I just installed a fresh copy of Windows XP Pro SP3 on one computer. Now my other PC has Windows7. I connected the two with a LAN cable, and in 'Network' the Windows 7 PC picks up the shared folder of the XP PC automatically, but the XP PC does not show the Windows 7 Shared(Public) folder. Can it be the Antivirus? XP PC has MS Security Essentials and Windows 7 PC has ESET.
The onboard NIC on my Asrock Extreme6 Z77 has stopped working. I had recently moved my system in to a newer and better home, and after moving it in to the new case the NIC stopped working. I had originally thought that I may have zapped it, but looking at the device manager I saw that it was enabled and recognized by Windows. So I tried some trouble shooting.
- Uninstall and re-install drivers.
- Different cables (5 in total, 3 of which work on other machines)
- Disable and re-enable.
- Went out and bought a wireless USB, allowed me to connect to the internet this way. Then yesterday it started to work again after not using the computer for most of the day.Could play some Battlefield 3, and about 2 hours in to gameplay it stopped working.Ran trouble shoot on Windows, something quickly popped up saying something about ip wasn't reconfigured/updated/some BS like that.Finished for the night happy it was working again and then came back on tonight and now it's not working again.
- Updated BIOS. - Deleted McAfee - Verified it was turned on in UEFI (doesn't show connected in system browser in UEFI)
Yesterday I was on my computer when all of the sudden my internet stopped working. I am using windows 7 and at the bottom right I see a big "X" over the small computer icon. I already tried a computer reboot, a router+modem reboot, system restore, and I even reset the power to the room of the modem+router from the fuse box in my house. I tried everything.
I'm sure the problem must be from the actual cable or mother board itself. ( I hope it isn't ) I tried blowing out any dust from the ports and making sure that nothing was blocking the connection. I fell asleep last night with the internet not working, and woke up to it working. Every other computer in my house works except for mine. I tried all of the router ports as well. I did not attempt another ethernet cable though because my room is far and I would need to make a very long one.
I have a DVR connected to CCTV cameras that I would like to connect to my computer via Ethernet and a Netgear N150 router which also handles my broadband. A program called VideoViewer is installed on the computer which works with the DVR to view images on the computer via ethernet.it works with a Zoom router, but not the Netgear.
An older post on this forum told me to remove the adapter's driver software and restart the system. I did this, and it tried to install the software on startup but it keeps failing when installing. Forcing it to look for new driver software resulted in it saying the best software is already installed.
We had a little family get together at my house which involved 2 smart phones and an iphone-(people were browsing using our unsecured router) and now the wireless router is not recognized by our pc's; it's like the wireless address just disappeared.
I just got this av to cat5 converter [URL]? and was thinking i could use a router on each end so it could be wireless. But the way they work the router does not see the converter when it is plugged in.
I have searched the forums and found that there have been others with the same problem as me,but none of the solution offered was working for me so I decided to start this thread.I have an Acer laptop that wont recognize my ethernet cable, it says that there is no cable connected.
I have a computer that runs windows 7, and I run an ethernet cable from netgear router into my computer. It used to run fine, but all of a sudden it stopped recognizing the ethernet cable, and I can not access internet.
I know it is not the cable because I can plug in the same ethernet cable to my laptop (runs XP) and it recognizes and I can access internet.
Also, I know it's not the slot on the router because because I switched places with my other ethernet cable that plugs into Netgear Powerline Ethernet Adapter for my Xbox, and the slot recognizes the adapter just fine.
So I am thinking it has to do something with Win 7 or the computer. My computer does have the wireless capability, and I am running it on wireless right now.
I have never had to do anything to connect to my fathers netgear router or my own netgear router. I would just turn on my pc and have internet. After my brother touched my computer it no longer recognizes any wireless connection. My internet provider says that I need a new router. I don't think that is the problem because after my brother played with my computer it was unable to see any connections (not even neighbors which I normally see). This makes me think something is wrong with my computer not the router.
PS. I do have my wireless switch turned to on. My brother doesn't know what he did but will not be allowed to play with it again.
I have tried 3 cables and all three are not recognized even though they are plugged in. I have uninstalled network adapter and re installed it and i have updated the driver still nothing so i don't know what to do next.my laptop is a hp pavilion g6 series
I am trying to setup a hard drive through my network to be recognized on all my devices. Here is what I have:
router: Belkin n300 max share F7D7301 modem: RCA cable modem Internet provider: Teksavvy (through a Rogers line) Hard drive: WD Elements 2TB HD (formatted NTFS) Antivirus: AVG Free ps3 laptop (running xp) galaxy s3
The ps3 is wired into the router, the laptop and s3 are wireless. I have connected my hard drive to one of the USB drives on the router. I can see the HD and view any of its content (movies and music) on the laptop, but nothing else. My ps3 and s3 are connected to the internet, however I can't find the drive.
I have a DVR connected to CCTV cameras that I would like to connect to my computer via Ethernet and a Netgear N150 router which also handles my broadband.
A program called VideoViewer is installed on the computer which works with the DVR to view images on the computer via ethernet.
Funny thing is that it works with a Zoom router, but not the Netgear There must be settings on the Netgear that needs changing
Ever since moving back in with my dad, I haven't been able to connect directly to the modem. I can connect to the wireless network, but whenever I try and plug straight into the modem, nothing changes and I stay on the wireless. I'm running Windows 7?

I'm running on LMS 3.2 and RME 4.3.0 and one type of device was not recognized.this is NME-X-23ES-1G (IOS : 12.2(35)SE5) in a 3825 url... this module is supported with the OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.703,but in the device center I've found something which seems to be the right equipement :
- Cisco Interfaces and modules - Cisco Network Modules - Cisco 2800,3800 series 23-port EtherSwith Service module with OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.664
I have Prime 4.1 on windows with the latest update, it is up and running except for few devices ASR903 routers that are not being recognized in the Fault (DFM). These devices are supported in this release, The fault is showing that the devices are stuck at 10% learning state. The strange issue is that when i click on the routers that are in the learning state some shows in the device type as N/A ans others are showing "routers". Anyway i followed the steps mentioned in "How can I troubleshoot device discovery stuck at 10%"
I have a 2921 router, with UCK9 services on it. I've installed a VWIC2-2MFT but the system is not seeing it. I've been told there is a command required to enable the card, is this true? I've always done most of my UC work on the 2800 range and never had to run an enable command, it just saw the card.
I noticed in RME inventory, my ASR1001 hardware is not recognized. I checked my Ciscoworks and it only knows ASR1002, 1004, and 1006 routers.
I checked the supported device table for LMS 3.2 and did not find ASR1001. Is there a separate device package I can download. This is not a deal breaker, but it's unnerving to see the question mark icon next to the name of my router in the Cisco works GUI.
We have CAM/CAS 4.8.2, NAC agent 4.8.2.3 and compliance module 3.4.27.1. AVG 2012 cannot be recognized by NAC agent. From the link below, it should work: [URL].
in the past my laptop has been able to connect directly to the internet using an Cat5e cable, but recently when I have been trying to direct connect, I have been unable to, and not sure when the problem started because I always used WiFi and it worked great. I do a lot of messing around, not only with my network, but with my laptop settings also, so something might have gone bunko. I have done much troubleshooitng, such as trying to update drivers, checking to see if the hardware was disabled, etc...
This will be rather difficult as i'm on a cell phone. Anyways i'm unable to get my computer to recognize that an ethernet cable is connected. I know that the cable is good is i've used it with my girlfriends computer with on problems. I've blowed out the port, used two different cords. Apart from connecting to the internet (which i can't atm) i have no idea what to do.
My wireless has just gone it is not recognized in the device manager and a USB Device not Recognized pop up is showing up.i restart it a couple of times and once it did showed up but after i did it again it was gone again.i have a Toshiba laptop l300
I just reformatted the hardrive on my old Gateway MA3 dinosaur laptop and reloaded Windows XP. Once loaded, no Wireless Network Connection icon appears in Network Connections and is not showing up as a Network Adaptor in Device Manager. The adptor is a Broadcom BCM94318MPG(802.11b/g) device on my. I have an XP CD and the original Gateway Windows XP CD and cannot get Windows to find the driver on the cds. Can't connect to the internet so I can't get anyupdates. Is there a way test the adaptor to see if it's cooked or not? Is there a procedure to get the machine to recognize the adaptor?
My wifes Toshiba laptop (vista) suddenly stopped picking up the wireless signal on our router. I have checked and updated the atheros driver and it now says there are no problems and everything is working correctly. But still there is no signal being received.
I have a Linksys E1000 router which was working fine. My hard drive crashed; I replaced the hard drive and now my router is not recognized. I have reset it and tried to reinstall it with the CD. Nothing works.
This device used to work fine with my laptop but it has suddenly stopped working. I have tried turning it off and on again and unplugging it and trying it in different ports but to no avail. Do I need a new device driver? If so, where can I get one that is trustworthy and free,
I have four 2811 routers with IOS 12.4(15)T installed. Embedded Event Manager was introduced in IOS 12.3(4)T, why do I not have it?! I've been at this for over a month, when I try to see the command 'event manager' I get Unrecognized command? According to all EEM documentation I can find, this should work on our machines!
I am trying to install VWIC2-1MFT-T1/E1 into c2600 router w IOS C2600 Software (C2600-I-M), Version 12.3(26) with 28672K/4096K bytes of memory It is not recognized? Do I need another version of IOS?
We just replaced a floor swithc, and ended up going with an IOS-XE software, LMS does not seem to like this software, the device is not available in my Identity dashboard, it's abviously running dot1x.
LMS shows it as software version 03.02.01.SG, same as you get when you do a show version, license level is enterprise services.
Actual Image name: cat4500e-universalk9.SPA.03.02.01.SG.150-2.SG1.bin
Also, the IOS upgrade option does not work for this device, it give an error saying to perform an inventory collection, which I have manually performed, the device is reachable and manageable by LMS, and it does not show up in any of the IOS version reports.
After connecting ZTE636 USB modem to Cisco RV215W the modem is not recognized, even though it is on the compatible modems list. The stick is from Orange PL. Firmware upgraded to 1.1.0.5.
