Able To Ping Static Ip System But Unable To Connect Using MSTSC
Jul 5, 2011
I have strange problem I am using my static ip system since two year, I dont have issues so far, since two days I am facing a strange issue when I am piging my system I could able to see reply,
but when I am trying to connect via MSTSC..blank screen even I am unable to get login screen also...
I have tried to connect to log mein and team viewer all are having the blank screens
We have many CT/MRI etc. machines and Servers in the Hospital LAN. Now intermittently we are loosing the LAN connectivity i.e we are not able to ping any system from any node inside the hospital network for sometimes, after some time it will start working and then again it will stops again. We are using procurve switches and also we are not using any router
I am connecting a 2600 router to an ISP. Interface 0/0 is connected to the ISP using DHCP. Interface 0/1 is connected to the inside providing DHCP services to the inside. At least it should only be providing DHCP services to the inside. I also have a public static IP that is NAT to a private static IP. Everything is working except the computer on the static IP. From the router I am able to ping inside and out from each interface. I am able to ping both interfaces of the router from the computer on the static IP but I cannot ping outside the router. If I do a debug all I see a reject for the gateway of the static IP but it has “mobile IP” in the text string. Not sure what mobile IP is relating to. Networks are as follows:
I have 5 Static Ip pool all IPs are working fine. I have deploy a IIS Server on Windows2008 and configure the Static IP on that server. earlier it was working fine . but since last month the IP is not pinging from Out Side but internal IP Pool its working. I have checked the SERver firewall and another Setting is Ok. if i changed the Ip from the server the new IP is also not pinging.
i'm trying to hook up mi lorex 4 edge+ dvr to my lcd tv (not. full hdtv) i tried using the hdmi cable and adapter but it gave me a message "system not recognized" i would like to know if there is something else i could try. tv daes not have vga connection.
I have two computers side by side 192.168.1.7 and 192.168.1.8 both running xp pro sp3. On 8 I can RDC to the 7, but on 7 I cannot RDC to 8. I can see port 3389 listening on both using netstat -a. But 7 just can't RDC connect to 8. 7 cannot ping 8 either. I have the firewall turned off on 8, I had tried allowing RDC 3389 earlier with the firewall but that didn't work either.I don't have any extra firewalls running.Life will be like perfect, if I can just RDC to 8.Both are on the same wired belkin wireless router, 4' from itl.I tried taking the no ping no rdc computer to work and it didn't work there either.
Ran a diagnostics test and failed the Ping test. I'm using the university resident internet. Called the tech place and they said they're investigating their connections and networking thing on their end. Just in case though, I want to know if there's actually something wrong with my laptop rather than their equipment.

I have a netger router/moden connected to my phone line for broadband, an ethernet cable coming out of that to a netgear switch an then a cable going from the switch to fa4 on the 861. I can ping the netgear router from the 861, however, when I connect my PC to it, I am unable to ping let alone connect to the internet, the PC is getting an IP from the 861 and I can ping the fa4 interface from the pc. I just don't understand my I can not ping the broadband router, I even added a static route to the netgear with no luck.
My system is in LAN. IP is assigned by DHCP. Now i want to assign a STATIC IP to my system. There is no direct connection from vendor router to my PC. My network path is like this. From ISP vendor to Switch->Firewall-> LAN switch. how can i configure Static IP in my PC..
I have asa 5505 configured with smart tunnel for mstsc.exe only. It work fine only if I use IP address of Terminal Server(192.168.1.1 for example) in Terminal Client(mstsc). But it does not not work if I try to use fqdn of Terminal Server (servername.domain.name for example). Is it possible to use mstsc.exe with smart tunnel with FQDN of Terminal Server?
I have one system running as a fale server in my house, upgraded my wrt54g to an e2000 and that server cannot get through therouter. if I switch to dhcp it works fine, then switch bake to a static ip outside the dhcp range and use the same mask, gateway, nds,etc I can ping the router but can't get through it. If I then reboot the router it will work for a short time but eventually stop and I have to reboot the router again. I haven't setup any kind of restrictions or other security, server is wired not wireless.
From My Router that connects to Cable modem i am unable to ping website 4.2.2.2I am able to ping all other websites fines.Same website i can ping from my pc and all other switches fine.Router has only 1 ACL thats for NAT.
I have setup Cisco Asa 8.4 Lab in GNS3 to understand new Nat changes in asa 8.4 because im new to asa.
I have configured one of my internal webserver to static NAT with one public ip. Im able to access hosted webpage from static public ip 192.168.1.4 means NAT is working fine, the problem here Im facing i'm not able to ping to Mapped public IP 192.168.1.4 from outside interface sitting on pc (ip 192.168.1.100) which is also connected to same outside network and neither from ASA console but Im able to ping outside interface ip address which is 192.168.1.3 from pc (192.168.1.100) and from asa console.
This how my network topology
Inside Network 192.168.72.0/24 outside Network 192.168.1.0 inside ip 192.168.72.2/24---------------ASA8.4-----------------------outside ip 192.168.1.3/24 (connected to ADSL router 192.168.1.1)
My old office uses Cisco 861 as a VPN router, with the WAN side setup to receive a dynamic IP assigned by Time Warner cable. Now we switched to a new office, with TowerStream which provide 4G SLA'ed 10Mbit service with static IP, and I get a Cat 5 ethernet down from it.
So all I did, was to go my "interface FastEthernet4", and typed ip address 173.243.123.123 255.255.255.252.Changed speed to "speed 100" and "full-duplex" (as instructed by the ISP).
I also did "ip default-gateway 173.243.123.124", which is the default gate way assigned by the ISP.I also typed "ip name-server 64.17.123.123" to setup the new DNS, am I doing anything wrong? I can't even use the router to ping google, but if I connect the laptop directly to the outside line, then it works, so I know the outside line is good.
Why can't I connect to the internet? I wasted several hours already trying everything in my book to trouble shoot a supposedly very simple configuration change. Do I need to change something related to NAT when changing to Static IP? My NAT was working just fine before when under DHCP.
The below is my full config (some IPs changed to preserve anonymity):
============================================= Building configuration... Current configuration : 16628 bytes ! version 12.4 no service pad service tcp-keepalives-in service tcp-keepalives-out
I defined a static route: 192.168.0.0 / 255.255.255.0 / 192.168.1.201 (gateway), I can connect from 192.168.1.0 to 192.168.0.0 but we cannot ping in this local network. We have a CISCO 18000 as a VPN IP configured between this two local network.
My company recently purchased a custom domain name through In Motion Hosting (inmotionhosting.com) which has worked great up until today. As of this morning we are not able to view our webpage online (ronnysinc.com) or any inmotionhosting pages including our email accounts. However, we can view any other website and computers outside of our network seem to be able to view those pages without any problem. [code] As you can see it works fine with any other website such as google. My initial thought was it was being blocked by our firewall but when I log into the router I do not see any firewall settings that would create this block. I also tried resetting the router and flushing the DNS with no success.
128 compact flash got corrupted and suddenly not working after i reboot the 2801 router. now i have a new 256 compact flash and 512 compact flash but i cannot still to boot the 2801 properly. it always do looping like booting in rommon and will be the image decompress but in the end theres an error, Wrong system software for this hardware. ive tried different ios but still the same.

Comcast Cable Internet Linksys WRT54G Router (using wired, not wireless)
I've done this a million times over so I thought I knew what I was doing. I set my IP as 192.168.1.236 and get all of the information I need from ipconfig. When I put it all together though, it just doesn't work. I think I'm not getting the correct DNS information from ipconfig and the blockheads at Comcast have no idea what a name server is. I've called and talked to about twenty different people there and no one can give me my name server. *sigh*
At any rate, below is a screenshot of what I'm getting in ipconfig. My assumption is that I'm not getting the correct DNS info, but I don't even know at this point.
This problem applies (in my case) to our ASA5510. The issue here is that the http service on the ASA is runnnig off of the standard port 80. Login to the firewall and run the following.no http server enable http server enable 8080,Now you should be able to add a NAT/PAT on port 443 to another server of your liking. Just remember when you attempt to use ASDM to manage the ASA in the future to specify the new port 8080.
I running site-to-site IPsec VPN in Cisco 2811 IOS 12.4 both site. Here I encounter a problem to access server on Site A from Site B
Site A having Leased Line connected to router with Public IP. I have done static mapping 1 web server to Public IP (NAT). This to allow external users to access the server via Public IP. At the same time, users at Site B would need to access to same server via Internal IP since they have Site-to-Site VPN established. But once I done Static Mapping (NAT), user at Site B unable to access the server at Site A using its internal IP. But external user can access server via Public IP. What went wrong here. Do i need to add extra command to get this done?
*I have 2 cisco routers 2811 router A&B*using 0/0 for WAN and 0/1 for LAN on both routers*both routers are connected together with crossover cable to 0/0. recieve link and activity*both routers are on the same subnet Router A:0/0 192.168.1.1/24 - router A:0/1 192.168.2.1/24 ; Router B:0/0 *192.16.1.2/24 router B:0/1 192.168.3.1/24*I can ping the inside and outside address of both router from PCs connected at its respectable end. *PC A 192.168.2.2/24 PC B 192.168.3.2/24 *when connected to router A 0/1 and I try to ping router B 0/0 it times out in DOS* but I AM (CAN) able to ping from PC A to router B 0/0 in hyperterminal, telnet and Cisco SDM. I just CANNOT ping in DOS?
I'm trying to do port forwarding on my DIR-615...first of all I need to be able to ping the router from outside! I did enable the ping options to allow request from WAN...still don't work!!I removed the router and plug my laptop directly on my cable modem adapter and I'm able to ping my IP address (did put the same address the router had)...so, the IP is OK and it is possible to get in the modem from outside.I did plug back the router, and still not working...I did some trick like enable all IP with the Inbound filter...give access to few MAC address that I have to give more chances to get in and still not working!!!
I want to do with my ea4500 is assign it a static IP and access it after doing so. But, no matter how many times I try, I cannot enter its IP address in the address bar and see its settings. I change its IP to192 168 1 200. Subset 255... DG 192 168 1 1 DNS same.Under router address 192 168 0 1I CANNOT access this router at 192 168 0 1 at all. The thing is, the **bleep** settings are not any different the. How they were when it was WORKING. I literally took a screenshot of my setting in case a scenario like this would come up, yet it more problems arise. The only way I can access the router is by doing a factory reset and accessing it at 192 168 1 1.
I have created a site to site Ipsec vpn with a cisco 2610 and a linksys RV042. Running a show "crypto isakmp sa" command I get a qm_idle status and when running a "show crypto ipsec sa" I see that packets are being decrypted and encrypted. Also when running the "show ip access-lists" command I do have matches to that connection. The problem is that I am unable to ping hosts from one network to another. For example, from the Cisco router in network 192.168.0.0 I am unable to ping the remote network 192.168.2.0 and vice versa.
I am not sure what is happening. Do I need to create a route to that remote network? I guess it could also be a problem with NAT or an ACL.Here is what running-config shows:
This is what I have as a setup:BT Home Hub wifi routerPC with Windows 7 Home premium connected via ethernetMacbook Pro with OSX10.6 connected via wifiIt feels like i've tried everything to get this working. As far as I can see the settings are all ok but I've noticed that I can't ping the PC from the mac although I can ping with success the other way around tried traceroute from the macbook and it gives me this so it is able to see it somehow...Code:traceroute to 192.168.1.66 (192.168.1.66), 64 hops max, 52 byte packets 1 alistair-pc.home (192.168.1.66) 1.724 ms * 1.151 msNot sure where to go from here. I think discovering that ping is failing is a good start to diagnose.
I have a home network of 3 cmputers. DHCP from router. 1 computer is not getting address. But if I assign it one, with same gateway and dns(not a duplicate ip of others), it can ping internally, and outside. I can do tracert to 8.8.8.8 and ping it (google DNS). But I can't get to internet. So - i can get out, but nothing coming in. I have checked firewall.
