View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a question regarding two daisy chained routers. In the downstairs of my house we have our main internet connection that is hooked up to a router (router A). We also have an Xbox 360 hooked up to router A. Upstairs we have another router (router B) which is connected to router A. Connected to router B is a PC and another Xbox 360. Currently the downstairs Xbox cannot see the upstairs Xbox or PC. We used to have a network admin guy living in our house and the whole operation ran smoothly, however those days are long gone...

My XBox is downstairs and connected wirelessly to a Belkin Router downstairs. The Belkin Router is then connected to my Linksys Router to access the internet.
I can access XBox Live and the internet through both the XBox and my pc BUT the XBox doesn't see the computer on the network.. so I'm unable to stream files from my pc to the Xbox.
I'm attempting to stream movies from TVersity to my XBox but my XBox can't see my pc..
My customer's Protectlink license is set to expire in 2 weeks. I would like to enter the activation code I just obtained, but cannot find the link. When I go to the license page in the router, there is a link to renew, but that just takes me to the website to enter the new key code, then receive an activation code. There is not howver any link to enter the activation code. I assume that once the license actually expires, the activation link will then show up, but there must be a way to get to this page ahead of time.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently changed from an SMC Barricade N to a Belkin Share N300 wireless router and my xbox 360 can no longer recognize my pc over the network. The xbox is connected to the router physically and the pc is connected wirelessly. Both the pc and the xbox can access the internet. This problem did not exist when I was using the old router. Media sharing on my pc is configured exactly as it was before I changed routers.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo got an Xbox 360 slim and if I try to connect to route with WPA2 if fails. If I change to WPA or set up a second SSID with WPA it connects and works fine.If I connect Xbox to another router with WPA2 it works fine.Same results picking AES or TKIP for security type. The xbox is used in a break room and really don't like the fact that I need to have another ssid and it be less secure, esp as WPA2 has been out long enough this shouldn't be an issue. I test 4 other routers and WPA2 and xbox all work fine but not this one but this is the one I have to use due to feature needs.
View 16 Replies View RelatedHow to set this new router up correctly in a way that they can get open nat with one Xbox on the network?I have tried to setup the router so that I port forward the following ports:
UDP/TCP | 3074
TCP | 80
TCP | 88
UDP/TCP | 53
The xbox is setup with a static ip address:
IP | 10.141.167.50
Subnet Mask | 255.255.255.128
Gateway | 10.141.167.1
In addition to simple port forwarding, I setup access rules in the firewall with any source to go to the 10.141.167.50 single ip destination. I have also tried with port forwarding off, but upnp on, and the ports setup specifically in that screen for this xbox. Finally, I disabled the port forwardingin the upnp, as well as the port forwarding screen and simply setup port triggering, while leaving the upnp service enabled. After all of that, the xbox would not get open nat. It doesn't make any sense to me that this doesn't work. I even tried turning off all port forwding and triggering and putting the xbox in as the dmz host. No dice. I'm honestly thinking now that there is a problem in the firmware or something that requires some special workarounds. I'm on the new firmware (i.e. 4.1.0.2) and at the end of my rope.
Ive been trying to work this out on XBL forum for a while. all my settings seem to be correct ( UPnP, NAT type: open, no port forwarding or triggering, IP settings on Xbox's are auto).
The two Xbox can play online separately, when either one of them attempts to join the others party it disconnects from Xbox live.
According to the microsoft website, Xbox live only supports the Hardware version 1A and Firmware: 1.00NA.
My router has B1 and 2.00NA. is there a way to downgrade?
so my xbox cannot connect to my router via wifi..the password has been tried and tried and restarted and to no avail.. i look towards my model F6d4230-4 and the light labeled "wireless" is flashing red. and yet my laptop connection is just fine. how do i fix the flashing red "wireless light" on my model: f6d4230

View 1 Replies View RelatedIf your wireless indicator is flashing red when you discover the smurf, it can mean that someone has tried to logon with an incorrect password. this is not necessarily an attack, it could be someone you have allowed access too, who has forgotten the password? In this case entering the correct password will solve the problem. However putting your own MAC address into the filter will simply block your own machine.
View 6 Replies View RelatedFor my work I am looking to create wireless capabilities to remote locations. To do this we are using a standard modem/router that is connected to an Engenius (802.11b/g) wireless outdoor radio connected to a dish antenna. We are able to go to locations (3+km) and then with a corresponding receiving antenna (using LoS), receive the Internet and connect both to computers at the transmitting point as well as to the WWW. The problem exists is that we want to employ a series of routers at the receiving end that would be able to carry the transmission to a different location (relatively close), due to the fact that some of the locations do not have line of sight to the antennas. We are using Encore routers, model # ENHWI-N3. When we connect the radio's Ethernet into the routers WAN reciever, we can connect to the Internet with a computer. The problem exists is we want to pass that connection over to a second router (R2). This connection is done when the routers are on access points set to a WDS function with R1 having R2's mac address and vice versa. Both routers are set to channel 1. Even when the routers are seperated by distances >50m a computer plugged into R2 can see a computer plugged into R1. Files can be transferred between the 2 computers wirelessly at speed around 3 mbps. However computer 2 on R2 can not connect to the WWW. This router features a spot that lights up if it has Internet access and R1's is lit up but R2's is not. How do we transfer the Internet and not just a LAN from R1 to R2 so it can be accessed further away from the point of the radio and antenna equipment. This setup has also been used where R2 is hardwired to R3. At R3 we change the channel to 11, and then connect through that with mac addresses wirelessly to 4th router. If comp is in R4 and far away it can still access and file share from comp at R1.*edit the ip address for the routers exist all on 192.168.1.xxx If the 3rd number is different between routers would this make a difference?

View 1 Replies View RelatedHow to set up a home network with 2 routers, where R1 acts as the DHCP server and R2 is basically a switch, connected LAN to LAN and everything is on the same subnet. Currently I have a different setup:Both routers have the DHCP server enabled and I connect R2's WAN port to R1 LAN. Therefore I have 2 subnets. Now my special requirement is that R2 is a DD-WRT router, which establishes a VPN connection to StrongVPN, so that all internet traffic via R2 is encrypted and goes through the StrongVPN server. Now my question:If I change my router setup to the same subnet, meaning R2 connects LAN to R1 LAN and I disable DHCP server on R2, will R2 still be able to establish the VPN connection?

View 5 Replies View RelatedHow do i connect two internet routers to one IP address range?I currently have one broadband router connected on 172.16.0.3 subnet 255.255.0.0, I have a second line which is a copper ethernet EFM 2Mb line connected using a Cisco 1800 router configured on 172.16.0.254 subnet 255.255.255.0, no DHCP is configured on either router. the dhcp is provided by a windows 2003 server on our LAN which is also configured on the same LAN IP range. if i connect the Cisco router into the same switch as the broadband router my network devices stop working and dont respond.
If i check the broadband router it shows all the connections to it as having the same MAC address as the Cisco router?? if i disconnect the Cisco router everything returns back to normal and works perfectly. What I want to achieve is to be able to run both routers on the same LAN to provide internet access by configuring the pc's to route through a specific router. the DHCP I want to stay routed through my original broadband line. at the same time i want all pc's to access to the lan devices (ie. servers and printers) what the correct configuration would be for the two internet routers would be?
