application installed on a standalone system and needs three other systems to connect to the shared folder to work but each time I click on show workgroup computers, it shows me a blank page on one and only shows the other system on the other.Hence when i try to connect to the peachtree folder, it give error that the system is not accessible?
View 1 RepliesI have a few laptops at home and one desktop. I also have a work laptop which I carry to work every day. I have a lan at home. The computers are connected through a wireless router though my pc is connected through a lan cable. We are able to share files and content.
I sometimes connect my office laptop at home. Though the laptop connects to the network but I am unable to transfer or share files to other computers running Windows Vista/7. After a bit of research I figured this is because the workgroup name of my office laptop is different than the systems at home. I dont want to change the workgroup name of my office laptop as it will create problems at work.
How can I connected my office laptop to the network and transfer files if the workgroup name is different? It does show names of computers on network but when I try to connect a username & password box pops up.
We have a Cisco 2801 router running IOS "c2801-spservicesk9-mz.151-4.M4.bin" which we upgraded from previous “c2801-spservicesk9-mz.124-3d.bin”.

We want to monitor the device temperature via snmp but unable to do because temperature ratings are not available on "show environment all" output like below.

Where as on Cisco 2811/51 & Cisco 3825/45 we can get temperature ratings on "show env all" output.

my computer is a dell dimension 1100, with a Linksys WMP54G wifi card, running vista home basic.In the wifi thing in the notification area, it shows two wireless networks, One is my normal SSID (Lower Net), and one is "Unidentified network". They are both on one wireless connection (Wireless Network Connection 3). When i try to go on the internet, it says i'm not connected. i tried disconnecting from the unidentified network, but that disconnects me from lower net too.

Ie; being exposed to migration/project teams who wanting to 'migrate' more hardware and sites to the care of the NOC, after the design teams have implemented them? This seems like a step towards the design side which in the long term I am wishing to get to.

There is also a dvr system on the network for cameras.Each switch is daisy chained together. Everything is working correctly except for the fact that the network drops about 5 times a day. Before they called us, they would just unhook one switch and plug it back in and it would work.At first, we took that switch and exchanged it with another switch in a computer lab to see if just the computer lab goes down. If it did, then that switch was bad. That wasn't the case, the whole network still went down.We had already left, but when we go back, our first choice will to see if there is a loop anywhere within the switch that will flood the network. Then, we were going to see if there was a switch that was getting a lot of traffic on the network to try to track it down.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using my normal Ethernet cable that I used on my old PC at the exact same location / circumstances, but when I plug the cable in my new PC, my download speed peaks at 81.5 kb/s and my upload speed peaks at 10 kb/s. Now when I put it back in my old pc I get 3mb/s download speed and 0.5 mb/s upload speed. I don't quite understand what the problem is. Do I need to update drivers/BIOS? I can't find any updates. This is a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit with barely any programs installed as of yet. I have reinstalled Windows 7 aswell, to no avail.

I have an issue where I am trying to start my VPN and continually get the following message: Error 56: The Cisco Systems, Inc. VPN Service has not been started. Please start this service and try again.
So I have been into Services to 'start' Cisco Systems, Inc. VPN Services - this then always comes up with this error: Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion
The solution mentioned on other posts on disabling the ICS but it was already disabled. When I try to start VPNGUI I also get error 56 and when I try to use services.msc to start the service I get error 1053. Then also when I try to start from task manager services(cvpnnd) i get access denied.
I use campground WIFI systems to get internet/email but some wifi systems have limited range.I solved this problem with a booster antenna but that means I am hard wired to it. I want to (if possible) to get the wifi signal to a bridge then send it to a router so that I can use my lap top, printer and other devices in my 5th wheel wirelessly. I looked at a suggested system that uses a point-to-point antenna that feeds a bridge, that feeds a router. I don't want to use the point-to-point antenna.My booster antenna is a USB feed.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have two Windows 7 Ultimate computers and around 10 Windows XP (Home and Professional, SP2 and SP3) computers trying to connect to it. It's just a LAN (no internet access).I have set all of the password-protected sharing off on the Win 7 systems. I have tried opening up ALL of the permissions and such (since security is not really an issue).When I try to map the network drive, it won't let me merely connect to it. So, I have to click map network drive on the XP computer and hit "login with other credentials" and enter the username/pass for the user account on the Win 7 machine (we'll say Bob for user and Smith for password for the sake of example). It will mount the share (which is actually the C: root of the drive) just fine.
The only problem is the moment you restart the Windows XP system, it will lose the connection. My fix for it was to create a .bat file that contained the following: [code] I put it in the Progam FilesStartup folder to run upon boot. For the most part, it seems to work after a fashion. Some of the computers, though, will drop the connection to the two Windows 7 systems and need to be rebooted 1-2 times before they get it back again. Even clicking the .bat file manually will have the same result (you will have to reboot) if it drops the connection while you're using it. Plus, sometimes it doesn't map the drive correctly (I assume because the batch file is running before the connection has a chance to initialize on the LAN).I've also tried adding an "Everybody" user to the permissions on the Win 7 systems with full access, but it only seemed to cause problems with the existing connections.It might also be prudent to mention that both the Windows 7 and Windows XP systems are all 32 bit. I've also disabled the firewalls on the two Windows 7 systems. Neither of them have any antivirus or security software installed.

I have used wireshark to verify that the packets are being marked, with the' mls qos rewrite ip dscp' they are, without rewriting does not occur.Moving my sniffer to the 3750-2 I am monitoring the Layer3 connection (marking preserved), however on the layer 2 trunk the marking has been reset to 0 , if I remove the 'mls qos rewrite ip dscp' from 3750-2 then I see the marking on the layer 2 trunk, however I am then unable to remark anything generated on this switch. I believe with the 'mls qos rewrite ip dscp' enabled the L3 to L2 transistion removes the IP DSCP sets the COS to 0 and themnthe COS to DSCP mapping ensures the DSCP is set back to 0.I have tried implementing additional marking policies on 3750-2 but to no avail.What I need is ensuring that that a frame / packet marked in 3750-1 can keep it's marking to the end system over layer 3 and a layer 2 trunk. The only place I wan t the marking to be stripped off is when the dot1q tag is removed as it goes through an access port.

When IP of both systems are not reserved, each computer can see other network computers and devices, five in total.A good thing that both systems get each time same IPs which even got not changed since I upgraded from E1200.When I reserve an IP for each system exactly that they currently have, both systems loose ability to see other network computers. Network shares not affected, I still can remotely access my XP box remotely from my 7 via RDP by computer name. WDTV Live wirelessly connected to the router can get/update its IP address (no connection issues) but same as others cannot see network resources.
Tried different ways, rebooted, finally ended up with device reset pushing the button.The next day I managed to reproduce the issue, but was able to revert by disabling/enabling of DHCP server.Another issue I got with an external HD connected to the router when some files got converted to folders by uTorrent started from that drive.I had to use Unlocker application to be able to delete folders converted. I can just assume that issue because of anonymous access was enabled to the external disk. No problems when same HD connected to PC USB.

I am guessing I will need permission to download these tools onto the university network, would that count as an ethical consideration? Of course I'll propose a migration plan, document the network, diagram it entirely and provide effective steps to implement the change, but that's assumed from any get'go.
