i'm trying to hook up mi lorex 4 edge+ dvr to my lcd tv (not. full hdtv) i tried using the hdmi cable and adapter but it gave me a message "system not recognized" i would like to know if there is something else i could try. tv daes not have vga connection.

I know that the cable is good is i've used it with my girlfriends computer with on problems. I've blowed out the port, used two different cords. Apart from connecting to the internet (which i can't atm) i have no idea what to do.

I currently have a HDD connected to my Netgear Router which acts as a media server using Mini DNLA. It is picked by the XBox 360 over the wired network and also by other media streaming gadgets (o2 Jogglers) over the wireless network. What I am looking for is a gadget that would enable me to stream to a TV's HDMI input. It needs to be able to detect the mini DNLA server either wirelessly or via LAN and then connect to the TV's HDMI input. Does such a standalone gadget exist?

View 3 Replies View RelatedYesterday I was on my computer when all of the sudden my internet stopped working. I am using windows 7 and at the bottom right I see a big "X" over the small computer icon. I already tried a computer reboot, a router+modem reboot, system restore, and I even reset the power to the room of the modem+router from the fuse box in my house. I tried everything.
I'm sure the problem must be from the actual cable or mother board itself. ( I hope it isn't ) I tried blowing out any dust from the ports and making sure that nothing was blocking the connection. I fell asleep last night with the internet not working, and woke up to it working. Every other computer in my house works except for mine. I tried all of the router ports as well. I did not attempt another ethernet cable though because my room is far and I would need to make a very long one.
An older post on this forum told me to remove the adapter's driver software and restart the system. I did this, and it tried to install the software on startup but it keeps failing when installing. Forcing it to look for new driver software resulted in it saying the best software is already installed.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a computer that runs windows 7, and I run an ethernet cable from netgear router into my computer. It used to run fine, but all of a sudden it stopped recognizing the ethernet cable, and I can not access internet.
I know it is not the cable because I can plug in the same ethernet cable to my laptop (runs XP) and it recognizes and I can access internet.
Also, I know it's not the slot on the router because because I switched places with my other ethernet cable that plugs into Netgear Powerline Ethernet Adapter for my Xbox, and the slot recognizes the adapter just fine.
So I am thinking it has to do something with Win 7 or the computer. My computer does have the wireless capability, and I am running it on wireless right now.
I have tried 3 cables and all three are not recognized even though they are plugged in. I have uninstalled network adapter and re installed it and i have updated the driver still nothing so i don't know what to do next.my laptop is a hp pavilion g6 series

in the past my laptop has been able to connect directly to the internet using an Cat5e cable, but recently when I have been trying to direct connect, I have been unable to, and not sure when the problem started because I always used WiFi and it worked great. I do a lot of messing around, not only with my network, but with my laptop settings also, so something might have gone bunko. I have done much troubleshooitng, such as trying to update drivers, checking to see if the hardware was disabled, etc...

and I am missing a few thing's since installing the windows 7 ultimate, the main thing is that the drivers for my Ethernet connection (wired) are now missing! I have searched online and with Acer and have downloaded a zip file FULL of different scary looking programs that don't make sense to me and none are simple enough to say "Ethernet driver for windows 7" .I can't access the interwebs in my OPS room without it being through an Ethernet cable.Here is a screen shot of the Ethernet controller window.
I have an EA2700 (fimware "classic" 1.0.14.129982) that used to work perfectly fine with a Comcast cable modem. I just recently switched to Charter with an Arris TM902 modem and that's where the problems started. The cable modem will not recognize my router. I have to plug in a computer into the cable model when it starts up. Then I need to clone the MAC address and restart the router (after disconnecting the computer). Why isn't the cable modem recognizing the router when I restart it? I guess this could work if it would be a one time thing but I had to power-cycle the modem and it stopped recognizing the router even with the cloned MAC address. So I had to do the whole spiel again.
Is there any way to make this work easier? Should I update my router's firmware to the "smart" one?
I recently got Fios installed in my home. I believe there is a box the size of a power box in the back room for the Internet.All my other devices (MAC, iPod, Blueray Player) are able to recieve instant and unbelieveable internet connection except for my Dell. I have a Studio XPS Dell computer with windows 7. I plugged in the ethernet cable in the back of my computer and into the "Fios Box" but i didn't recieve any internet. Then i bought a wireless adapter and I do get internet but it disconnects me like every 5 minutes.

View 9 Replies View RelatedNow that the wireless on my Dell XPS 15 Z is fine, I've run into some problems with internet connectivity with Ethernet cable. Since the beginning, I wasn't able to connect to it through cable. When I connect my laptop with the cable, it says that it's connected, and that it has an internet connection. However, I can't get on it... My browsers don't have internet, and other programs can't connect either. (that while it says that it's connected to internet, quite strange)... I was thinking of some security adjustment that might block the internet connection or something, I don't know.
Oh, something that I should mention... I was able to get internet through Ethernet cable when there was a firewall... But when there's no security to the network... It isn't possible to have internet and it gives the situation described above. (any other laptop can connect with the network, so there must be some adjustment issue...)

The Wireless Was previously working fine though recently, has stopped working, all the other devices on the wireless network work fine (Asus Laptop, Iphone's etc). The hp laptop has no problem in connecting to the neighbours wireless and picking up a signal, however, when i go to search for the WAG320N im unable to find it in the list, sometimes it does appear, but after double clicking has trouble connecting to the wireless and will then dissapear from the list. As of this morning we are not able to view our webpage online (ronnysinc.com) or any inmotionhosting pages including our email accounts. However, we can view any other website and computers outside of our network seem to be able to view those pages without any problem. [code] As you can see it works fine with any other website such as google. My initial thought was it was being blocked by our firewall but when I log into the router I do not see any firewall settings that would create this block. I also tried resetting the router and flushing the DNS with no success.
