I returned to work and found a note that my Outlook and Windows password had been changed during the night by the IT department. Why would they need to change my password? Are they monitoring my work somehow.
View 1 RepliesSince Monday, when I have tried to access my emails in Outlook, a box pops up saying Enter Network Password The box is already prepopulated, with Server: pop3.live.com User name: my email address and a password that shows up as a bunch of stars.
Clicking on "ok" or "cancel" just causes the box to pop up again. (I can still access my emails on Hotmail, BTW, and all internet is working fine). I access the web through Qwest/Century link and MSN.
I am hesitant to delete the password 'cause who knows what it is?? It is NOT my Windows Live/Live Mesh password, as it has one too many stars. But the box came up prepopulated so I assume at some point this was the correct password.
In the past when this happened, you could call Qwest/Century Link and they would walk me through (as best as I remember) redoing all the pop 3 settings. Now, they say they "don't support" MSN.
I have windows 7 Ultimate , I have a wired ome network and haev a laptop and WD Live TV Hub on them but when I try and click on teh items under network in explorer it pops up with a enter network password, under which it wants a user name and password.i have added all the usernames and passwords I haev for the pc and the laptop but nothing gets past it.
View 19 Replies View RelatedI have a new Lenovo Ideapad laptop and Im having problems connecting to internet using ethernet cable. The thing is this problem occurs only at one particular place (dorms) because Im having no internet problems at other locations.
It looks like this: I connect using ethernet cable, Windows 7 identifies the network and everything looks normal, but there is no internet when I open a browser (I tried IE, Firefox and Chrome). It just loads and loads and sometimes it loads my Google homepage, but only after approximately 30 seconds or it does not load it at all. The same applies for other pages - they do not load or they load after a minute, but the pages are incomplete, they look like HTML
When I do a ping at CMD, it shows the same problem, the replies are slow or it shows "request timed out". I tried pinging various pages or IPs with same results. The only thing Im able to ping normally is the IP of my network adapter. My IPv4 is set to automatic, but I also tried manual parametres, just in case.I tried 3 different cables, switching antivirus and frewall off, did spyware search, switching IPv6 off, switching WiFi off, reseting the main dorm router etc etc...
Strange thing is that my laptop works perfectly anywhere else (home, work...) so I suppose there is no problem with the configuration of my laptop or network adapter, BUT the internet provider says there is no problem with their network or router since other laptops works normally at THAT location (even my other laptop does work there), so mine Lenovo is the only laptop which is having problems... and when I check the properties of the network, upload is always higher than download, but generally both are very small one more strange thing: I can watch live stream videos using one particular software and I can download torrents quite normally, but loading Google and other pages is a major problem, even Outlook or Google Earth/Talk does not work properly
i tried using the internet on my ipod but my wifii network wasnt connected so i went to my wifi settings on my ipod and the network name and password were changed. i tried resetting my router but nothing happened and i still cant get wifi on my ipod.

So I have a small motorola router and it's wireless so if I hook it up to the original 2WIRE that has blocked wifi do you think I can get wifi off the second router with no password troubles or would I have to buy a special router that has no password? I don't know a lot about computers. And my Meyer has a password on our computer so I can't log on. so if I just hook up the 2nd router and possibly get WiFi do I need to do anything such as setup on the computer or can I plug it in and just go?

Today I wanted to change my passwords on my router Cisco 888e.I connect by telnet my router and access the enable mode.Then, I set my enable password to passwordxxx with the command enable password password1.After a show run, i could see in this config my new password correctly set. Then, I set my enable secret password to passwordxxx (the same) with the command enable secret password password1.I log off the enable mode.Try to log on with the command en but when I type the new or the old password, I receive a 'Access denied' message.
And I'm sure of the new one because on my command line to define it I could see this new password in clear!What are my solutions to access the enable mode again?If I reboot my router, it'll run the previous config file with the old password? I've only worked on the running config file and haven't apply these changes to the nvram.
My son decided to update our router firmware, together with this the password was changed. My computer which hosts the Internet connection works fine, all other laptops have now been connected successfully after simply changing the password. However my wifes laptop won't play ball. It is a Samsung R510, with Vista Home Premium OS. It worked fine prior to updating the firmware. I have been through the process of changing the password and have the correct security encryption in place, exactly the same process as with the other laptops.
It then says successfully connected, but shows in the bottom right of the screen, Unidentified network access local only and will not connect when the browser is opened. I have tried to diagnose but the usual windows prompt to reboot both modem and router has no effect. I have set it to private, as advised elsewhere, I have switched the firewall off and removed security software, all to no avail.
I tried the command prompt, then ipconfig/renew. An error occurred while renewing interface Wireless Connection: unable to contact your DHCP server. Request has timed out. No operation can be performed on Local Area Connection while it has media disconnected. Let me stress that no changes were made to the laptop at all, it is simply not connecting following the firmware update and password change. All other computers, and phones, 6 in total, are all working fine from simply changing the password.
Changed my AD password and now i cannot get into the enable side of the cisco switches on our network (we have no routers).Looking on the logs for the ACS v4.2 I can see the following -
On TACACS+ Accounting you can see the connections which have worked - it the initial tty connections -
When i look in the failed attempts i see the following Auth failed - External DB user invalid or bad password or on another occasion internal error or EAP-TLS or PEAP authentication failed due to unknown CAcertificate during SSL handshake.
I changed my password to my wireless connection and now I can't change it in my laptops network settings

I have a Linksys E3000, have had it successfully connected for three months now. Recently I attempted to connect my xbox 360 to the wifi and had issues connecting it. So I called ATT to obtain the PPPoE username and password, which they reluctantly gave me. Entered that into the xbox and still unable to connect, so I have given up on the xbox for the time being, I'll post that issue in a different forum. Where my issue is now is since contacting ATT the WPA2 password I set up for the router no longer works. I cannot access the router setup page, and I cannot add any new wifi devices. Although, all of the previously connected wifi devices are still connected to the router despite this issue. Is there anyway to make the old password work, or do I have to reset the router and start from scratch, and God forbid contact ATT again?

Yet, whenever I would hit save settings, it would say my settings were saved, then return me to the settings page. But the settings would be blank. I tried downloading firmware from the website (which should say September 28), yet it still says I am running the firmware from September 1st, even after I applied the upgrade and followed through with the 50 second reboot process.
So, I guess my final question for any tech savvy person out there is "What is wrong with my router/firmware?" I am running the browser config in the most recent Firefox on the same MacBook I used to install the router, and haven't changed any settings other than the SSID and password.
Since I changed the password on my wireless router{linksys}, my desktop is fine but both laptops cannot find network connection. when I ipconfig/all I get "media disconnected" and no ip address.

gatekeeper1 (192.168.0.1) is a Cisco 857gatekeeper2 (192.168.0.253) is a Cisco 857gatekeeper3 (192.168.0.251) is a Cisco 877W
The default route is 192.168.0.1 on all devices, however there are some static route defined so that traffic to certain IP addresses bounce off to 192.168.0.253 and use that Internet connection instead. This new connection is designed so that traffic aimed for a certain internal IP address (192.168.0.190) comes via this third internet connection in order to take the load off of the main line. NAT is all configured and appears to be working when .251 is the default route but as soon as I set it back to .1, the traffic appears to come in but doesn't go out again.

The ASA is full licensed so that side isn't an issue.PROBLEM:When the tunnel is initialised from the linux box everything comes up okay except the ASA isn't encapsulation any packets. It is decrypted the packets received from the Linux box okay but no return traffic is being encrypted.When the tunnel is initialised from the ASA, nothing happens.After some troubleshooting I've found that the ACL defining interesting traffic nor the ACL defining NO_NAT aren't being hit at all.

I've checked with the administrator of the linux box and the definition for interesting traffic is exactly the same (except in reverse as should be the case).The firewall is doing other things like NATs and such like too but those NATs have nothing to do with this VPN. The setup is a LAN to LAN connection with no natting in between.The main parts of the config are attached, i've deleted things that should have a bearing on this however if you think it necessary i can sanitise the config and re-post. I think it will be working fine as long as the traffic hits those ACLs, however they're not and I'm unsure why.At this time i'm not seeing anything at all when doing an debug cry ipsec or debug cry isa. The ACL's aren't being hit so i'm guessing it's not even trying to form the VPN as it can't see any traffic that constitutes being 'interesting'.

I've flushed the DNS through command, and have turned on/off the firewall, reset the network connections, reset the router, uninstalled mozilla, IE, chrome, and opera, and still haven't been able to get any resolutions. After a reboot my password doesn't work anymore (wich is normal I guess) and all default passwords dont either. Such as ''Password'' or ''Admin''.
As observed ACS 5.x " Change Password on Next Login" Feature does not work with SSH Clients ( tried with X-sheel, Secure CRT, Putty etc...) , however through telnet session to IOS devices, users can change their password on their next login.
1: on ACS 5.x i create a new user & Set " Change password on NExt Login" option.
2: Logged into the device through Telnet & Password can be changed after i authenticate successfully. however the same is not happening when i login to the devices through SSH.
is it because of the fact that SSH is encrypted session ?
Because changing password through a telnet session is not accepted in many fanancial organizations as per PCI Standard.
I've just bought a ASA 5505 to project my LAN. I've already use Cisco router in the past but it's the first time with ASA line.Everythings work except one major point, the return traffic is blocked by the system… I don't really understand how the zone based firewall is supposed to work but it seems OK by default, my LAN side is allowed to talk with the Internet but Internet is not allowed to directly call my LAN. The NAT is setup to use the IP of my outside interface.When I try to ping a public server, the ASA debug log show me that the communication can go out the network, with the good translation, then go back to the ASA from the public server and here, the ASA block it because the communication is not allowed.I've only found two workaround:
-allow inside trafic with static rules, and I say NO ;
-disable the zone based feature by settings all zone to the 0 level…
How I'm supposed to make my state-full firewall work with zone based feature?

I have an IPSec VPN and NAT configured. Return traffic from an internal NAT host seems to be blocked by the WAN inbound ACL. What is the proper way to allow return traffic from the Internet for this internat NAT host? Note: As a test, removing the deny entry on the WAN ACL allows return traffic.
I changed from a Linksys E4200 to a 5505 and when I use trace route, it doesn't return a DNS name for each hop. I can see the hops shown as asterisks. Do I have to add something to inspect for this to work?
