I want to know which is the port used by my system on accessing a particular URL.Suppose the URL is ip_address:9081/abc.Is the software port 9081 of my system is being used to access the URL? How can I identify it? Is there any command to identify the used port for a particular URL?

I'm new to networking and was looking for some assistance. First off im using packet tracer to diagram my senario as I will be receiving my equipment next week to deploy.
Hardware to be used:
1. 2 catalyst 3560 switches
2. all connect to a sonic wall router
I have two companies that work in the same office space. I need to keep these companies seperate on their own vlan. They will however need to share the phone system.(Packet tracer file uploaded to give those who have the time to see what I put together.) [code]
I am trying to setup Internet based CCTV system on a router that has a VPN network in place. Am i able to forward the Media and Web Ports to the router without interfering with the current VPN settings.

According to the vendor, we should only need ports 81 and 2000 forwarded to the internal DVR on both TCP and UDP. They really aren't much troubleshoot the network config.

I've made an observation that the newer routers above my E3000 don't have LED icons to indicate the port is connected/active and also to show Wi-Fi is active? I find this good at a glance without having to go look in the back of the unit to see which ports are open etc.

All the systems can access one another except for one system which cannot access any other system although it can see the other systems in the workgroup. It can ping to all the systems.The error message is \computer is not accessible. You might not have permission to access this network resource. Contact the administrators of this server to find out if you have access permissions. Th server service is not started.But i checked that the service is running on all the systems.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to connect to my office PCs via VPN and/or RDP. The office uses Qwest DSL and has a dynamic IP address. I use DynDNS.org to keep the DNS updated with the WAN address of the router. However, any attempt to access the network fails. I have tried remote management access (I enabled it on the router) but that fails. I forwarded RDP ports on the router to one of the PCs but can't connect to it. I also set up a VPN server but cannot connect to it either. Something tells me that all requests to myoffice.homeip.net are not getting to my modem/router. I have even tried the IP associated with the name (Yes, I did check that it is correct!) but nothing works there either.

When I checked the vendor for this MAC, it shows Lexmark international inc, which fact make me feel something is wrong. My first thought was that somebody trying to break into my net but I am close to accept that the owner of Lexmark WiFi printer without an idea in networking, just tried to connect it to his network and after failing to do that, it's wired and wireless features are still on. Just started using our ASA 5505 v8.2 (1) Trying to configure the ASA appliance to allow access into an internal resource (i.e want to be able to RDP into a system behind the ASA from the internet).I have used a static NAT:

When I view the logs it is reporting the following:Inbound TCP connection denied from 206.100.100.1 (external IP) to 100.100.100.2 /3389 flags SYN on interface outside.Been pulling my hair out with this one as I believe I have everything configured correctly.
I am having difficulty following the logic of the port-translation. Here is the configuration on a 5505 with 8.3,So I would have thought the outside access-list should reference the 'mapped' port but even with 3398 open I cannot remote desktop to the host. If I open 3389 then I can connect successfully.

This is currently in a switchport mode access port- channel so only the default vlan data is sent over. Now we have a need due to physical location of these switches, to allow vlan20 (DMZ) from this 3750g to the switch stack. I will configure a few ports on the switch stack for vlan20 and they need to be able to talk to the stand alone 3750g.To do this I will change the port channel on both endpoints to

The access point (a TP-Link WA801N) is only able to access the internet when it is plugged into a port that is on the default VLAN (PVID 1). If I plug it into one of the other VLANs then any clients connected to the WiFi lose access to the internet and cannot access devices on the VLAN. I connect to switch Access Point, configure port on switch which vlan work on this port. But after reboot AP my config for this port delete and have other config where vlan 1 untagged, and allow all other vlan. But in my cinfig allow 3vlan: untagged 100, and tagged 113, 999.
